Spacious room and very comfortable bed..
The breakfast was good if you wanted a cooked breakfast.I would suggest serving some artisan breads and croissants and perhaps cheeses and hams
Our room was dual aspect with lovely river views from both windows. It was clean and well presented. We walked across the adjacent bridge to catch a river boat to Bath and found this the ideal way to travel to and from the city during the day. The staff were friendly and helpful and breakfast was good.
The outside of the building desperately needs decorating and updating as do some areas of the inside. The "lodge" at the back looked most uninviting and I think if our room had been out there we may not have booked in. The hotel is poorly signposted from the main road.
The staff, the help with our cases
Bathroom had mould in corners. Dirty glass in bathroom. Ripped bed sheet. Really small bathroom..
Great room looking out onto the waterwheel and river. Great restaurant and breakfast. Altogether fantastic plus second time there. Not far is a boat into Bath good experience
nothing to complain about oh yes there is paying for Wifi not on really expencive
Peaceful & tranquil, excellent location on fringe of town supported by bus & boat travel to CBD. Two excellent pubs in close proximity. good walking tracks! Excellent full English breakfast to start the day off and staff of great local assistance.
Extra timed fee for wifi, although contract with provider being re negotiated.
friendly staff, beautiful views from public rooms bed was comfy
room was quite small double bed pushed up against wall so the one on the inside had to climb over to visit loo in the middle of night ..... not so good when you're more mature and need to get out of bed a few times in the night!
The staff ability to assist when ever you required anything and no matter what time
Small room Very warm room with no heating on so window open and noise
Loved the views looking out onto the Avon.
The whirlpool bath spa didn't work.
Lovely scenery clean modern room
Outer building rooms very small ok for one night or one person
The location was lovely with a convenient boat trip into the city, saves on parking fees. Staff friendly and helpful, especially when the hairdryer did not work, there within 15 mins to try and mend and when couldn't brought in a little travel one.
Although the beds were reasonably comfortable, (a bit soft for me) they did not seem to be a full single and if it had been my older son (6ft 4ins) rather than my younger one he would have had great difficulty.
Nice setting great pub across the bridge.
Where do I start the list would be too long!!!!!!!!!!! Avoid staying in the lodge perhaps the hotel rooms maybe better.
- the location - great view of the river - the sweet room - the cot for our daughter - the breakfast
- the shower - there is only one tap - a strange design
The mattresses were very uncomfortable and I was unable to get a good night sleep
Views of river from our room boat to town never managed to catch as did not keep to timetable. Bus from main road was frequent . Food was nice and setting for breakfast was lovely. Stairs could be a problem for some as no lift. Good service from hard working staff!
Bed a bit hard for our liking. Stairs to 2nd floor steep. No lift .
Ambience, location,facilities, Restaurant
Key didn't work nor did the spa
Everything, the staff were very friendly. The food was excellent. We liked the idea of being able to get the boat into Bath. We went as a birthday treat for my 75th. The attitude of the staff and the setting made the weekend very special.
The setting and surrounds. The bed room.
The shower could have been better.
The location is the only positive comment I can give on this SHABBY HOTEL.
Shabbiness Damp smelling rooms (room 111) Threadbare and stained carpets Third bed in room was a CAMP BED!!! Dusty wood Broken bath panel Cracked floor tiles No bedside lamps, clock or iron Lack of toiletries Sparse decor Cold cooked breakfast Staff intent in promoting an unnecessary boat trip into town Noise levels high - wedding on No help with luggage Money paid in advance so stuck with hotel!
The setting was beautiful.
Room was falling apart. Key didn't work so we had to get the reception everytime we wanted to go in and out. Shower didn't work, drain seemed to be blocked so it overflowed. Bath wouldn't drain and couldn't change the temperature of the water, so it was boiling. You have to pay for wi-fi. Room was hot and stuffy, no fly screen to aerate room. Room was also small.
Location on the river avon. Breakfast room overlooks the tolls bridge and river. Chairs and small grassed area under the toll bridge overlooking the weir (I am into water big time). Breakfast very good and Rockhampton Mill on other side of bridge does a lovely shared platter main and shared dessert which we both enjoyed. Water boat stops at rockhampton mill for journey into Bath. Ferry finishes early in September but there are a number of buses just up the road. I never knew there were still toll bridges for crossing a bridge built hundreds of years ago (local tradition). and it was lovely to come across it.
boat ferry return in September did not allow for us to do the return journey as finished too early.
The hotel was in a pretty setting, staff were friendly and it was close to Bath without being in the centre of the city.
The carpet in the room was heavily stained and could do with being replaced, the shower did not work well and the hotel could have made far more of the beautiful setting.
The staff were very friendly and helpful, very clean and ideal if you want somewhere nice and relaxing.
The only problem was the shower head kept slipping down.
Everything especially the view of the river and weir and the boat trip to town.
