Leisue centre, young lady in there was the most helpful ,friendly member of staff.
Location, breakfast greatly improved on previous stay
Having to interrupt conversations at reception to get service. Other family members having to ask for help as the mum was disabled. No monitoring of people parking in disabled slots.,
Comfortable, clean and spacious room. Good location. Bar meal and breakfast good. Friendly staff.
Bar prices a bit steep.
Location of the hotel and the food.
We were woken three times during the night. On the first occasion it was by a member of a wedding party, the second was the fire alarm going off and the third by a women calling the phone.
Breakfast was good with good choice but if we wanted anything different had to pay full charge.
Bathroom was awful with cracked tiles and hot tap too close to wall so could not turn on. No hot water in morning as boiler broke down.
The Breakfast here is to die for always has been ...need to go back to the buffet luncheons .....would do well .....
This Hotel needs needs to get some ordinary Scotch whiskey in ...and re-look at bar stock ..come on boys your in England now ....
The room & breakfast was excellent. A very nice venue to stay & easy to get to places
Excellent pool and gym facilities. Excellent breakfasts and polite, helpful staff. Nice old building with pretty gardens
Noisy neighbours at very unsocial hours. A bit too far out of town to walk so car required as bus service unreliable. Room a bit small, no lift to get to first floor rooms
Large, quiet and comfortable bedroom. Friendly and cheerful staff on reception and in the breakfast room. Good breakfast - husband really enjoyed the full English and I enjoyed the fresh fruit selection and croissants! Decent value for money all round. Good parking. Generally enjoyed our stay.
A choice of pillows (good thank you) but no extra blanket or cover stored in the wardrobe to put onto the bed if needed. (I like the bedroom window open at night so need extra covers to be warm - used my coat.) No warm milk in my morning coffee - asked for it but it never materialized! Just small things but they make a difference to the quality of the stay and are very easy to put right.
COMFORT SERVICE CLEANLINESS LOCATION FRIENDLIONESS OF STAFF
Fairly close to saint albans however very busy roads in the morning
Small dark room with small bed everything a bit shabby Cold restaurant with inattentive staff
Great spa and gym.
Shower had low pressure. Breakfast selection was ok but not great.
Friendly and helpful staff who went the extra mile
Only stayed for one night but everything was ok and will stay there again.
Nothing to complain about.
I payed extra for a deluxe room, and it was exactly the same as a normal double room. Staff told me the extras were complimentary bottles of water and a shampoo!
The lovely pool and spa, and fast wifi. Friendly staff and comfortable room.
Room a bit too hot, and very slow service at dinner time.
Short staffed at dinner and long wait, but food was very good
I liked the comfy bed and the view over green fields to the rear of the hotel. The lady on reception at check-in was very friendly.
I think I need more space to write this report. Tables full of dirty dishes in the bar at 8pm when only six people were in there. One couple were "making out" on one seat beside us.Call me old fashioned but they needed a room - badly. We left without ordering. We tried a lounge outside the top restaurant and received a warm glass of white wine. No apology or even a comment from the barman when I returned the wine. This lounge had unlit bare wooden tables scattered around. Not a candle or fresh flower in sight on Valentine,s night. This room looked like a store-room out the back. We decided to have supper in our room and the food was fine and hot. Breakfast was in the restaurant where we were greeted by a mature lady who couldn,t be more unfriendly. No time for small talk. The staff in this hotel looked like they have had enough, and so had I. If I had been travelling alone on business I would definately have left the night before.
Staff at the reception and during the breakfast were very polite and friendly.
We should be informed about the pool time once we arrive, I have asked at the reception and they said up to 8pm we could use the pool. We had a problem in our room and had to be relocated and then when we were ready to go to the Leisure Centre the staff (not a pleasant one) said that we could not use with our son, only up to 6:30. I had to go and leave my partner and son waiting outside, upon arriving the jaccuzi (spa) and steam were out of order, well it's disappointing because when I choose a hotel I only want the ones that have those facilities and we expect to be find them fully working. Curry with rice, was not cheap or tasty, it was the same like ready meals from a supermarket.
WiFi didn't work.
Very comfortable bed. Cleanliness of all areas. Welcoming reception staff. Good selection at breakfast. Leisure facilities.
Very friendly staff, lovely food, lovely room.
All - especially gym/spa facilities.
