Very friendly, helpful staff
In need of some TLC
the staff where extremely helpful and very friendly we had a pleasant night stay
We was kept awake most of the 1st night with people shouting and being noisy, my son was really poorly in the night, I told lady on reception and she said it wouldn't happen the night, but sure enough it happened again the next night. So I had to leave that day as it kept my poorly son awake.
very convenient location to the university with excellent value for the good variety of food, with very generous portions. The manager could not do more to help and the rest of the staff were genuinely friendly. excellent value for money. Plenty of tea and coffee facilities in the room as well.
The fried eggs for breakfast could have been a bit fresher but this is only a minor niggle, as the rest was plentiful and hot
It was cheap, the location was good, the staff were very good and the breakfast was good.
It was pretty run down generally but for the money it was ok.
Breakfast was very good
Place and rooms were very tried, needs doing up
the room was ok, basic but clean. staff very polite
cooked breakfast was cold
The Carvery ,and the Breakfast
The accommodation standard was poor ie no plugs in basin or bath The unit that the tv was placed on was in a very bad condition with rough edges . Electric plugs had extention leads with to many plugs possible fire hazard . Mattress was the cheapest that could possibly be purchased If the standard of the room was the same as the meals it would a be a massive improvement .Will not be staying at this hotel again
Evening meal and breakfast good Thanks to one girl behind bar did looked to be the only one there.
To untidy and the room was very basic.
Was okay, all I needed for a business trip to get my head down, no major issues, thanks you.
Anything horrible place never to be repeated
This hotel was good value as it included english breakfast. It was easy to find and in a good location, and ideal for The Royal Mint. The room was a good size and comfortable.
The car park was quite full at 5pm due to an outside function being held at hotel on same evening, but not too noisy.
Furniture in room broken, no drawers in drawer unit. Booked twin room, allocated a double room (changed room when complained). Bedside light didn't work. Poor shower.
Nice location and found the staff very helpful and friendly
Not too keen on the colour scheme.Hotel could do with a bit of an update.
The food and service in the bar were good.
Booked and paid for 4 nights. Checked out after first night - disgusted with condition of room - filthy! Only thin sheet on top of mattress - no mattress protector. Springs could be felt - too uncomfortable to sleep. It was significant that staff didn't ask WHY we were leaving early..
Very small pleasant and clean hotel , friendly helpful staff and excellent location only 15 minutes from Cardiff Centre.
Some of the hotel decor is in need of updating.
Simply it was convenient for our purpose
The whole place is somewhat dated and is run on an economic basis. The Restaurant is too predictable with a narrow range of choice.
Food has taken a down turn.
Very comfortable and convenient, good value for money
The staff were so welcoming and friendly. Location was beautiful. The hotel itself was old and had lots of character nice bar and restaurant. Good selection of breakfast and staff so eager to please. Would definately stay again.
Room was a bit dated could do with a lick of pain and bed a bit lumpy
WiFi was weak in the room
Needs upgrade of plumbing and Wi fi.
Positionednear my customer (900yds). Value for money.
Breakfast ........... the worst I have experienced in 54 years on the road! i) The mushrooms were shiveled it a cinder ii) The bacon looked as though it was unfit to eat (So I did not). iii) The fried eggs were cold and hard as rubber inner tubes. iv) The tea was stewed and black as coffee and tasted like some sort of medication.
Staff are really mannerly at all times, and more often than not extra friendly too.
Decor and fixtures are quite tired. Management to be fair to them are very approachable guys, and have been holding off on investment until new Royal Mint museum is built (which has been in the works for years but is due to be started soon and opening next year).
A dingy dump. Sorry but even for £50 I thought it was lousy
The bed. The carpet. The tattiness. The feeling I was one of only 5 people staying there. A sign in the bar said 'book now to avoid Father's Day disappointment'. It was totally deserted.
