The view over the busy harbour from our room. The size and design of the room. The views from the restaurant. Many nice restaurants, pubs, boat trips etc. nearby.
Having to pay for the car park. Breakfast. Most items were just tepid, warmest was the scrambled egg which had cooked solid in the heated server.
The location was the main reason for booking this hotel & this could not be faulted. We did not encounter many staff but those we did were pleasant & friendly.
The room decor was tired & not what I would expect for the price we paid for the room. Also the WiFi was so slow that we used our own data allowance instead !
The view the position of the hotel is second to none superb
Decor tatty and dated especially in the bathroom . The outside seating area tatty scruffy dirty
The location right near shops and water front and being able to park car on site
the restaurant and variety of the choices. local bus calls at the door.
very good location and very comfortable room and bathroom very nice. very clean.
breakfast was very expensive, we didn't bother, found somewhere nearby that was better value.
Helpful staff, good parking, clean large rooms
Excellent location with walk outside to shops and pubs, and to other shops and restaurants short walk close by. Large car park. Very convenient for overnight stopover before catching the early morning ferry to Cherbourg. Comfort, facilities and attentive service from a fine modern hotel. Incredible service to be emailed in good time to be warned of a motor cycle show that filled blocked up the quay that evening.
The position of the hotel
The size and comfort of the bed, Quality of toilet rolls
Hotel very comfortable and staff very friendly and helpful
Clean Hotel.Great Views
Very Expensive Food
The rooms are large enough and well enough equipped for a stay................
However we stayed at this hotel many years ago and the room decor/furnishings have not changed in that time. They are very tired and old fashioned looking compared to other chain hotels who have re-branded and have a fresh, clean, modern image
We only stopped one night as we were guests at a wedding in another venue so there was not much time to assess the Hotel fully. we appreciated being able to park our car while attending the wedding elsewhere.
On arrival we had to wait a long time at reception as the only person on duty had to deal with so many others. In the morning we were disturbed by someone loading empty beer barrels into a van outside our window - very noisy!
Everything about this hotel is lovely. The staff are friendly, the accommodation is great, the views are wonderful (must have a sea view), the breakfast on offer was better than any other I have had.
Expensive - but not a bad thing really. Needs to be expensive due to prime location and there are no other hotels as close to the harbour - literally opposite!
Mould round window frames in bedroom and bathroom. Basin resurfacing peeling. Shaver point lacked electricity. Walls so thin that groaning from room next door caused sleeplessness!
Tired worn out furniture small rooms
Tired 80s decor Bar area smelled of fish
For what I paid for the room, I was expecting a completely different experience. Very basic and dated, would rather have booked elsewhere.
fantastic location overlooking the harbour. clean and tidy room, however could do with freshening up. the hotel in general was very satisfying!
breakfast a disaster. cold food, cold plates. scrambled egg like rubber. a buffet selection that needed freshly cooked items, not constantly reheated. At £10 a head really not good value. having to pay for parking unacceptable, surely, should be free for paying residents!
The location is very good for Poole Quay and town centre
Girl at check in was not very friendly didn't make us feel welcome Had to pay to park as hotel share parking with the public, car didn't feel secure.
Paying £10 on top of room fee for breakfast
Bar closed when we returned to hotel at 11 other guests also wanted drinks. Goodish rate on booking.com which was reflected in the room allocation. Small. . . Near the noisy lift. . Room had am adjoining door to next room. . Could hear everything!!! Room quite worn.
