Acorn Lodge Gatwick  

The meal we had in the evening of our stay at your restaurant was excellent. We would definitely stay there again when travelling from Gatwick Airport. Bus service to and from the airport was also excellent.

Our booking confirmation stated that travel to the airport was included. Your staff maintained that this was not the case and we had to pay £2 each to travel. Not the end of the world but not what we were expecting. You need to change your weebsite accordingly.

We have stayed at the hotel on 2 previous occasions and found the staff friendly and helpful and they provide a shuttle bus service to Gatwick airport.

The room seemed rather small for a double as the bed was against a wall to accommodate it. The next morning when leaving noticed that the other rooms were considerably larger and were informed that we had only paid for a cheap room!!! Also which was far worse was that the radiator in the bathroom was leaking (which we did not notice until I needed to use it in the early hours of the morning). Someone had put a plastic cup under the leak which obviously overfilled and flooded the bather!! As there was no telephone in the room we could not inform anybody. No one at the desk either. Our towels were used to soak up the water. We reported it but as far as we know the plumber still had not fixed it when we left for the airport

Hotel was a convenient place to layover waiting for flight. Good quality small rooms with comfortable beds. Clean and quiet, good breaffast.

We have stayed at Acorn Lodge 6 times now .Our family live in the south of France and it is ideal for getting to Gatwick airport. It is good value for money, everybody is very friendly and efficient and we hope to stay there about 3 times a year for the next few years.

We have stayed at this hotel on a number of occasions and have to say this year was better than before as they had extended the hotel to include a restaurant and bar area. The rooms were always kept well and very clean and this year was no different and as we have come to expect from the Acorn Lodge. The restaurant is a real plus and the food was absolutely lovely and not overpriced and covered all ages including a kids menu. It seems that nothing is to much trouble for the owners and the guy who runs guests to the airport has a wicked sense of humour. All in all I would have no hesitation in recomending this hotel to anyone in fact I will be staying there again later this year and looking forward to it.

The only very small problem we had was the TV changeover was on the day we stayed there and the TV in the room had not been re-tuned which my husband did with no probem. This did cause some other guests to moan but there was a large TV in the bar area with sky that they could watch. Could probably benefit with sky service in the rooms which my husband suggested to the manager who said that he would look into that.

We stayed at the Acorn the night before a very early flight from Gatwick,which entitled us to leave our car for 2 weeks. We found the Hotel very convenient and the staff were very helpful. The airport shuttle service was quick and easy,and even with a change of Terminal on the return journey they collected us within 10 minutes of us coming out of the airport. Overall very happy and will use again in the future.

Upon booking a room over the internet. A better solution needs to be addressed as to availability of room or not. Did not like having to pay for the accomodation & reserving the room, but not having a Room available when arriving at the Hotel.

We used this hotel because of its price to include parking for 15 days whilst overseas.

Our room was adequate but a bit small. A comfy lounge area would be good

The price was good and prompt collection from airport. However, asked for close rooms and got ones either side of bar area.When it came to leaving could not access our other family members and actually they would not have been able to get out if there was a fire as all doors out were locked!!!! We managed to contact them by phone and they were going to have to climb out of the window to exit the building but fortunately the taxi driver came and unlocked the door. Terrible and I will be complaining.

Cheapness but would not stay again or recommend it as it is not safe.

Staff very friendly and helpful. Shuttle service to and from airport excellent. We didnt have to wait long for return shuttle. 1 night and car parking excellent value. We are booking again for Sept.

We were very pleased with all aspects.

If I had to find one small fault, there was no hairdryer in the room.
