We stayed on a bed and breakfast basis, as we were socialising locally, and found it perfect. Our room was very comfortable, and we felt very relaxed during our stay. The gardens were lovely. Staff were very nice. Everything ok.

The hotel setting The dark bedroom we were allocated. Felt that it was pricey for what was on offer. Front house staff polite but not over friendly. Dining room staff both polite & friendly.

Location was good. Room was comfortable and clean. Reception and housekeeping staff were friendly and helpful. Food quality varied. Breakfast cooked meal was good; cold buffet selection was limited and indifferent. We had one evening meal - my choice (roast beef) was awful and my husband's choice was good. Perhaps we caught it on a bad day! We didn't find the dining room staff very friendly.

The room was comfortable and clean. The bar meal we had was good and the staff friendly and attentive. The breakfast and the choices offered was very acceptable. We would stay again. My wife had great difficulty in trying to adjust the tap in the bath to get a bath at the right temperature. The button arrangement needed "tarzan" to adjust it!! The mattress had in my humble opinion passed its sell by date though my wife had no compliant about hers?

Everything I approved of last time I stayed (via booking.com £90.00 offer) in 2012. Surprisingly although this time I paid the full price of £130.00 for the night, there were no bathrobes supplied! Otherwise it was very good.

The room was clean We were in Room 3. On the ground floor. These rooms are in a block outside the main building - you have to brave the weather returning to your room. The rooms back onto a gravelled car park - cars park and start-up outside the rooms at all hours. The car park surface is in need of repair. The beds were very soft, comically soft. Although wifi was advertised as available in all areas this didn't extend to the rooms. Shower taps were broken. We booked dinner which was over-priced, most guests preferring to eat at the nearby Dolphin Inn. The staff seemed untrained - opening the wine away from the table, not knowing the menu. Portions were mean - a slice of bread each? We had a pie that was described as a tart... The food was ordinary. Breakfast took forever - we didn't order anything exotic. We stayed one night and paid £200. We have stayed in better $80 motels. It is not clear from the description on Booking.com that this is a golf club first with basic rooms added. The focus of the hotels' attention seem to be on golfing and the needs of golfers and we're sure if you're a golfer that this is a great venue. We informed the staff on leaving of our disappointment after filling in the questionnaire.

We like the large bed/sitting rooms, the new well-maintained bathrooms, the second door into bedroom, which ensures peace and quiet, the great breakfasts and the lovely lounge and nice bar. The location is perfect for walking straight from the hotel without having to drive. We thought the choice on the evening menu in the restaurant very disappointing. The first night we had a bar meal, but the second night we decided to go out. Also, the restaurant is expensive for quite ordinary fare.

Just what I expected, following a visit 12 years ago! Restaurant was closed - it would have good to be informed of this on booking and check-in. Mobile network is very poor, but the hotel wifi is perfectly adequate.

Everything about the hotel is wonderful, very relaxing and the staff are ultra friendly. The room was very clean, modern and comfortable. We will definitely be returning. The only niggle we had, was that there was very limited hot water, especially in the evening. Once we mentioned it to the receptionist though, they were very apologetic and said it would be looked at by maintenance.

Nice big rooms and good shower/bathrooms. Good food. The Breakfast was only available from 7:30am which meant that I could not have any as I had to leave at 7:15am to reach my Buisness event. The staff did offer to put on coffee and an uncooked breakfast early if there was enough of us but some people had to leave even earlier than me and so this could not be organised. I think 7:30am is too late for breakfast on a weekday 6:30 of 7:00 would be more reasonable.

Good room size - attractive dining room - friendly staff Although the room prices were high the rooms were a good size. We had "balcony" rooms, but the so called balcony was a four foot walkway with a railing at the back of the rooms. The the dining room was light and airy, but the menu was limited and the prices were very high - almost Central London prices. We would not stay again unless the cost of the rooms and the menu were reduced by at least 20%.

Very friendly staff. It's a lovely setting and a very nice atmosphere. Was not too keen on our room, which was a twin with quite uncomfortable single beds. Not even a duvet, horrible blankets.

It is in a nature reserve area and is peacefull with only natural noises to wake you providing there are no early risers in the car park. The Hotel staff were welcoming and there was a good choice of food for Breakfast. It also is the clubhouse for Golf so if you are a golf person it is really good. It was somewhat on the pricey side particularly when the room we stayed in was not double glazed.
