The best thing that the The Royal Trafalgar-Thistle can be most proud of is it's staff-everyone was very friendly, helpful and accommodating. Our bellboy was very nice and funny, and gave us a great impression of the city. Aside from it's staff, the hotel's location was excellent...we were able to walk everywhere!! and come back in and out of the hotel because of it's vicinity to everything. Our room was very clean, and had everything we needed. We had an excellent time. |

Excellent location/ friendly and helpful staff/ quiet and large room: tea and coffee maker in the room According to booking.com there were smoking rooms available. However when we arrived it seemed the hotel was "non smoking"... With all respect for non-smokers, smokers also have some rights. It's not agreable to pay a lot of money for a room and to have to stand outside in the raind and the cold....!!!! |

The hotel was perfectly situated in the centre of London. Even though places in the middle of a big city the room was conviniently quiet. The staff was helpfull. The hotel was quite unmodern, the pictures of the hotel mostly applies to one of five floor and the entrance. The staff seamed a bit bored and there was no minibar in the room. |

The location is excellent - a few minutes from Piccadilly Circus, Leicester Square, theatres etc..The room was very quiet and we slept well.. The breakfast was good, but service a little slow at the 8:30 time - better later. Also, the deluxe room didn't seem any different to the standard room where we normally stay at this hotel - no bathrobes etc. |

I liked the central location The staff on reception could find no record of my booking. The room was very small , the bathroom was grubby and the towels old and grey. |

The hotel is centrally situated and this the only good thing about it. The service and attitude of the staff was very very poor see below. Two small milks = one cup of coffee or tea each for each room is very sad . When we ask for more, they sent someone up just two more . the cost of that staff coming up to our room costs more than 2 small milks, this is pathetic. We had paid for breakfast but the staff wanted to see proof of payment. This attitude and service is very very bad. |

The location of the hotel could not have been better. It was on the doorstep of all the main tourist attractions, shopping and theatres. The staff were very helpful and the room very clean. |

Even the standard double room had excellent facilities & plenty of space. The hotel location is perfect for easy access to most of London, both by tube & places to walk to. All in all, excellent value. |

Great central location! Close to all main attractions, but located in a quiet street. Room was good, but I have reserved deluxe room from the beginning in order to get one of proper size (standard room would be to small for sure -this is true for majority of London hotels located in the center). There was no refrigerator/mini-bar in the room which was strange... Breakfast was OK, but there were no vegetables and fruits (I guess it is because they are not considered to be part of the standard English breakfast). However, in some other Thistle hotels you get much more great food for the same price as here... |

Location. Almost everything is within easy walking distance. We didn't even need a metro card. Leicester square is awesome and the selection of restaurants is mind blowing. Hotel is located on a very charming, peaceful and quiet street. Staff was excellent, very professional and helpful. One of the staff members was even kind enough to fix our suitcase in the middle of the night, wow! Our standard room was very large and spotlessly clean with a nice view towards London Eye over the rooftops. Hotel restaurant and bar are charming and they create nice atmosphere. If you're into arts, National Gallery is literally around the corner. Opposite hotel entrance are several shops; sandwich shops, barber, massage, minimarket etc. Pillows were absolutely horrible; chubby and stony. My neck is still hurting :). Soundproofing wasn't too good, could hear talking from other rooms and from the corridor. Shower was bad (as it seems to be in most english hotels!). Still, at this price and star rating I would have expected a little bit more comfortable shower. |
