the first room they gave me was just above the bus station in victoria..tremendously loud and noisy like there were no windows...I asked to change the room and they gave me a room where the heaters where not working..they brought to my room an electric heater..which again was not working (dirty and without wheels)...they brought to me another electric heater...I paid 118 pounds for a dirty room, awful, with broken and dirty carpet.Unacceptable!

The very convenient location By check-in and check-out there was big confusion about breakfast included or not. I booked room with breakfast and it took a long time for the staff to understand it. Then again by check-out which took over 20 minutes because I had to explain once again and nobody made a note about it the day before. So the service-level was not satisfactory.

The location it was right next to main line, underground & bus station. Lots of attractions in easy walking distance. A few things in the room. The hook up shower didn't work (had to shower using a hand held one) & no bath plug. Also the room was a long way from reception & some of the stairs had no lift access.

We checked in on July 5th at 7.30 am the receptionist new we needed the room for 4 hours only since we had to be at Harwich around 2.00 pm He gave us room #210 for 154.80 sterling. The room was without ac and the fan was useless and noisy . And when we checked out the elevators were out of order we had to carry our luggage down from 2nd floor In other words we should have stayed at Victoria Station we definitely would have been more comfortable .

Great location, next to Victoria Station, close to Backhingham Palace, Soho etc..Nice look of the hotel - old and stylish. Old furnitures, equipment, so old windows in the rooms that the wind was coming insiding and it was really cold. We had to change the room, unfortunatelly in the next room the problem with old windows and wind insinside the room appear again. No heating, and as we know England is a cold country, in the hotel for such a price should be this provided.

The staff were extremely attentive and helpful. There was no question too big or too small to have their undivided attention and polite service. My daughter and I felt much safer travelling in a big city in an unfamiliar country knowing they were there to help. The location of the hotel was excellent - very central with "indoor" access to Victoria rail/tube station, walking distance from tourist sites such as Buckingham Palace, Westminster Abbey, Big Ben, the London Eye, and a cosy pub just accross the road for a quiet beer.

The Grosvenor is a very nice hotel located well to downtown London and easily available from the train station (located below the hotel). It is well appointed with a beautiful lobby, helpful concierge service and comfortable rooms. For all its good services, I felt the Grosvenor to be hugely overpriced, not at all worth the insane amount of money I spent for two nights there. I avoided the breakfast entirely (priced at over $45 American, 30 pounds English) and opted for a short walk to a nice little shop around the corner and visiting with the people on the street instead. I have been told by friends that this is normal for London, that it is a very expensive city. I have heard this line used on many other cities and found it not to be true too many times; only the unwillingness to search for bargains makes it expensive. I will not be staying there again.

Room was clean and tidy. Will be a nice hotel once the building work is done. its a little off putting to have so much scaffold above the main reception area. i would not recomend the hotel until all building work is finished, as no point staying in a nice hotel that has scaffold running through the middle of it. Scaffold dosent look pretty no matter what you do with it May as well stay in a lesser hotel that dosent have scaffold running through!!

The staff were very friendly and help full. The beds were comfortable and clean. The towels huge and soft. Good location for us. I'm reaching here. The room we got was terrible. No air conditioning, no frig. It was so hot my poor husband who has copd was up all night because he couldn't breath. We ordered room service and got some beer sent up to the room and they wouldn't leave the bottle opener. How can you open a bottle of beer without an opener. Next morning our room service took almost two hours to arrive and then only after we called again. The toilets wouldn't flush so you had to stand there flushing and flushing. The hotel in undergoing major renovations. I guess we got the old rate on the old rooms.

Location, location, location Poor service and inflexible staff. Poor value for money. Could not check in until 2 pm. Could not get extension by even 1 hour. As an experienced business traveller, this was poorest experience for two hotel rooms costing so much. Needless to say that I would never come back or ever recommend this hotel.

The excellent location. Daytime entrance directly from Victoria station. Grandeur of the hotel lobby, magnificent staircase etc., not matched by the old-fashioned and rather shabby facilities of the room. I am answering 'Yes' to the final part of this question, but with some reservation.

Being close to The Mango Tree restaurant. The value of the room and services for the money, as my usual choices of hotels were not available at the time of booking: The check-in staff obviously didn't take into account my comments in the reservation form as they had put me in one of the darkest and most isolated rooms in the back of the hotel, on the 1st floor, with the window blocked by the ugly roof of Victoria station, just above the local pub (very noisy), and without any possibility to connect through my 3g usb stick... And for once, when I needed to iron my shirts, there was none available... They should at least (if the hotel is fully booked, as they said) propose a discount for such rooms... I am not about to use this hotel anytime soon.

The staff was absolutely increditable. The concierge staff was more than accommodating. They helped us with the room, the electrical plug set up, confirming tour and flight, transport to the airport, and guidance around the city. We can't say enough nice things about the staff of this hotel. By us standards, the prices in London are high. For the sights we wanted to see, this hotel was a perfect location-Buckingham Palace, etc.

The hotel is easy to find, with a doorway off Victoria Centre Concourse. The lobby is very grand and the reception staff were friendly and effecient. The room was very small and needed an overhaul. No coffee/tea making facilities in the room. The shower curtain wouldn't stay in the tray, so the tiny bathroom ended up with a wet floor. Very old fashioned!

This hotel is very lousy at service. We booked with booking.com almost 3-4 weeks before and they end up giving us a room with a broken ventilation in the bathroom. I sweat everytime I spend more than 5 minutes in the bathroom. The whole hotel only has one lift. During my stay, the hotel lift broke down and I have to carry my son and his stroller from level 3 to ground floor each time. This hotel should be marked as not suitable for family with children stay. I would not recommend my friend to this hotel.

The newly refurbished roo we stayed in was very good Th room service. We had a train to catch next morning and ordered a breakfast in our room, this was late, the order was mixed up and the whole organisation behind this was poor. I had to make two telephone calls to remind staff about our breakfast and it was still late.

I stayed on the 4th Floor Wing Annexe. This part of the hotel has been beautifully refurbished. Reached along wide carpeted corridors, the rooms are spacious and well furnished with very good facilities. Staff were relaxed and good humoured, but very courteous and efficient too. The hotle is located right inside Victoria Railway Station , and so could not be more convenient. Very good window glazing, room air-conditioning and very comfortable beds ensures there is no disturbance at night. Room service drinks were rather expensive.
