Very warm welcome by staff at Reception including the manager whose smile must surely light up the whole of Thornton Hough! We were allocated a delightful ground floor room with a magnificent outlook over the grounds. The room had its own little outside seating area with two chairs and small table. On a summer evening this would be even more special. We had dinner in the Lawns restaurant - beautifully lit, quite atmospheric. The food was excellent, served by efficient, friendly staff. We could not fault anything so thank you to all at Thornton Hall.

Stayed overnight after wedding held here. Had beautiful, non smoking, room on ground floor overlooking gardens. Room was very spacious and comfortable, with large screen tv and tea/coffee making facilities. Bathroom was spotlessly clean with full range of toiletries supplied. We cannot comment on the restaurant, but have to say that the wedding breakfast and evening buffet were beautifully presented and delicious. Our special requests were met with efficiency and courtesy and we would recommend the hotel to friends and family.

The staff were excellent, polite and very helpful. Met with family and had meal in evening. First class food with first class service. Room was large, very clean, comfortable and airy. Would fully recommend to anyone wanting to stay on the Wirral.

The location for our stay in the Wirral area. Lovely room atan acceptable price.Thank you These are not complaints, just observations. Room 232 our room needs a bulb in the vanity light above mirror. At breakfast, my wife would have prefered butter instead of Flora. And I realise that the Spa area maybe out side your remit but someone needs to enforce the non sitting in the cafe area by those wearing wet trunks etc. A vast majority of the material seats were wet and when sitting in my clothes ended with wet trousers (not pleasant) All of the above were mentioned at the time but not remedied before my departure. Please, these are not complaints only observations and did not detract from our stay thank you.

I go to Thornton Hall every year, usually for a Spa Break with a friend, but this year with my husband. The Hotel is beautifully situated, the staff are always friendly, but professional and accomodation is excellent, even the standard rooms. You immediately relax in the surroundings. The Spa treatments are the best I have ever had. Strongly recommend, this Hotel & Spa never disappoints. Every visit, I wish I could stay longer.

thornton hall is a lovely location and makes both chester and liverpool easily accessible, by car or by train. it is very peaceful and relaxing and the spa is just lovely!the seven star pub just in the village offers a nice and friendly alternative to dining at the hotel if you want something more casual and the food is superb! we had continental breakfasts each morning and the choice was very sparse! menu needs revamping!certainly not worth the £9.50 charge but eaten in a lovely dining room with friendly staff.

The country location I didn't like having to have my blood pressure taken before using the gymnasium. This should be optional and not a prerequisite to being able to use the gymnasium. I thought this was an unnecessary intrusion.

Very good value for money, the cheapest rooms are all large and spacious, there is free WiFi and the food is very good. It's always a good sign when the breakfast is cooked to order rather than laid out congealing in a help yourself buffet.

I paid for a Superior Room executive package. The room was basic and nothing executive about it. There was no package ie I was told I would have a fruit bowl, upgraded tea/coffee facilities, robe, slippers etc - nothing arrived despite me chasing this. In addition - my phone wasn't working in my room so I couldn't receive calls. All in all I was extremely disappointed with my stay
