Our room was more than big enough for 6 of us , facilities were available so I could heat N clean bottles fr the baby . Staff were lovely. And as well my young children did also enjoy seeing the few animals that were about om the farm
Excellent customer service - Annie was a delight
Staff were ok and friendly enough. The shower was good.
Poorly located up a pot hole farm track, also not where indicated on the map and difficult to find. A bit lackadaisacal no one there on arrival only a letter stuck on the door. Poor layout of room with not much space. Only 1 chair and no table.
Staff was friendly & good views
Farm track due access issues & bed was next to wall adjacent to breakfast room it was quite noisy due to guests talking at their tables
The style and space was superb. The breakfast was very well cooked with a very good choice. Staff were excelent in catering for all your needs. plenty hot water in the shower for 4 adults. Views were very nice.
The approaching road was full of large potholes. Sign at the village entrance would have been helpful as satnav took us to the ajoining farm. Basin in the onsuit was badly broken and should be replaced.
Location is excellent . Second time We have visited . Staff are excellent always happy to help. The Lodge is always clean and warm in winter months . Booking again for next year.
We arrived late evening so did not see anyone, but staff in the morning were very friendly and accommodating. Location was lovely.
Room was very cold and although we could have lit an open fire it was too late in the evening. Dry mud all over rug in living area. Duvets very thin and pillows similar. Would have liked 2 thicker pillows. Bathroom floor looked dirty, no grout between tiles. Shower likewise, lot of mould and mildew. This is all a shame because it could be lovely. If you are thinking of booking, be aware that there is a long farm track to access the B & B and it is full of very large and deep potholes. There are several rooms at the B & B and the when the guest above us got up in the morning we could hear every footstep very loudly and also people having breakfast next to our room.
The first 50 yards of the entrance drive
The potholed drive Rubbish everywhere Bed very uncomfortable Nails protruding in exposed floorboards Dirty shower and broken sink Too many other things to mention
The ambience was good, room size great. Staff very friendly
The driveway up the farm track was horrendous. No one to greet us on arrival. Lights were not working. bathroom tiling was black and badly needed regrouting. Shower was poor.
Breakfast was ok
Beds bad condition No wi fi at all Tv with bad signal Hotel is very hide
Lovely big room. The beds had different mattresses so we could both have what we liked. Availability of an open fire. Lovely open setting. Liked the decor.
Awkward steps although not many and it wasn't avertised as an accessible room.
We have stayed before, great setting and very large rooms. Delicious breakfast too.
Everything was very good quality
Not being able to have an evening meal - but that wouldn't stop me booking here again.
Breakfast was amazing. Cooked to order and very fresh.
Broken bath, cracked wash basin and a shower that hardly gave out any water. But the shower cubicle was amazing.
quiet location, comfortable and all we needed for our stay. Breakfast was good and served by friendly staff.
road to B&B needs a bit of sorting out.
The room was big and comfortable. Staff were friendly and helpful.
The whole place could have done with a good clean. The outside was scruffy and there was rubbish everywhere. Inside was very dusty and the rug needed a good hoover. Bath wasn't working. Its a real shame because the room is really nice but needs some TLC.
there was a good breakfast, but i didn't like having to order it the night before
Very difficult to find, I had to make a call. on arrival, no one was around, and again i had to make another call to locate my room and door code. when i got inside, the room was shabby and dirty. The only staff meber i saw was at breakfast the next day
Friendly, professional staff, large room, nice decor, lovely breakfast, handy location, good prices.
The yard around the entrance was such a mess (old toilet seat, rubbish, dog mess), it wouldn't take much to clean it up, and would really improve the overall impression of the place.
All of it really just wish the check out was later so could enjoy the views longer
Lack of logs for in room fire
Handy for where I was going
No staff found either at 11am or 9pm. Window on ground floor did not close so not suitable for a lone traveller. No drinking water available in room. Poor directions to Lodge. Shower thermostat difficult to operate. Shower cubicle doors not working. TV temperamental
We have stayed at Thorpe Thewles with our Labrador dog several times and the staff are always cheerful, helpful and welcoming
The room we had after this stay was extremely disappointing. Much smaller than we have previously had. The TV did not have reception so not able to watch, not able to connect to wi if, mirror in cupboard so no space to dry hair, sink too small to fill kettle. Really disappointed this time but will request specific room next time because usually so good.
Good sized room. Good wifi internet access. Large comfortable beds. Friendly lady who cleaned rooms.
A bit untidy around the property. 2-3 cig packets and beer cans, presumably left by previous guests, should have been picked up. Lighting around the property wasn't great for night time arrival. Bathroom fittings and shower in our family room were a little jaded and could do with upgrading.
The room was nice and the ladies that sort out the breakfast were very lovely.
There isn't anyone on site throughout the day which didn't make me feel safe or at ease.
Great place to stay had a good time
The friendly staff. We arrived very late and that was no problem. We missed the cutoff for breakfast order but they still managed to cook us a fab breakfast.
Difficult to find in the dark. Signage not well lit and we drove around for quite a while searching. In the morning we saw the signs very clearly.
