Staff welcome and efficiency. Outstanding service. Dinner, breakfast and lunch all great. Location beautiful. Busy bar and restaurant - clearly a popular place, and deservedly so.
Quite a small room, decor a bit old fashioned, but warm, clean and comfortable.
Great location, although didn't quite know where we were going to end up!! Lovely breakfast & evening meals.
Cosy, friendly and relaxed. It was nice to see an open fire burning on our arrival.
A squeaky bed, but I mentioned this to the staff who took it seriously.
Staff, flower boxes, peaceful, views, walks, meals, helpful delightful staff, especially Charlotte!
Attention to detail and no expense was spared on the fixtures and fittings. Tranquil setting. Excellent cooked breakfasts.
Beautiful dramatic scenery Good ambiance Delicious food
Difficult to get to.
Excellent location, clean tidy rooms, friendly staff.
Very High bar prices, restaurant prices also a tad high although well prepared.
Beautiful location. Fantastic food. Couldn't wish for better. Perfect for our nights stay. Thankyou
Staff very welcoming, friendly and attentive. Well presented premises and superb location for views.
Good walks nearby Good bar and restaurant Helpful friendly staff
Excellent facilities - hotel, pub and restaurant in the same building. Good starting point for hikes. Very good dinner quality Friendly and very international staff Good parking facilities
Rooms are a bit outdated and small No lift
strong sense that this is a BUSINESS first and SERVICE is second, so competent but really unfriendly and impersonal. so what's the point?
The Inn is run by a delightful English family! Located on the old Roman road to Wrynose Pass on the way to the west coast. You can begin hiking right outside the door. The menu was interesting and the food was delicious. The outside terrace was very inviting to bask in the sun while sipping a beer after a good walk in the hills. Location is fabulous looking out over the meadows to the far mountains.
A lovely place, everything you need in the room, and a fab breakfast.
Friendly staff, great food and service.
unique and beautiful location close to wild swimming pool and walks in all directions friendly welcoming staff, great food and drinks plus excellent breakfast in delightful dining room with lovely views
Wonderful view of the hay meadow from the bedroom window at the front of the Inn and being right in the centre of Little Langdale with wonderful walks from the door but having Ambleside and Grasmere nearby.
The rooms are small so well worth booking a larger room at the front rather than a smaller one at the side overlooking the car park .
We loved the isolated location and the walks from the site. The breakfast was excellent and staff friendly and helpful. The lounge looked inviting in cold weather with its open fire, books and games but in fact we were outdoors non stop because of the gorgeous weather.
We think it is a bit pricey but were willing to pay to get a one night stay for 4 people and are glad we found it. The rooms were comfortable, clean and had lovely views but they were not exceptional and for the price we might have expected larger rooms with seating space which we've had in the Lakes at similar cost.
Excellent food, much better than your average Inn.Service was also great.
The last 1.5 miles to get there through very narrow lanes.
Blissful quiet location. 'Real people' work there rather than the usual leisure industry clones.
Our shower did not work well, but to be honest after walking too far we needed a hot bath (which worked perfectly).
Room was really cosy and clean. Great location - perfect for what I needed. Breakfast was suberb!
Walls between rooms a bit thin, so when your neighbour was awake, do were you...
A nicely decorated room with a lovely view and a nice hot bath to enjoy after a long day walking on the hills. Perfect location for walks to various places - Easedale Tarn near Grasmere was my favourite this time. Excellent breakfasts and suppers and welcoming hosts.
Location, location, location!
Location and the food

Restaurant decor nice and cosy.
Bad language in the bar area obviously from non residents.
