The staff was very friendly jane and mark ,, thinks the locations was excellent between windermere and bowness 10mins walk to windermere and the same to bowness The twin room was downstairs next to breakfast room ,, and the house phone was infront of the door of room which every time ring we hear it . it's kinda noise ,, the heat wasn't work till we ask for new one

Very clean, very welcoming, good breakfast, good advise of local area for both dining and walks, the booklet they provided on local walks and attractions was very helpful, very central but also quiet, and good parking facilities. If I was to go again the only thing that would put me off is my wife mist a bath especially after a fulll days walking, also I would have liked a power shower, also I would probably choose a Hotel with a spa and gymn, and also some where to sit at night and enjoy a drink

Freindly,clean,quiet,good location and excellent breakfast and good price. We would recommend it to anyone and we would return ourselves. A rating of 9 out of 10. We have no complaints of any kind.

Very hospitable and friendly, we were with children and felt very at ease and nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast was excellent and the room was spotless. Excellent location within walking distance to all local attractions, restaurants and shops

Mark and Jane were very friendly and extremely helpful. The room was nicely decorated and spotlessly clean. The breakfasts were delicious. It was in a great location between Windermere and Bowness. The only small criticism was the shower, which was not very powerful and due to water pressure went cold from time to time.

It was a friendly guesthouse where we would love to stay again!! The bedroom we stayed in was lovely and clean. The hosts were very friendly and we would recommend it to anyone... The breakfast was just fantastic.. They even had a weight watchers breakfast which I thought was fantastic!!

Thornbank Guest house is a lovely place to stay. We had the 'small double' which was a perfectly adequate space, lovely and clean and nicely decorated - it was everything we expected, and more - it smelt lovely and was so comfortable. The hosts, Jane and Mark were charming and friendly, and nothing was too much effort. We had a splendid breakfast, so I was very pleased I chose this house. And NO - I am not a friend or relative, and it was my first visit! Thank you! Jenny and Richard I loved the chocolate drink that I used on the first night - and missed it on the second.... hardly a complaint, and shows the high standard of care.

Our stay at Thornbank guest house was more than we expected. The guest house was very clean and in an ideal location. The people that run the guest house where really friendly and helpful. I would recomend the guest house for value of money, friendly service and it is also in a perfect location between windermere and bowness.

I would just like to say having come back from this lovely guest house,It was really lovely and jane and mark were absoultey fantastic ,Me and my husband are talking about going next year but for longer,They were perfect hosts and the breakfasts were to die for. It was in a great location near to the town and the pubs and the shops and also the lakes. So if anyone has booked to go you will not be disappointed Many thanks jane and mark kind regardes mr and mrs cunningham

Very friendly and helpful owners, and our room was very comfortable as well. The room, restaurant and other areas are clean and tidy. Breakfast was fantastic, a proper "English," with other options if you prefer something different. The Thornbank is in a good location, about half way between Windermere and Bowness, about a 10 minute easy walk either way. Only stayed for one night, but we would happily stay here again.

The owners were very friendly and polite, helpful with advice of places to visit, places to eat . Nothing was too much trouble for them. The place was very clean and the breakfast was excelent. I would not hesitate to use this guest house the next time we are at Widermere. The location was about right located mid way between Windermere and Bowness.

The host are so kind and considerate! We spent two days there and really enjoy the service. It's really clean and warm. I like the breakfast, too:P The location is between windermere and bowness and it is convenient if u enjoy walking and it only takes 15 minutes to get those two towns:)
