The Anchor was clean and welcoming. the staff were lovely and nothing was too much trouble. Food was tasty and freshly cooked. We did not bother to go anywhere else to eat.
It is a good location for exploring the area around Loch Lomond.

I enjoyed the road from Tarbet to Garelochhead and our stay at the Anchor Inn. The spot may not be the nicest but our evening/night was really nice staying at the Anchor Inn after a good walk in the Highlands.

Garelochhead is not a place you would think of as being suitable for tourism, but it is nice and quiet despite there being a naval base close by. It is ideally located for exploring the wonderful Scottish countryside.

A group of us met up in Garelochhead for an overnight stop, having travelled from different parts of the country, before continuing on to our destination near Fort William
We ate together at the Anchor Inn on the evening of our stay.
The location gave easy access to various options for our onward journey to take in stunning scenery and nice roads - Rest and be Thankful and on to Inveraray and up the west coast or, in the opposite direction, through the Trossachs and on through Glen Coe
First time at this hotel. What a hidde gem. Staff lovely. Special mention to Chris the bartender who made us feel so special on our 25th wedding Anniversary by suprising us with prosecco with our breakfast. He is a credit to your hotel, not because of the gift but the night before he made us and other guests so welcome. Our room was lovely, great comfy bed. Food very good, breakfast options good and with perfect poached eggs. We will be back!
Solid little hotel with clean comfortable room and good facilities. Food in the bar/restaurant is very good, plentiful and good value. What elevated this good stay for us was the staff and the service. Chris and his team were outstandingly helpful, cheerful, attentive and charming. People like that make such a difference.
We chose this place because of the location. Garelochhead is situated near Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park, and also ideal to make walks arround Loch Long and Loch Goil.
The room was quite small, but quiet. We had breakfast and dinner in the Inn and it was ok.
The staff was very friendly and helpfull
We arrived early and the hotel was closed but someone from the lost office next door let us in to wait! Chris was incredibly kind and upgraded us to a large room with a gorgeous view. Everything was comfortable and clean.
Brilliant in every way. Was lovely to be out the way for a while to relax in peace and comfort. Very close to the water, a few takeaways in the area and ashtrays provided in the grounds for smokers. Very thoughtful hotel.
spacious, modern, warm, cosy, very peaceful, great staff! hotel bar has an open fire, over looking the Loch. food is fantastic and fairly priced. Helensburgh & Loch Lomond are 20 minute drive. I will be returning!
Great host!!!! He was very helpful and the view is very beautiful and I would highly recommend this hotel.
P s:- Don't forget to checkout the bar and the drinks are very reasonable, 😀
Beautiful location & great hotel. Food in pub was very nice and well priced. Landlady even took us to walking route start point.
We will definitely be back, couldn’t recommend enough!
The location was fantastic.
The hotel cleanliness, cannot pick any faults at all.
The staff were so lovely and friendly.
100% worth the money paid, and would highly recommend.
