The Hotel is pet friendly as we travel with our 2 dogs, I recommend it to others frequently on this basis. For our purposes the location is great, its quiet and has the ameneties we require. The weekend deal is brilliant.

A comfortable 4* hotel with friendly staff and good food

On previous visits, at breakfast the waitress brought your toast, in a rack, to your table. Now they have one of those infernal toasting machines which swallows the bread for, what seems like minutes, and then spits it out half done! It also cause a line of people waiting for their toast. I would have thought it was more efficient to serve the tables as they still do for coffee and tea? Also can something be done to ensure that the room doors close quietly. During our visit the noise of banging room doors, particularly late at night and early in the morning was most disturbing.

Breakfast in the morning was well presented but it was quite greasy.

the staff were 1st class from receptionist, waitresses down to the room cleaner especially.

I felt the time taken to serve you after ordering your meal, it could have been faster.

The reception staff were very friendly, went out of her way to make us and especially our children welcome. Senior barstaff were excellent.

The food in the bar was appalling. What was billed as a handmade pizza was obviously a reheated frozen one. Some of the bar staff were completely disinterested and obviously under trained.

The food was delicious, staff were all polite and friendly and were genuinely concerned with our comfort and the quality of our stay. Would definitely consider coming to stay again.

Drinks were a bit pricey (especially the wines), although, the wines were all of a good quality. Also, the restaurant was a bit quiet, and didn't really have much of an atmosphere - but the service was fantastic and the food was possibly the best we had ever had! =]

the room we were given was more of a suite, comfortable, clean, warm, very welcoming. Staff were very obliging, helpful and courteous and we were made to feel very welcome. As this booking was a special promotion we had thought our room may not have been one of the best but in fact it turned out to be lovely, and would have no hesitation in booking here again. .

A reasonably priced comfortable friendly hotel let down by an abysmally poorly run restaurant.

Whilst the restaurant provides reasonably good food, the whole experience is blighted by the disastrous service which sees diners waiting over an hour for a main course. Too many chiefs pulling in different directions resulting in poor management and even poorer service. Delusions of grandeur without the requisite organisation even saw us having to queue to go in for breakfast, which, when we got in was quite poor quality and either over cooked or undercooked, which is difficult to achieve even for the worst chef?

Staff were very friendly and couldn't do enough for you.

Only downside to our visit was one night when we were having dinner and our starters took ages to arrive but the staff noticed this and soon rectified it and we went on to have a lovely meal.

Excellent value for money. Very friendly and efficient staff. We stayed for one night and had a meal in the restaurant which was wonderful. Breakfast in the morning again was again very good.

I liked the room and the food. It was good to get a call shortly after arrival to check all was ok. Breakfast was very nice, and it was really good that my dog could stay free of charge.

We weren't offered drinks with our meal, and when we did ask and order drinks, they arrived twice! It did seem that we either didn't get attention or we got double the attention needed. Not a major problem, more amusing than annoying, but others may not see it like that.
