Sarah and mick provided a warm welcome with a friendly atmosphere.nothing was to much bother, the breakfast was plentyful and evening meal was splended,the rooms where clean and comfy, and the staff where excellent. Overall would highly recommend so much so booked again for next year.

Excellent food and menu. Excellent staff, very helpful and down to Earth. Good location in countryside near Durham city. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Relaxing feel to pub/hotel

The hosts were fantastic and very friendly, had a good chat and they made us feel at home. The hotel was in an ideal location for our business trip and located just off the A1 a couple of miles from Durham. All the staff were friendly and pleasant and we would stay again. There was a bit of a draught coming through the window which meant the room was a bit chilly!

The family room was an excellent size, lovely bathroom with a proper bath not just a shower squeezed into a corner. Lovely food both evening meal and breakfast. Would like to have stayed longer.

Traffic noise interrupted sleep, despite being assured that the double glazing kept out the noise. We had dinner, as the guest book entries were full of praise. I am sorry to say that dinner was the worst I have ever eaten. Poor quality food and badly cooked. This unfortunately was repeated, as breakfast bordered on inedible. Bedroom was basic but clean. The windowless bathroom had 2 of 3 bulbs blown. The public areas were shabby and grubby. An experience we never want to repeat

The staff were very friendly and welcoming and also helpful when asked anything. The food was excellent. It was not too far out for access to Durham and other places. The only negative thing I would say is that the Inn could do with some tlc. The stair carpet and decor need freshening up.

The staff are amazing they cant do enough for you! The accommodation is just so comfortable - home from home! The food is one of the best we have ever had and after eating the superb breakfast you dont need to eat till tea! All in all we would highly recommend this little country pub to everyone either couples or family The only thing we didnt like was leaving :(

Even though the room was basic, it was clean and bright with a fantastic view of the countryside. Very comfortable bed and the room also had water, and coffee/tea making facilities. The breakfast was a bit limited for selection, but if you like cereal and full cooked english then you would be very happy. The landlord and landlady, Martyn and Sara were lovely, friendly and couldn't do enough for us. The evening meal in the pub was excellent, We are planning another trip soon, and we will definitely be staying at the 3 Horseshoes again.

Very friendly welcome for us and our dog. Excellent food with a wide choice and a very filling breakfast. Good location and pleasant room. Superb service at a reasonable cost. Slightly noisy in the rooms on the front of hotel at night.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The food was good,the evening meals being very good value for money and the service excellent. The staff were excellent and really really helpful. On the morning we were leaving our vehicle had a flat battery. The owner, Martyn, supplied jump leads but unfortunately this was not enough, so he took my husband to a local dealer, not once but twice, to get a new battery. All with a smile :) Excellent!! Will definitely stay again. The stairs to the first floor where the rooms are could do with a lick of paint, but I am sure this is already on the agenda :)

we loved the breakfast. everything is freshly prepared and good quality ingredients specially the eggs & bacon they served. the heating system is not very good & there's no enough socket to plug in your stuff so we still can't use the portable heater provided
