Rooms was clean and had everything in we needed! Did us all perfectly for the one night!
There was a bit of a funky smell in the bar area as you walk in. And also in the corridor of one of the rooms we booked.
Staff were friendly when around
Black mould in the bathroom, one room had a broken toilet, no heating until 5pm! Douvets were tiny, theres never anyone in reception, remote control didnt work. One of our party didnt sleep under the covers as bed seemed already slept-in! I didnt even try the shower as there was black mould, the basin looked un-steady and there was no hairdryer in the room anyway.
Room 11: Light switch on bed headboard broken, floor needs renovating, wifi didn't work
no car park
Clean, comfortable bed, close to all amenities, lovely breakfast. Free wifi
Broken toilet seat
Toilet flush broken in ensuite. Felt this should be repaired before charging £55 per night for double room; Also stairs extremely steep - concerned about fire exit.
Not a bad location, contact staff were friendly but not experienced.
Lack of internet connection. Lights broken Remote did not work Shower door broken No milk with coffee/tea facilities Bar staff left to deal with a hotel job Poor all round
proximity to the train station
lack of cleaness; creaky floor; noisy neighbor; drafts from the window; crumbling sliding shower door.
The location and the ease of parking .
Where do I start, everywhere needed a good clean, the TV didn't work, there was a hole in the bathroom floor, only 1 towel between 2 people, shower doors were hanging off n the noise from the bar below us went on till stupid o'clock. No breakfast inc not worth the money
The location was good for my needs and also close to the train station. The man who checked me in was nice & friendly.
The room was tiny, badly in need of an update & certainly not worth the price paid. ( I paid only 88p more to stay at the Birmingham Hilton 2 wks prior!) The free wifi service was poor. The place has no lifts, 3 flights of stairs with luggage is no fun!! The bed was the most uncomfortable thing I have ever slept in & I was almost afraid to breathe near it incase it went into another noisy squeaking frenzy! Reception was closed when I left or I would've complained :( The
Room lovely. Bulb out but replaced quickly.
Steep stairs to top room- not for the faint hearted !!
the room was lovley and clean we were changed from a twin to a double room with a four poster bed, which was really nice with high ceiling and lovely beems, the location is great for all the shops and restaurants etc, the tea and coffee facilities were good with good quality products.
there was a nice area in the room with a dressing table, which wasn't useable as the lighting was not sufficiant, but this could easily be put right, and the shower base could do with replacing.
The location close to the train station was what I wanted for this overnight stop. Excellent wifi and great water-pressure in the shower.
The room needs some tlc, there's a large piece of wallpaper ripped off the wall, the room needs re-painting and the bathroom floor could do with tiling.
Closeness to station
Broken shower door, torn curtain, uneven and unsafe bathroom floor, only one hand and one bath towel in twin room for 2, reception poor and closed in morning when we wanted to speak to the manager, only a barman available to speak to about our complaints and great difficulty in getting to speak to the absent manager
Not worth the money for the size of the room
Struggled to find reception until I realised I needed to go to the bar
Bed was comfy and linen was clean. Bar was cheap but that's about as far as it went.
Carpets and chairs in room were a bit grubby. Bottom of shower base had fallen off and the shower door came off when I closed it!
The staff are lovely & incredibly patient & helpful & the room was spacious & modern. The bed was clean & very comfortable.
The room hadn't been adequately prepared. There wasn't an information folder, the hairdryer was missing, there were no working lights in the bathroom, the wifi didn't work & both the bathroom floor & the shower tray were broken. While wearing high heels I carried my own suitcase, unescorted to my room, up five flights of stairs.
Cheap hotel Ok, if you don't mind the noise from the pub downstairs...
Location was great, good value for money, just what i wanted
If people are offended by a bit of pub noise it might out them off
Comfortable clean room. Comfortable temperature, not hot like so many hotels in towns and cities.
Reception closed on arrival, bar area a bit grubby and went out for breakfast.
Everything about the hotel. And the price
Room was poor, peeling wallpaper. Very dated and tired. Very noisy until 2am Expensive
Where do we start. This hotel (more hostel) is above a bar that plays live music until 3am at weekends (2am the rest of the week) and there is no sound proofing even on the top floor. When we arrived there was no one there and we had to wait 30 mins for any one to check us in, as we walked up the stairs with the dirty carpet and mouldy walls we started to wonder what we had done. We booked the room with the 4 poster bed which looked lovely from the picture, but was cheep rubish with the curtains safety pinned on. There was no way to turn off the lights from the bed and no phone sockets, but finally (after 3am when the music stopped) we got some sleep, but the worst was still to come. In the morning we went to shower and realised there was a hole in the bathroom floor, we realised there was no extractor fan and the shower tray was broken. As I pulled the shower door across it fell on me and I realised it was not attached, we got out of there as fast as possible. The fact they call it a hotel at all is a joke, the fact they charge £70 is robbery. Take this hotel off your site booking.com !
