The location near Piccadilly Gardens station for public transport, and a short walk from the shopping area. No free wifi connection. Had to pay 6 pounds for a vourcher for 90 minutes.

Fair prices via booking.com For a business hotel really a big minus: no free Internet (neither WIFI nor LAN)! Therefore I can't recommend this hotel for business trips at all.

Good location for shops and taxi rank right outside. Secure parking around the back. The size of the room was a little small but comfortable for what we needed.

Clean, well located, well run hotel. Problem free and efficient. Room was small but that wasn't a major problem. Could really have done with a kettle though!

Staff very friendly and was good value for money. Location is perfect for going to the city. Like the security of the door being locked at night but think there should be a sign to let people know about this as I was unaware....luckily someone spotted me and let me in I would like to see two pillows per person on a bed as one isn't really enough

Very nice welcome at the reception. Indra was very nice, professional, efficient and polite: she immediately made me feel like I was home... I was very surprised when I noticed she had a "trainee" badge, so I can only guess the other staff might even be better! I didn't have a chance to enjoy the services of the hotel as I only stayed for a night, but everything looked well managed, efficiently working, clean and first class. Would definitely come back on future occasions. No free parking, but definitely I only very rarely found a free hotel parking in city centers europewide. The advantage here is that you have a public parking, just round the corner, 2 minutes walk away (quite expensive however, as it costed about 20 gbp for about 24 hours). The window in room scared me when I tried to open, as it looked like it was going to fall broken.

Location was great, hotel is close to everything. Health and leisure centre was perfect for a relax. The shower in the bathroom wasn't nice. In the morning the cleaner in the next room woke us up.

Location & Parking facilities. Even though I paid for a 'city view' room it was very, very small by comparison to other hotels I have stayed in right in the city! The walls were VERY thin and the location of my room (613) meant that I could clearly hear all passers by and every one standing chatting at the lifts which was very annoying 1st thing in the morning as we had a long drive back to London! The ‘Rrivate’ room next to our was (I think) a laundry room of some sort which meant that we could hear the machine noises though the walls all night which was another put off! The beds very quite uncomfortable, resulting in not a good night’s sleep and the bathroom could have been much cleaner. I felt that the price I paid for this room was clearly just based on the location and not enough effort on the actual rooms itself or the size, which means that next time I will be visiting Manchester (or recommending to friends/family) I will just choose another hotel but definitely will not be coming back to The Thistle.

The site is really great, very near the centre and the railway station. It's very conveninet to buy something at the tesco, just turn a corner. And lots of restaurants near this hotel. Because of the location, I think the price is just ok. My room is very small not same as the pictures on the website. And the bathroom is dirty not so clean. The most of all is I found the used cream when I wanted to drink tea. It's really dirty that I think the staff doesn't check everything in the room carefully. Also, the air conditioner is not so good. Only has the cold air without hot air.

Was able to check in early. Simple clean modern design. Breakfast area too crowded. Internet not included in price. But it was a good speedy connection.
