Great staff and owners. Super breakfast and evening meals.
Close to a main road which made it noisy through night.
Our arrival was greeted with warm welcomes, smiles and a wonderful log fire burning away!!.Everyone was so helpful and we felt much relaxed after quite a long journey. The building is full of character and has a great mix of traditional and modern. The room was large and bright with a very comfy bed.We slept so well and then had a fabulous breakfast....what a menu!! We stayed for 3 nights and ate in the bar/restaurant on all nights. The food is cooked to a very good standard and each dish was delicious. The chef is a gem!!Reasonably priced food for the variation and quality offered.Great selection of wines/beers etc.We were delighted with our stay and look forward to our next visit. Hope it's not too long. Many thanks to everyone again!!
The fact that we had to leave!!
Food excellent Condition of room Friendly staff
The foam mattress found it uncomfortable
Location Friendly and helpful staff Food
The proprietors were very eager to help and be friendly, and the breakfasts were great. The inn is just a few miles from Durham and is very good value for money compared with hotels in the city.
The inn is quite close to a fairly busy road so at times the sound of traffic was a bit intrusive in our bedroom at the front of the building. However, it was not a major issue especially when we closed the double glazed windows.
Breakfast, wifi, parking, bright room, comfy bed
The food ,rural quiet location yet near road connections , reasonable prices ,friendly staff
hosts , huge menu choice for supper, excellent breakfast, welcome, room, bed, service, free parking, shower v good, location easy to find.
wifi not working but its not a big issue. door needed slamming to close it, which is fine but we didn't like disturbing anyone!
Excellent accommodation, lovely food and welcoming hosts, would recommend to all
Warm welcome, very knowledgeable of area with good tips, very generous portion size for meals especially breakfast which was so filling I didn't need lunch!
Traffic noise from the road late at night and early in the morning which was a shame because both the bed and room were very comfy.
Easy access to Durham Excellent value Good food - evening meal and full cooked breakfast Friendly welcome Separate front door for access to room (not through pub)
All of it
None of it
The genuine welcome we received when we arrived with our 2 King Charles spaniels.Nothing was to much trouble for the delightful landlord and landlady. The staff were also extremely kind and helpful. The Full English Breakfast was the biggest and best we have ever had! A really good selection of wines and beers and many choices on the menu for lunch and dinner.A choice of a really comfortable lounge or bar with log fire and dart board to sit and read in during the daytime or evening.
Very friendly staff good food A very well run pub come hotel accommodation Would certainly return
Most comfortable bed ever. Great breakfast and very helpful staff.
The staff and owners were very friendly and helpful. We had an evening meal which was excellent, and the breakfast was out of this world.Great value for money. When we are up this way again we will stay here again. Thank you for a lovely stay. Bill&Pat Kelly from Bradford.
To near the road lots of traffic. I wear earplugs in bed so it didnt affect me.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was very clean. I would stay there again. Good value for money.
I love this place. We used to stay here a lot when our Daughter was at uni, that was 8 years ago. We decided to to go back and see Durham, which has changed... but luckily this pub hasn't !!! still as friendly, and the good still as good !!! Thank you got making us welcome !!!!
Staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good.
Mentioned our bathroom light did not work. Was not fixed but we only stayed one night. Facilities could do with a little updating.
The Three Horseshoes was a real "home from home".The pub is handily located, less than ten minutes drive from Durham with ample free parking and splendid countryside views. Our room was beautifully clean and comfortable with all the facilities you would expect. The hosts were extremely friendly and couldn't do enough for us, whilst the cooked breakfast was absolutely magnificent. If you fancy a pint, you only have to walk downstairs to the spacious pub/restaurant! I would have no problem recommending The Three Horseshoes to any weary traveller.
Excellent menu a very wide choice
Superb breakfast and the warmest of welcomes.
Enjoyed our stay. Ideal location for Durham without being in the city itself. Staff friendly and helpful. Excellent breakfast with good choice. Would stay again and recommend to family and friends.
Efficient friendly staff Restaurant - good food, large menu Great breakfast Location - excellent for A1 and Durham Plenty of hot water Plenty of parking
The bed - hard and lumpy Bathroom needs modernising
