Casual efficient staff, helpful without being over the top, understated!
Nothing was too much trouble. We are vegetarians and the restsurant menu is predominantly meaty, however we were given additional options, all of which were excellent. The desserts were 'to die for!' Our afternoon tea on the Sunday was very good. The spa was lovely and the snow cave a real treat!!!
The coffee in the room was poor in comparison to the excellent coffee at the bar .
- bedroom was lovely - staff were pleasant - it was easy to find
- service was slow - rooms were far too hot - price did not reflect product received, small things like no water in our room - breakfast was poor
Extremely helpful and courteous staff, excellent breakfast choice.
Whole place is immaculate, beautiful grounds as well as rooms. Staff are extremely friendly and helpful as my partner left certain items behind after our stay and staff did everything they could to find his lost possessions.
WiFi was Poor at times, but not a huge issue
- very good wifi - nice, soft bed - big HD flatscreen
- 'typical' english style hotel - expensive breakfast
Location and room excellent Chambermaids very good and friendly
Service at breakfast was poor Had to ask for butter and plates. As a party of 4 we ordered 3 teas and received one Baked beans were missed off and cold 3 times waitress walked by table and made no effort to clear plates that had been finished min 10 mins previously
Hotels don't come better than this for quality of the rooms and facilities. The staff are also excellent.
Free upgrade to superior room with a small balcony overlooking gardens. Bed was huge and very comfortable. Great to watch TV whilst soaking in the bath.
The hotel and staff were very good.
Very disappointed with dinner menu. Had invited friends to join us for dinner but we could not find anything we liked on the menu and choice was very limited. In the end we settled for the bar menu which was adequate.
cost. location. bedroom window open on arrival. I have already filled in your form on leaving the hotel I think i may have left my atenolol pills behind Despite the small points (as someone who is involved in the business) we appreciated our stay, thank you
Narrow and difficult stairs to Room 10. The carpet colour made it difficult to see the edges of the stairs especially when dragging a suitcase down from the top. Difficult to find - on leaving we think the road number was hidden by trees. We would like to have known how to empty the basin and where to put make up , shaving soap etc near the basin.
The size of the bed
People shouting and wake me up at midnight!!
The area was nice the staff were willing to help, the resort was spotless,
Due to someone's late checkout I had to change rooms and what around , people smoking pot in there room made me have to change my room again, loud music playing past 3, felt like staying in a dorm than a luxury hotel
Good location and well signed from motorway. Very helpful staff and good sized well equipped rooms. Hotel of good standard. lovely dining room and bar. Excellent breakfast and good to have Bistro by the pool.
Pity we needed to go outside to access pool during bad weather.
I thought the drinks were very expensive
Not a very comfortable mattress
No signal for my phone (EE) puts a big downer on everything else.
Beautiful location. Old part of hotel has lovely character.
Room very far away from reception and was very small. Room was definitely not up to grade 4 standard.
Refreshing to be greeted with smart, helpful and friendly reception staff. Nothing was too much trouble. The Hotel has a lovely atmosphere about it, comfortable and relaxing yet alive at the same time. Plenty of parking available. We are staying again shortly. A venue of choice.
Really friendly, helpful staff. Liked the buildings / hotel and leisure centre.
Spa Smoked haddock at breakfast...very well cooked
I was staying in Thornton hall for a wedding. Lovely hotel and location. Good staff and was happy to be changed from a twin room to a double as requested before my arrival.
Too expensive for what it is. Room quite basic.
Would not stay here again it is not value for money 360 for a two night stay room was a superior double and it was no different then a standard double only balcony was different staff was not very nice made a point of running over to me at breakfast in front of all my family to make the point that breakfast wasn't included with my stay when I only went down for a bottle of water and to say goodbye so rude would not stay here again
The facilities are excellent and the hotel is in very pleasant grounds in a countryside location. The staff were helpful and the service was efficient.
