The staff were excellent, and they were always willing to discuss things; their attitude was cheerful and I certainly hope to visit again. I was surprised not to find a shaver point in the bathroom of our room (No 21).

The location and the uniqueness of the building. This is not an 'off the shelf' hotel and that is very refreshing. The curtain track in our room (17) needs attention. I found it impossible to avoid getting the bathroom floor getting wet when showering. The screen is totally inadequate.

The food was cooked to a very good standard. The staff could not be more helpful. The room was fabulous and a most wonderful location in such a tranquil part of the country. Only one thing....a choice of pillows, all of the ones available in the room were firm...a small matter but choice would have made it wonderful

The hotel was fine in all respects and we have no issue with it at all. Good value, good staff and a lovely location. This is not a complaint about the hotel. I would like to point out that I booked with you with an American Express card and then when settling my bill was told they do not accept that particular card and I paid with Mastercard. This is confusing for clients as it feels as if you have paid twice. I have contacted the hotel and they assure me that no money was taken from the American Express card with which I booked but neverless it is disconcerting to give details of two credit cards for one transcaction.

The Thorpeness Hotel is in a lovely location for the Aldeburgh vicinity which I was visiting. My room was very spacious and warm which was welcome in November. The basthroom was new. All of the staff I encountered were helpful and friendly. Breakfast was excellent - a perfectly poached egg with my haddock - on a warm plate. Couldn't do better. Would stay there again any time. I like to sleep with an open window but felt too vulnerable on the ground floor. Same would apply on the first floor as there is a balcony linking all the rooms.

Although the weather was a typical East Anglian , breezy affair, the facilites and lounges were exactly what we needed and we enjoyed every minute. Our visit also coincided with a wedding and a golf weekend by keen golfers but both added to the enjoyment of our short break. We are not golfers.

I thought the rooms were extremly homely and the view was lovely and quite, no noise from cars etc. The only down side is that the breakfast didnt start till 7.30 am and for those who work the following day may be dont have chance for breakfast. Other than that it was lovely

The hotel and staff were excellent. We spent two days at the hotel for a family wedding, which was held in the Country Club. The area was beautiful and unspoilt. It is certainly a Hotel my husband and I would recomend and use ourselfs again. The staff at the Hotel and the Country Club were all very helpful and very polite, which made our stay even more enjoyable. Thankyou all so very much.

The breakfast was rather disappointing. We chose the English Breakfast. The bacon and sausage were both fried in loads of oil as it was all very greasy. The sausage was low quality as it lacked taste of meat. I wouldn't eat there again.

“the position of the hotel accommodates a stay at the seaside whatever the weather. When the weather is fine it allows folks to walk straight out onto the front parade to enjoy the resort but if not, the facilities give a perfect place to just sit and relax and take in the view in comfort.” Colleen, Nr.
