The hotel is a large modern hotel. It has very friendly staff who will do anything to make your stay comfortable and relaxing. The bar & meal prices are very fair and I particulary enjoyed a homemade burger. The staff at the reception were first class, a special mention must go to a Mr Boyd Milligan who was excellent throughout my stay.I would definately recommend to anyone looking for a nice relaxing weekend break. My room was also very good, a quiet a location that looked out onto a mini golf course.

The fact that they take dogs without any problem and no further charge. Thank you so much! How hot the place was. Delightful I imagine in the dead of winter but awful the rest of the time. The aircon doesn't seem to work on cool so we asked for a north facing room which was much more comfortable.

The comfort of the bedroom. No lifts and quite a walk to the end of the hotel where my room was.

Hotel was conveniently situated for us to have an extended weekend to attend a wedding in Kilbirne and visit family in Johnstone. (A car is essemtial.) We went for a lovely gentle walk along the cycle track which took us along the side to the river. Also, we took a drive along the coast and visited Largs, Ayr and Alloway (including Burns Cottage). The breakfast was very good quality. Atmosphere was lacking for the evening meal due to few people being about as a result of the extended easter bank holiday. However the restaurant staff were very welcoming and extremely accommodating and helped to make it a pleasant evening.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was of a lower standard than expected and was expensive. There was a lack of staff serving in the bar area in the evening, one person covering both bar and meals. That said all the staff during my stay cooped well, even if rushed.

We stayed at the menzies irvine to spend some quality time with elderly parents and on arrival were greeted with lovely helpful receptionist who offered for someone to help our parents with their bags we found the food in the restaurant to have a choice to suit all of us and the rooms very comfortable on the day we were leaving it was frosty and we were given a free scraper for the frost on the car windscreen the manager even helped our parents to the car and carried their luggage hows that for service we would stay at hotel again and told our friends about our lovely visit cant wait to go back again

Quiet, view from room of small golf course, good clean bedding & towels- plenty of pillows. Cool room but portable heater provided. Receptionist took time to write down clear instructions to our meeting place with family. Standard double bed was huge Not really 4 star hotel. Some peeling wallpaper, back of bathroom door not clean. Breakfast ok but would have liked a proper "Scottish" breakfast- wouldn't have been happy to pay this amount for a this breakfast in a restaurant or cafe.

I had come across a very reasonable price offer and booked it immediately, having a business meeting in the area that day Plenty of room in the car park as not a busy time of year, but what looked like a conference group were just leaving. The hotel is very popular for functions, weddings and conferences. My friend joined me for a 'girly' night and we were welcomed by Kate on the reception desk. I had stayed previously and was pleased to find the same comfortable room with decent club chairs etc. I particularly like the old advertising posters which are framed and hung along the main corridor. We adjourned to the bar for our meal which was very tasty (I had the Haggis) and had fun with the cheery bar person Anna. Paul the Operations Manager was also chatty. I enjoyed my stay and will be back again.

First class service from staff in reception and restuarant and bar. Lovely evening meal on first night and good breakfasts. Lovely large room allocated to us as my wife walks with aid of a walking stick.
