Staff very friendly The beds, as seems to be the case with so may hotels were rock hard. A park bench would have been more comfortable. Rock hard mattresses cause me significant back and hip pain, and indeed are not good for backs. Sorry, I would be using this chain of hotels again.

The receptionist at check-in was extremely helpful and upgraded us from a twin room to a double room with no problems. Room was nice and clean, spa facilities were good. Overall comfort was good. Room was a little bit noisy from outside noise. Car Parking was an issue, as we arrived at the hotel late at night, we could not get a space in the car park, there really should be enough spaces for the amount of guests.

Really don't know what to write here, this was the best place in town and that says it all for me.....hotels in the UK just have a completely different standard than that from the main land! Tinny room, lots of dust, stopper in the bath tub that didn't work, an empty fridge! But like I said before this is the best they could offer in Middlesbourgh.....apperently there is no market for a better hotel!

Clean , good location Swimming pool closed too early . Meals - especially breakfast not good value for money as I had to pay full price for young children - and they did not have a full breakfast - (£10 for tea and one weetabix)

I enjoyed the welcome I got on arrival and ur staff was very helpfull... Continur the good work Ur parking really annoyed me and as a resident there was no parking for us and after an hour or so finally found a parking. Then after all that u decided to charge me for parking in the car park. I think its pretty low to do that u can charge ppl who are not staying there not someone who is... And sadly I do sleep in a lot of hotels cos I travel a lot ur the first ones to ever charge for that service..AMEND That its not justifiable. Or jus include it in ur price

easy to find just off major A road central location good car parking facilities near to train station with senic route to whibty a must handy for darlington nice little town with good rail museum handy for touring both coast and country side agood base to stay in a comfortable hotel with swimming pool and excellent prices as this visit was over a bank holiday weekend we would have expected the leisure facilities to be open as per hours indicated in hotel information but no facilities closed early due to it being a bank holiday who wants to go out for the day and enjoy the surrouding coast countryside only to find at the end of the day when a relaxing swim cannot be enjoyed last entry 18.00 hrs - very poor indeed

Rooms spotlessly clean, corridors also spotless. The bed and bedding were very comfortable. The food in the restaurant was excellent and well priced. An excellent stay and good value for the business traveller. Small gym, but ok for a city centre hotel.

Location of the hotel was perfect for the purpose of our visit, and was very central to the town centre, and easy to find. Food was great. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was very small for a double room, and with 2 adults and a baby, it was very cramped. Have stayed in a differanct thistle previously and thier rooms were bigger.

The hotel is central and has on site parking. Staff are very helpful and friendly. Although the room was initially cold the staff sooin put that right and even brought a convector heater should it be required - it was'nt once the heating had been adjusted.

Very relaxing with great amenities. Was nice to be able to relax in the pool/spa before going out and again before leaving. A great time was had and would defiantly return. There was a bit of confusion relating to the breakfast price. This was resolved very quickly. Still confused as to the process.

The hotel is in a good central location, easy to find and has good parking facilities. I also benefitted from a special winter rate, the stay being between Christmas and New Year, an obvious quiet time for this type of hotel.

The Thistle hotel was a lovley place to stay. The whole hotel was spotlessly clean. The best thing about this hotel was the staff! They were all so friendly and helpful! Thank you all! One problem we had was the parking. It took us a long time to wait for a space.

Central location nicely designed hotel. Food good. The breakfast is ridiculously expensive. And to be honest overall this doesn't make this hotel an affordable option. The door handles were hanging mist of the doers in the corridor to our room. No one seemed to notice or put this right. Thebar was often left un manned.
