There was a very kind and very helpful lady called Liz Brady? She was on reception and was really helpful after my mother and I had to book to stay there last minute after realising we had misinterpreted the date our relative was arrivin... We were day early. Liz made us feel welcome and she ensured my mother had a room as soon as it was ready (my mother is diabetic) and was unprepared for the overnight stay! The hotel was clean and modern.

The attitude of the staff in the restaurant. Rude, abrupt and the politeness was forced and fake, apart from a lively lad who was there on work placement. He was hospitable. I am unlikely to eat at the restautant because of rude staff but the food was nice.

We loved everything. The staff were very helpful and friendly nothing was too much trouble. They got us taxis at a cheaper rate to and from the airport.

We had booked a Double Superior room but it was small and dark. When we asked to be moved we were upgraded to an Executive room. This Hotel is great if you need to stop off on the way/back from Gatwick Airport. Horley is not a holiday destination.

The Double Superior room we booked was a good deal smaller than a room at Premier Inn

Decor slightly tired

The staff are very friendly .food ok but very expensive . Lovely quiet room but had to ask for fan no trouble getting one !!

Rooms very tired . Very slow service in restraunt. I was only offered set menu not the proper one where as everybody else was ? Asked for a coffee at the bar in the afternoon had my walking stick in one hand handbag and iPad in other and the guy didn't even offer to bring it over ( no one else in lounge at time ) not impressed by the head waiter who served me at all !! Found him very Kurt and served me black coffee instead of a latte !

We stayed at the hotel as it was the perfect location for us. The reception and bar area are smart. The welcome was friendly.

The rooms could do with a bit of an update, but clean and adequate enough for a quick overnight stay.

Stuffy small room, no ventilation in the bathroom and ants coming in from the outside. Still acceptable for £42 a night which was the cheapest offer around, no major drama.

Cheap price, location

No Air-con - Room heating on, was like a sauna and no way to turn off !!!

Everything was handled efficiently from check-in to breakfast - which was excellent. Had expected the hotel to be noisy due to location near Gatwick airport and clients coming and going, however, was not disturbed at all. All staff were helpful and the hotel is very clean

Only complaint would be that the room was excessively hot.As the most of the hotel is ground floor (as we were) - it is risky sleeping with an open window - although we had to.

Rooms comfortable,staff friendly and well priced.

The food in the pub had improved very much since my last trip - well done. The wake-up call was very efficient.

The room was far too hot with no means to cool it down - the window would not open. The electric fan that was provided did not make a great deal of difference. It might be helpful if you could provide more information about how to control the heating - it is not appropriate to expect older guests to stand on a chair to adjust it.

Contemporary design and refurbishment.

Small Bedroom which was too hot. Food and beverage operation was very disorganised. Stopped food at 9.30pm which is early for an airport hotel and at least 20 people checked in after this time. Attitude of staff should be improved. Felt it was like staying in Fawly Towers. Seems that it is not standard to be able to charge to your room which is very unusual for a 4* hot. Could be a very good hotel it is just badly managed.

Very nice family room with two good single beds and a fabulous 7ft double. Most of the staff we spoke to were lovely.

Smell of cigarette smoke in the corridor outside our non smoking room. Disappointed we could not use the main dining room due to a private party being held - warning would have been good.
