All the staff at the three horseshoes inn were fantastic nothing was too much even down to helping me do my hair for a wedding we were going to. The food was so delicious and very plentiful. The accommodation was clean and tidy in all we had the most perfect stay anywhere and would highly recommend. We will be going back if only for a break away from it all.

The welcome upon arrival at this pub with accommodations was most welcoming and typically North Eastern. Room was neat, clean and tidy with a friendly feel. En suite facilities were also good. A welcoming bar/restaurant with a good selection of local beers and an extraordinaraly broad menu. Food was very good. Overall not a bad place to stay. There's a good deal of noise from the road that could prove a nuisence if a light sleeper and using a room at the front of the hotel.

It is very important for us to be able to take our evening meal in the building where we are going to sleep. This, and the availability of real ale, suited us well. We also appreciated the spacious car park and the fact that we were in the country. Getting into the city was, however, very easy – made even better by the very helpful advice of the landlord, whose suggestions saved us both time and money. All the staff, without exception, were friendly and helpful.

Good location close to Durham. The rooms were basic but had everything we needed for overnight stay. The Inn also serves food and we had a lovely meal, I would highly recommend eating there when staying. The breakfast was without doubt the biggest breakfast I have ever had!! It was beautiful but to be honest there was a bit too much. This hotel certainly offers value for money and I would recommend it.

Clean spacy room and bathroom (in the bathroom you could sleep easily on the floor next to the bath if you are 160 cm), friendly staff, tasty English breakfast. Could only stay overnight due to tight holiday schedule, which was a shame. The only thing I wished I had was wi-fi access.

Warm and friendly. We were given careful attention. The breakfast was exceptional both in quality and quantity. Although we did not have the opportunity to have dinner there there is a very extensive and imaginitive menu which is clearly popular with clients Staircase is not easy for the elderly. Bathroom door did not shut

The hotel staff were very friendly and the food was excellent. We arrived at night and passed by the place twice because there was no illuminated sign. Once we arrived, we had to bang on the window of the restaurant to get the attention of the staff.

I have stayed in many places and have been fussy about where I stay even in 4/5 star . But I have to say this may not be a fancy hotel but for the money well worth every penny....This is a very friendly and welcoming pub. We enjoyed our stay even though it was only 1 night Had a fantastic time. Food was excellent and could not fault it in any way. Just wish we had been staying longer. Martyn and Zara were very helpful, nothing was too much , they went out of there way and above to accomdate me and my family. We thank them and will be coming back there in 2012. But will make it a longer stay... Well done. ( there is nothing to dislike about the Three Horse Shoes)

We stayed here to shop at the Metro and also Durham Xmas market, it turned out slightly further from the Metro than I had thought but it was very handy for the Durham Market, and as travelling with car not too much of a problem for the Metro. The staff were friendly and food was great with plenty of choice. Double room we booked had double bed and bunk beds in it but there was still plenty of space. The room was cold on our second night, did not seem to be any heating on although it was December and due to the location of the inn it is very exposed to the wind and did find it quite hard to sleep with the noise of this, but it was still a most enjoyable stay.

Very friendly and welcoming hosts and all the staff made us feel that our custom was valued. I would definately recommend the Three Horseshoes Inn, it was a bargain at £50 for the night and if we decide to go to Durham again we will definately stay there.

The staff were amazingly welcoming. It,s so nice that it is family owned and run. One of them even offered us a lift into town if we missed the bus, a kind gesture. We had a lovely dinner, very reasonable prices, and the convenience of a pub atmosphere plus restaurant food. The facilities in the room were every bit as good as in a far more expensive place, tea and coffee, lots of biscuits and bottled water. It was alittle noisy on the front, but not too bad. Overall, a very plewasant place which we would recommenbd as a convenient b and b to explore the area. Fab breakfasts.....you don't need lunch!!! Thankyou for a great birthday treat.
