Traffic noise (appreciate nothing can be done about this). Shower room tired and could have been cleaner.
Breakfast good, evening meals available very good and nice atmosphere in Pub
The bathroom! It was clean but old and not a very nice aroma coming from the sink
The food was delicious with a varied menu, very tasty and more than enough to eat it was not over priced either. Staff and proprietors very friendly
The residents lounge would be better cordoned off from the corridor running from kitchen to dining area. I was draughty and not very private
location. value for money breakfast selection, portion size evening meals- fantastic menu, reasonably priced. Excellent staff
traffic noise at front of inn could be a problem for light-sleepers.
Good overnighter, excellent food and very convenient for motorist's. It's also very dog friendly.
dinner breakfast staff location wi fi choice of dinner and breakfast would put many large hotels to shame
Great menu, great food. Excellent breakfast.
Friendliness, Food, Made you feel very much at home and could not do enough for you.
There was nothing not to like
Food was gorgeous, staff were amazingly friendly and helpful. Great value for money.
Rooms need overhauling; very outdated and plain.
It was a fantastic place to stay. Staff very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Our children were made to feel very welcome. The breakfast was incredibly good value. A real gem of the North. We will definitely be going back!
The people were friendly and helpful and lovely peace and quite after a days work. In general felt well at ease and comfortable.
Staff were very friendly and very obliging.wifi was the best we have ever had in a b and b.it was available everywhere we went.Food-nicest tastiest steak I have ever had and there was a large choice.Dog was made very welcome and there was no charge.
Road outside was very fast with no pavement,so it was not easy to find a place to walk a large dog. The owner told me I could use the field next door to walk my dog. A sign indicating this is my only issue with this b and b.
everything about the place
From the minute I arrived the welcoming friendliness of the staff coupled with the excellent food I knew this was a special place. Close to the A1 on the outskirts of Durham this hotel was ideal placed not just for my business needs but also for leisure in the area.
Lovely staff and wonderful food
A lovely place I would highly recommend.
I've given the location only a "fair" score but it suited us as stop off along the way - it was easy to find. Breakfast was very good. Ale was good. Price was reasonable. Staff very amenable.
On a busy fast road so, very noisy. Decor a little tired but clean and adequate.
Friendly atmosphere and comfort
Nothing to dislike
Owners rectified bed situation when informed of the issue, and gave a bottle of wine to compensate. Breakfast was plentiful.
Beds were uncomfortable- our friends had to move rooms as the beds were so bad. Shower had very little pressure and the plumbing was very noisy, so you could hear others showering or flushing the toilet. Passing traffic noise was loud if the window was open at night.
Nice people, good food.
Try the Steak & Ale Pie it was delicious!
lovely friendly people was our second stay wished we could have stayed longer
The owners made us feel very welcome and were most helpful and flexible to enable us to get the best out of our stay.
We liked everything. Couldn't have picked a better place to stay. The staff are just great. Owners - excellent. we will love to stay here again anytime. The food is over the top brilliant.
Beautiful location, although a little far from town- loved the cows in the ajoining paddock. Sara and Martin were helpful, great hosts, Food fabulous. Bathroom had some difficulties. Wonderful ambience.
