Score from 264 reviews Very good
Set in a rural location, just off junction 14 of the M5, the hotel is perfect for visiting Bristol and exploring the Cotswold countryside.

Score from 652 reviews Good
This historic Gothic mansion sits in tranquil parkland on the Cotswold Edge, beside the Severn Valley and close to Bristol. It offers fine dining, a leisure club, and spacious, traditional rooms.

location Cleanliness Size of room
noisy guests late at night and early in the morning!
Loved the location and the old property. Very cosy room, with excellent views.
Restaurant was in the main club house which is a bit of a walk away. However this is reflected in the price.
Room very tidy and clean a nice bathroom good shower
Booked a double superior got single superior no lights outside window broken
Very relaxing an peacefull
Too long walking distances from close amenities
location of restaurant
Staff were friendly and very nice. WIFI in the public area very good.
No wifi in the roomNothing on the walls in the room made it look very lonely
Bedroom was clean and well furnished
As a lone female, the car park was poorly lit. When I arrived I struggled to find a member of staff to check in. On leaving there was an issue with the printer and one of the members of staff was raising his eyes with a colleague. Noisy bedroom Light timer went out when I was in the shower
Pretty location. Evening meal was lovely.
Really should invest in some bug bombs particularly mosquitoes and flies. 1 or 2 is manageable but after the first dozen I was slightly weary. Hairs (not mine, wrong colour) and other assorted dead things in bathroom.
Very quiet setting and useful for if going to a wedding at the castle as much more reasonable price.
Beds were a bit uncomfortable. Old springy mattresses. Seemed to have a bit of a spider infestation- 7 large spiders in one room! You had to keep window blinds closed as golfers walking past, then room is really dark and the lights were pretty useless.
This lodge is housed in a lovely Cotswold stone house on the grounds of a golf club. Beautiful grounds, lots of trees and even a view of the Severn River. Quiet at night. Low key cafe but with good food and a great outside patio to sit and relax on.
The only slight downside was that the wi if was only available in the cafe, not in the lodge.
Location and staff.
Being a golfer and a regular visitor to Filton because of business the location is excellent
On my last visit there wasn't any hot water. Notified staff on checking out. Hopefully next time I stay the problem will be rectified.
quiet excellent if you are a golfer
Set in great grounds, the lodge looks very good and is away from the golf course, but people do need to walk buy. Meal menu is basic but covers most things and is well priced.
I had a ground floor room, I had to drop the blinds mid afternoon so people walking buy could not look in, some nets would be a good idea.
comfortable beds Stylish room Clean
guality of the room
poor booking in and checking out
Very Clean Excellent hot water
No heating in room. Boring décor. No privacy - have to pull curtains as footway outside. Checkin and checkout a mess - not organised. No facilities, juts a golf course.
The Lodge was very quaint and very comfortable. We had no reason to complain about anything. The food was very good value and the Carrot Cake was fantastic!!!
I think the only complaint is the coffee was always served luke warm.
Disappointed with the sitting area of the bar
Lovely location and well appointed bedrooms. Best night's sleep in a hotel in years.
The staff were delightful and helpful; food was excellent; the room and shower-room modern and well-maintained; the bed comfortable and big. If you like golf - and I loathe it - you'll love this place. If you don't, all those ridiculous shoes and Rupert Bear golf trousers will cause amusement.
Distance from the Lodge to the reception desk and bar/restaurant. This was fine in the dry, but in the rain, not so good. A lot of noise from the room above, whose occupants seemed to be playing a game of rugger, at 5am. Not the Lodge's fault, of course. Oh, and the sensor that switches on and keeps on the light in the shower-room can't detect you if you're in the shower, suddenly plunging the room into inky blackness. The cold and supposedly fresh water tap often dispenses only hot water, which is annoying when brushing teeth or filling the kettle. The wifi is only available in the "public areas" and not in the room, which is a nuisance.
The bed was clean and very comfortable, great sized room.
Musty smell in room and no stand up shower in a superior king size!
Friendly staff, good food and reasonable pricing. Peaceful and beautiful surroundings.
You couldn't get room service
The buildings, Restaurant, Staff, and Golf Course.
The bed was too soft and their was no fan in the room which made the overnight stay uncomforatble.
