The food in the restaurant was quite good considering the size of the hotel We stayed at the hotel for two nights the room was very small and not much furniture and the room was not cleaned the whole time we were th ere.We had to ask for more milk and coffee to have a hot drink. The driver who took us to the airport and picked us up on the return journey was totally miserable .When we picked our car up it had been moved to the sister hotel which we knew would happen but the car had been left in first gear and the lights left on the whole two weeks so we were so lucky after a ten hour flight and tierd the car started. We think that when you collect your car it would be fanatastic to be offered a complimentary tea or coffe and somewhere to freshen up as alot of people have a long jouney ahead.

Excellent location for overnightstop before getting morning flight from Gatwick.Friendly staff and good menu for evening meal and full English breakfast an added bonus. Website stated free airport shuttle bus but we had to pay £2 each to return to airport in the morning. Perhaps this should be made more clear.

None of the above describes Acorn Lodge, Gatwick Acorn Lodge is ideally placed for flights from Gatwick which is why nwe chose to stay there.. It is a clean respectable hotel. The rooms are comfortable and functional i.e. they have a comfortable bed an en suite and wardrobe/chest of drawers should you wish to use these. There is also a respectable restaurant offering a wide choice of meals. recommended as ideal for the purpose I have described.. Michael West Midlands

The meal we had in the evening of our stay at your restaurant was excellent. We would definitely stay there again when travelling from Gatwick Airport. Bus service to and from the airport was also excellent. Our booking confirmation stated that travel to the airport was included. Your staff maintained that this was not the case and we had to pay £2 each to travel. Not the end of the world but not what we were expecting. You need to change your weebsite accordingly.

Proximity to gatwick airport good - not walking distance, but short cab ride. Had shuttle available for use. Had adjoining restaurant which was very convenient - not the cheapest, but food very tasteful and service good. Had a small outdoor patio that was was quaint. Premises being worked on (more landscaping?) which will be good for hotel in the future. There seemed to have been a policy change effective April 15th, 2011 regarding the shuttle service. Only the shuttle from the airport to the hotel is included in the price; the shuttle service from the hotel to the airport costs 2 pounds each. We found that this was not clear on the booking confirmation.

The bedroom was clean and comfortable Most of the staff could not speak decent English. When we arrived a new receptionist was being taught how to use the computer, and in the morning when I wanted to ask her questions about our transfer to the airport, she could not understand what I was talking about.I Had already spoken to some gentleman who came to the reception desk earlier, and he could not understand me either. When the transfer to the airport did come to pick us up it was 30 minutes late, because they had not got a driver, The room was clean and comfortable, but the bathroom I considered dangerous. It had been converted into a wet room but the tiles on the floor were not anti-slip or mosaic and were very slippery. If you used the toilet, after you had used the shower the floor was soaking wet, and so you had a problem keeping your clothes off of the wet floor. The prices in the restaurant were dear.We went to a pub, 400yds along the road and got an excellent meal at half the price.

It was a very clean and comfortable hotel and the staff were very helpful. We had a very good meal in the restaurant on our overnight stay and made use of the shuttle service to Gatwick Airport the next morning. We chose the hotel because of its proximity to the airport and we had an early morning flight. It was also very reasonably priced and proved to be good value for money.

The hotel was very clean and modern. The closeness to Gatwick Airport was just what we were looking for . The transfers from hotel to airport were very good and on return from our holiday at 10.30 pm we phoned for pick up and were only waiting 10 mins for our transport to arrive . An excellent service . Breakfast was nice with a good choice . a friend has already booked a room through my recomendation !

Our flight was delayed by one hour but when we arrived at the airport we just collected our luggage then telephoned the hotel who confirmed that the taxi was on its way now to pick us up. By the time we got out of the airport and to the bus stop our taxi arrived and took us the few minutes drive to the hotel. We were booked in and shown to our room. The room was spacious, very clean and very very comfortable. In the morning we had a wonderful breakfast, very nice, and waited in our room until it was time to depart back to the airport to catch our bus back to our home. Everything ran smoothly and we would definitely stay there again or recommend this hotel very highly.

Acorn Lodge Gatwick was an exceptionally well run family business with everthing a guest could wish for, comfortable rooms well decorated and very clean. The Lodge had a bar and dining room. The food was excellent both for dinner and breakfast. The staff were very helpful, friendly and welcoming. Would highly recommend Acorn Lodge Gatwick to others travelling to and from Gatwick Airport. Acorn Lodge also ran a pick up and drop off service to Gatwick Airport which was extremely useful.

Friendly staff, good food, lovely rooms and perfect location. Parked car here for a lgw trip abroad, and including the accomodation for two adults b&b, it still worked out cheaper than parking the car at an airport skypark. Superb value. Will use again without any hesitation.

It is so near to the airport and 24 hr transfer the only drawback is when you get back to the hotel in the early hours, you are sent looking for your own car in the pitch black, they could not find my keys & then had to go looking for my car with a torch You are left to find your own car in the early hours in the pitchblack with no lighting, which would be ok if it is in the main carpark not out the back.

The Lodge has a very good restaurant with extensive menu. The courtyard was an enjoyable place to relax with a drink during the warm afternoon. Located on a busy street. Nowhere to hang coats/clothes in the room.

Transport to and from the airport, car parking option and very clean rooms. I had booked 2 rooms, both couples were give the worse rooms in the hotel, when we complained, they would not change them as they said they were full even though they still had the 'Vacancies' sign up. The 2 rooms we had were in the Attic, you could not stand in the Bath/Shower or at the Toilet, in the bedroom you could only stand in the middle of the room, cannot remember how many time I banged my head. We have stayed there for one night over the last 7 years; I believe they gave us the worst rooms because I booked it through Bookings.com 8 months in advance because it was cheaper than booking it direct with them. We won't be staying there again.

Close to Gatwick with a great deal on leaving your car. Very comfortable and clean and totally convenient. Although the staff were very friendly and efficient their strong accents made them slightly difficult to understand otherwise excellent.

Close to Gatwick airport and shuttle service provided at a cost of £2 to airport and free to return. Staff Reception tried to help but the taxi firm they called to take us to the airport let them down and kept saying they would be there in 2 minutes in the end one of the hotel staff took us to the airport. On return the minibus driver was very helpful and efficient and even organised some fresh milk for us as I don't like the uht milk pots supplied in my tea. Didn't get up in time for breakfast which ended at 8.45 Bed small double but comfotable, but room to small for the 2 of us and 2 suitcases. The hotel knew the time of our return but did not have our car there in the car park ready we had to wait for it to be brought from there sister hotel. It wasn't clear at the time of booking that they moved the car. I wasn't happy about this but had to hand the car keys over on arrival as we needed to get to the airport for our flight. The bedroom curtains were unlined which is not ideal in the summer when dawn is so early

It was my second stay at your hotel. I was impressed with your renovations and your restaurant. The vegetarian meal was fantastic. The bathroom, though very well done, is a little inconvenient for short people. Your hotel is convenient for getting to Gatwick hassle free. A pleasant experience.

We were travelling from Gatwick and the hotel was a good place to stay overnight. Car parking and drop off and collection from Gatwick was good. Hotel was clean and restaurant food good on the night we stayed. We had travelled from Hertfordshire/London and didn't want to look for a restaurant to eat that evening, so Acorn Lodge was a good choice. We had requested a room for 3 adults. The room was far too small. There was no space and the 3rd bed had not been made up correctly. After complaning the bedding was changed.
