An excellent choice for our first English B&B. The owners were friendly, helpful and clearly enjoyed what they do. We would happily recommend it to others looking for a country escape.

The owners made us feel at home. Warm, friendly and always with a welcoming smile. We were referred to in first name terms, which I thought was superb attention to detail.

Room was slightly on the small side, but nothing which would put me off going back again.

the rooms are so small, conjested. The passage is too congested that you cant climb or walk. there is no lift, you have to climb a steep staircase which is too narrow. similarly for breakfast, you have to go underground in a narrow stairs. Restaurants are far that you walk minimum 5 KM for food.

The couple(owner) is very warm and friendly, service is fantastic. The place is very clean, not a speck of dust can be found. Breakfast is deliciously good.

There isn't any lift to the upper floors.

Excellent location halfway between Bowness and Windermere. Very clean guest house with excellent breakfasts and hosts. Having its own car park is a megaplus. Would recommend it to anyone.

The advertised 'free wifi' was virtually non existent due to poor reception in the area - this should be noted as we use wifi to plan our next day.

A little bit small

Thornbank Guest House was a lovely and freindly place it wasnt much of a walk to both Windermere and Bowness, and the rooms was lovely. Both me and my partner had a really enjoyable stay and would definatley recommend Thornbank Guest House to others.

The vaccating time was very early.

the room was really cold the bathroom window was locked open and we couldnt close it also could do with a small lounge area as our room was small okay for a couple of days but not a week

spotless rooms and dinning room , breakfast was great(with an excellent ordering system) owners were friendly and extremley helpful,great location .Over all could not find fault and would stay again.
