Booked when the room was heavily discounted which made staying here very attractive. Location very near Terminal 5. Perfect for our early morning flight the next day. Try NOT TAKE a taxi from the airport to the hotel which cost £20 for the 10 min journey. Take the Airport Shuttle (£4.50) or you could work if you dare. Be aware that the airport shuttle bus driver may not carry change! Room was fine, on the ground floor but it's only a 2 level hotel.

easy, fast, efficient carpets stale, internal sound insulation poor (noisy corridors) which is a considerable shortcoming for a hotel that operates 24/7

Its convenience, cleanliness and comfort. I will complain here ... why make it so easy to affirm and more difficult to register complaints. My daughter actually stayed at the hotel and though she double checked the night before, being told that the restaurant would be open for breakfast until the advertized time, she came down for breakfast to be told it was too late ... and after much insistence that either she be given the pre-paid breakfast (c£15) or be refunded, a tired, cold and inferior tray was produced. She will certainly avoid Thistle unless absolutely essential. And of course, this colours my response.

It was very convenient for Heathrow. The Hoppo bus stops right outside. The room was small but clean and the staff were very helpful. Great value for money. No - if I want to be pedantic I'd say it was a long walk to my room but then I could have asked for assistance!

The location is very close to T5. Staff is really friendly. Check took me just 3-4 min. The rooms are old, but clean. I will give 3 not more than 3.5 star When I was booking, it saying 4 star. I dont think so. I will stay here again only if It will be not more than 50 pounds per room

Very close to Heathrow airport. The bar staff argued (shouting at each other) for the duration of our time in the bar. The Stella from the tap was flat but they didn't care when we pointed it out to them.

I booked this hotel so that I could leave my car at the hotel while I went abroad. Very close to heathrow, had shuttle buses to the terminals. Easy to find off the m25 The room service fee was far too high at £5 and the fish and chips were overpriced at £15 although they were fresh and well cooked. There was no information in the room as to what food was available in the restaurants with any menus except the room service one. Only one of the reception staff was English - the other staff were not native English speakers and were not clear with their speech. Surely this should be a consideration for employment?

The staff were absolutely fantastic on arrival and on departure. Extremely helpful on reception a credit to the hotel. The extremely, extremely thin walls, you could here everything next door! It was not mentioned anywhere about the £4.50 charge for the Hopper Bus and the fact there is a free public transport bus no 423 from terminal 5.

Location. Staff was wonderful. Disappointed in the room. It was very cramped and had a large crack down the wall and the paint was peeling of the ceiling. Was not confortable in this room and did not sleep well.

We required an overnight stay at Heathrow to enable us to catch an early morning flight. The hotel was well situated for Terminal 5 and good value for money and suprisingly quiet as it is near an airport

I chose the Thistle because it offered a competitive rate for a hotel close to Heathrow. The bed linens were clean and the bed was reasonably comfortable. The staff were polite and helpful. The room turned out to be a long hike from the check-in, however, and was in an older part of the hotel that badly needs refurbishing. Bedroom and bathroom were clean but looked faded and 20-years behind the times. I was surprised by the room's dated appearance because the website gives the impression that the entire hotel is modern and up-to-date. Presumably, the newer part of the hotel commands a higher price than I paid. I probably wouldn't recommend the Thistle to my friends.

Internet was not working - this was one of the reasons that I selected the hotel: close to airport for business trip following day, and intetnet connectivity for preparation. They advised that it would be working in 1 - 2 hours, but it clearly (with hindsight) was not going to be fixed that evening. They then said I could buy a voucher and try to connect, but if it didn't work the voucher was non-refundable - unacceptable

Dirty black stains on carpet. Noisy squeeky floor right outside my room that kept me awake whenever someone walked along the corridor. Hot airless room with air con that wasn't working that couldnt be fixed according to staff. And when I politely complained to the front desk on check-out about the squeeky floor in the corridor, he shrugged his shoulders and had the cheek so tell me "that was the room you booked".. I work at the airport and if I don't get a response I will be telling as many people as possible about my experience.

The convenience of being close to Heathrow Airport. Very sound proof windows - couldn't hear the aeroplanes at all even though I could see them landing from my window. Mattress very hard, pillows too spongy, heavy duvets - not comfortable at all. We requested 2 small cushions to use instead, which were kindly given for us to use instead. Had a few spiders (3 in total) crawling on the sheets, so maybe needs some fumigating. Toilets too close to wall making it very uncomfortable to sit normally - had to almost sit "side-saddle" when using loo.

Convenience of location to t5, excellent value for overnight stay. Availability of long term parking at a reasonable price for up to 5 days but it would be too expensive for longer number of days parking

We stayed at the Thistle because of its proximity to Heathrow as we had an early flight the next day. All in all the room was as expected. The bathroom was a little dated but none the less clean and presentable. The bed was very comfortable and the room well equiped. The double glazing is brilliant - right next to the airport but no noise! The reception staff were very pleasant and informative about the area. There is a shuttle bus to the various terminals (not sure if there is a charge for this) - and the Thistle does have rates for stay and park if you are holidaying.

The dining expeience is good - the chef came to chat after the meal. The view of the runway of Heathrow T5 is excellent. During the summer months I imagine the terrace is a great place to spend time drinking and chatting. The shower in the room didn't work. They truly were underprepared for the breakfast following the overnight snowstorm which caused staffing issues. Who runs out of breakfast? lol

The staff were efficient and welcoming. It was functional and met needs of a traveller passing through I had the impression it was nearer to Terminal 5 that it was in reality. The corridors are narrow and a bit claustrophobic - they need something to lighten thm up - it felt more like a dormitory than a hotel. I was late in arriving - 10pm+ but the food choice on offer at the Bar was not very apetizing and the qualityof the meal was poor and extremely poor value.I Am not sure it would have impressed an overseas visitor. I have been to other Thistle Hotels and expected better.I Would not rebook at this venue.

My short stay at the Heathrow Thistle was quite delightful. The staff were friendly, attentive and helpful both at reception and in the dining-room. The room was clean, tidy and comfortable. (Thank goodness the planes stop flying at night.). I enjoyed a very good chicken Wellington and delicious soup for dinner. And all for a very economic price. Best wishes Robert Douglas
