With a large choice of traditional English food, our philosophy is straight forward: simple, fresh, home-made food presented in a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere and offered at affordable prices.

Our chef and landlord, Garth Pearse, has more than 12 year's experience in the trade. He insists on only the best ingredients and ensures that all our meat and vegetables are sourced locally.

Area information

Thorverton village is very picturesque with thatched cottages, a ford and a number of walks and cycle tracks in the surrounding countryside.

The area is popular with tourists due to its easy access to the M5 motorway and the A30, making it a popular destination for short breaks.

Things to do and see in Exeter:

Exeter Cathedral, Roman and Medieval walls, Royal Albert Memorial Museum, underground passages, historic quayside, Northernhaye Gardens and many free guided walks, including the City Wall Trail.

The hotel is 7 miles north of Exeter, 12 miles from junction 27 of the M5 and 8 miles from Exeter Airport.
