I was given access to a Steinway grand piano, which the owner let me play during my stay. Very good.

Quirky, comfortable, generous surroundings. Comfortable beds. Fascinating hostess. Great breakfast. Lovely cats. Quiet. Many interesting things to look at, read and enjoy. We will recommend it to our animal loving friends.

There was nothing at all we didn't like but if you are not a cat lover this isn't the place for you.

The cats were a laugh. Got everywhere. Bed was fine, breakfast was great, other guests were fine, hosts were really friendly.

The entrance was not obvious, sign could do with an arrow, plus a name plate at the end of the driveway. It's a 5-way junction, and my Garmin SatNav got the wrong side.

This was a very pleasant stay for us..... clean and comfortable rooms, beautiful gardens and a friendly hostess. Breakfast was great and served in a lovely room.Great location from which to Birdoswald's Hadrian's Wall and the Housesteads Roman Fort. Although touted as a house for cat lovers, they did not bother us at all.

If you love cats, you'll love Thornley House! (If you don't, I'd advise you stay elsewhere). Lovely host, and beautiful feline friends. All very good company. Hearty breakfast made with love- the best that we had in our 2 week holiday, actually. Was a bit of a gloomy day when we were there but the gardens looked beautiful, too.

Couldn't find the code for the wifi so can't comment on that.

The owner is so friendly it is like staying with someone you know. Don't stay if you don't like cats - there are several of them, but this just added to the feeling of being at home. Easy walk to village, lovely countryside, breakfast very nice.

Our room was supposed to be ensuite but was actually a private bathroom next door - not a problem, but perhaps needs to be advertised differently
