Fantastic double room with double aspect windows overlooking the harbour and Town Hall. Room facilities excellent (including two small bottles of wine and chocolates!) - great value for money and will be back.

Room we stayed in was nice - large windows, high ceiling, comfortable. Noisy room (despite the double glazing) as above a fairly busy road next to the docks. Also v thin curtains so bad for those who like their rooms dark!

Friendly, patient and helpful staff (even when I changed my arrival arrangements), and an excellent room. The room was always warm, with a bright, contemporary feel to the design/furnishings. Lots of little touches (wine, chocolates, tissues etc) made it a very stylish and welcoming place to stay. The only thing which I didn't like was the strong smell of fried breakfasts drifting up the stairs and into the room in the mornings. As someone who does not eat breakfast, such a strong cooking smell is quite off-putting.

It was in a good location for what I wanted to do. Breakfast was excellent. The room was too warm at night for me but may suit others.

Convenient position, breakfasts were adequate. Not particularly good value for money. Lack of staff on view We did not see anyone except at breakfast. We did not know who to contact if a problem arose. There was aproblem in the room with a leaking window and no one to tell except the cleaner.

The location of the Guest House in the centre of Stornoway is ideal for arriving off the ferry from Ullapool and to use as a base for touring the Island of Lewis. It is handy for shops, visitor attractions also and the bus station. The staff were very friendly, polite and went out of their way to be helpful. The quality of the rooms are good and very fairly priced.

Excellent. Clean & comfortable. We arrived early and asked if we could leave our luggage, but were informed our rooms were ready and we could go straight to them, this was much appreciated. The young man in reception/waiter/handyman was very pleasant, helpfull and a great asset to the Guest House. Nothing - well, if I am being picky I would say the water pressure in the shower was low.

Excellent location in the certain of town, overlooking the harbour. Good-sized room with tasteful decor. Tea/coffee facilities and courtesy red and white wine - a nice touch. Welcoming host, interested in guests' comfort.

Comfortable and clean beds and most satisfying breakfast with plenty choices and portion size. Vacate rooms at 11 a.m. - excellent, therefore no rush after a hearty breakfast !

clean room, nice welcome pack in room. but no person available on reception, but did leave letter explaining, so not too much problem. Good TV. comfortable bed, beside the sea but still quiet. not quite as expected, as no staff available on arrival on Monday early evening, but key and explanation letter was available, (things happen)

Very nice rooms, clean, great location right in town, across from the ferry, easy access to restaurants. Excellent breakfast, service and food. We were late (after 1900) getting there; the key and information packet was laid out for us with my name on it. Free parking across the street. M. Kelly We were supposed to have a room with double/queen bed; got two singles instead; staff apologized next morning; apparently out "designated" room was undergoing some renovation. Beds were nice; had a problem with the bathroom light; fixture was shorting out; they tried to fix it but it still didn't work. Overall, nothing happened that would prevent me from staying there again. M. Kelly

The bathroom was very nice & obviously just been re-furbished. 2 small bottles of complmentary wine was a nice touch & extra water in a back room fridge was good. Nobody on the reception when we arrived or any other time for that matter, very impersonal & made us feel unwelcome. We had breakfast which we knew was in a cafe next door but felt we should of eaten it quicker so the cafe could open. When we got our cooked breakfast we had to wait 3/4 mins on cutlery as we had to wait on cups for our tea & coffee.

Our host was really helpful, and she was very cheery - made all the difference. The facilities were fine. Nothing critical, but personally I couldn't get on the wi-fi, and the shower wasn't as piping hot as I personally would have wanted (room 1) - but these were minor - it was a great place!
