Location was fantastic for Hyde Park. Staff were very pleasant. Breakfast very nice. WiFi perfect. Nice ambiance around the hotel.
Room needed an update. It was pleasant but not what I would have expected for the cost. Aircon was a noisy domestic unit. TV did not work properly.
We were delighted with our choice of hotel for our recent visit to London for the Radio 2 Hyde Park concert. The hotel is beautiful inside and out and all the staff we came into contact with were lovely (especially the lady that checked our bags in for us ), it was in an ideal location and we would stay here again if we were to visit London.
Big nice room, opposit hyde park ,near paddington station,
Shower is not in function
Love the location
The bathroom is old and the shower is not sutable for old ladies
Excellent location, spacious rooms, free wifi
Not very toddler friendly (stairs in the front, extremely uncomfortable travel cots and no kids menu), staff looked very unhappy to be there
Good value for money - clean.
Lack of a/c and safe didn't work.
Bed was very comfortable and staff at reception were really helpful
Room was smaller than expected. I had requested - and got - a view over the park but it was disappointing that you could not open the window to go out onto the balcony due to H&S reasons!
Location absolutely ideal (opposite Park). Quietness of the hotel, full of character, charm and sphere. Beautiful authentic building. Very friendly and helpful staff. Excellent breakfast in a relaxed atmosphere. Very spacious rooms indeed.
Being an old building, the plumbing system is not ideal. I could live with waiting for the hot water to come, but the shockingly bad repair of the bath made me angry (ours was a "superior" room). As I wrote in my review last year, these beautiful old marmer bathrooms need proper TLC! Management, do something about this! It is a 4* hotel! Another minor point is that when our group returned from the RAH about 21hrs, we felt a bit peckish, and would have liked some cheese to go with our drinks. Not possible... Very strange really, since it was possible to order a cheese platter (as we saw later) via room service!
Location great, they have tried to maintain a very old property. Staff were good.
Wifi did not work in rooms, no hot water in toilet, a very old hotel.
Everything. Very helpful staff.
The hotel localization is the best which is at front of Hyde Park and between two London's underground stations. The hotel is also very clean and service is very good .
As the hotel resides over an old building it takes time to get hot water at the shower as well as to get water flushed at the toilet.
Had a room right next to the hotels cooling system so a constant noise day and night, the room was clean but tired .
Location. The look of hotel. Good wifi Staff were helpful and polite.
Bed was a very small size, in the bathroom it had tile filler residue on the area by the toilet, the only place to plug in the kettle on dressing table was located behind TV, the outlook from room overlooked the ventilation shafts below, and there was noise from these if the window was opened - there was no fridge. TV arial lead was stretched across to plug in to socket on nearby wall. I was very disappointed with the standard of this room for £190 per night. I would not consider this hotel for future stays and would recommend it from my experience - I'm a frequent visitor to London.
Reception staff were very helpful.
Very dated bathrooms.
It took along time to get hot water and the tiles were loose in the bathroom
I booked this hotel for my mums 60th birthday and asked if it would be possible to have a view of Hyde park? Not only did they do that but they upgraded my mums room to a suite and left a box of chocolates on the bed saying happy birthday! Amazing service from the hotel would definately book again
Good Location Clean
There is little of staff Polter serves
Location great. Staff really helpful. Large room and over sized single beds. Hard to find faults.
Would have liked a better choice of wines in the bar and thinner glasses.
Location..bus at the door, underground minutes away. Pubs, shops and other facilities very close by. Reception and F&B staff really excellent. Room with balcony was large..more like a suite and was very comfortable. Looked across to Kensington Gardens. Would recommend, but be aware of some pitfalls.
Airconditioning did not work, hot water took up to 8 minutes running before reaching acceptable temperature for a shower. Balcony was out of bounds due to crumbling tiles. Used our debit card for pre-authorisation, and even though we paid on leaving, the pre-authorisation amount was withheld for one month, effectively tying up our funds. Will avoid any hotel in the future which uses this practice.
Location is ideal Hot water Good eating facilities Great Staff (good tips on how to get around London and excellent recommendations on things to do/ where to go to eat.) Management quick to respond if billing mistakes were made. Hotel taxi's were good value Enjoyed reading the provided newspapers
Not much Need a printer installed for Internet printing
Excellent hotel loved all of it
The location of it.
It took a while for the hot water to hear up for a shower.
The location was perfect, straight opposite the park and very close to Lancaster Gate tube station. I liked the large room which overlooked the park. This may have been a free upgrade as we were asked by email if we requested anything. I should have asked for breakfast if I had known it wasn't included in the price! The receptionist was lovely and very welcoming and helpful.
I didn't like the fact that breakfast wasn't included in the price of the room. There was embarrasment as we were declined at the entrance until we paid extra! There were ridiculous prices at the bar. We would have had more drinks if the price was reasonable. It was unfortunate we couldnt use the balcony but I suppose safety overrules.
twin room size was great location was very good to access the park
hard, hard bed. steps from road to Lobby - no ramp that I could see. Lounge but no informal bar
