“ Everything! From our warm and friendly reception to check out, we were treated like important guests. The staff were the most friendly and professional I have come across. Newhall is steeped in history yet is thoroughly modern and luxurious. Best night's sleep in a hotel for a long time. Breakfast was in it's quality and variety. ”

The 800-year-old New Hall Hotel & Spa is 8 miles (12.9 km) from central Birmingham. Following a renovation, the health club, spa, and well-furnished rooms blend with the hotel’s medieval character. New Hall Hotel offers modern British hospitality in the North-Birmingham suburb of Sutton Coldfield. It is just off the M42 motorway and 20 minutes from the NEC. The hotel is set in 26 acres of mature, elegant grounds and is widely reputed to be the oldest inhabited moated manor house in England. The moat is home to migrating ducks and geese and some of the largest carp in the Midlands. Each room is different, and has free broadband, fine cotton sheets and comfortable bathrobes. There are also free toiletries, homemade biscuits and freshly ground coffee available. New Hall has a restaurant, a brasserie and a terrace for al fresco dining. Stunning building, stunning surroundings, the staff were friendly, helpful, accomodating, couldnt have been more helpful. The food was fantastic also. I will definately be going back to enjoy more of their facilities.

Check in, breakfast, spa staff all very friendly. Beautiful surroundings.Lovely room. We went for afternoon tea in the lounge but sat there for a good 10 mins before anybody came to us to ask what we wanted.

Excellent room. Good attention to detail. Many nice touches. Would certainly stay again. Late dining (but we hadn't booked dinner). Slightly disappointing steak, perhaps unlucky on this occasion.

comfy rooms, good food The wine started at £23 per bottle which is unacceptable in this day and age. An acceptable bottle of Red Merlot from their list cost me £30.00. I suspect that their margin on this was probably £26.00 which made me feel that I was being treated like a mug. I only bought one bottle, we would normally have bought two, and we would normally have stayed in the bar all evening (spending money). However, we returned to our room and drank our own bottle instead ! I felt that the hotel was not luxurious enough to have justified the price charged (nearly £200 for dinner bed and breakfast for one night). For that price I expect plush luxury and fine dining, which this was not.

the breakfast was great, the hotel and grounds were really beautiful, staff were very friendly and helpful we both didnt think our bed was very comfortable and also the toilet seat in the bathroom was loose, other than that we had a lovely time
