The rural location combined with the proximity to the A1M and the historical city of Durham. the staff were all very pleasant and helpful. The breakfast was huge!

The food in the restaurant was plentiful and tasted pretty good. The portions for breakfast were large but we found the English breakfast was really greasy (we preferred the smoked haddock). The scenery is absolutely beautiful and second to none.

The place has a really run down feeling: the carpets are worn, the rooms are tired, the paint is peeling, and there's a pervasive smoky smell throughout the place. The wireless did not work for us in our room so we had to go to the restaurant to access it. This was not the value we were hoping for.

room was a little small but have to say you do not spend all day in your room so was ok for sleeping.

Friendly welcome from hosts, comfortable rooms and ready on arrival, breakfast vast and plenty of choice. Evening meals filling and value for money. Thank you sara and martin for making our trip enjoyable.

We had a thoroughly enjoyable stay. Best part was we could take our dog with us. The food was excellent, piping hot. Breakfast was a feast in itself.

The staff were very welcoming and friendly. Beware of portions in the restaurant - they are enormous! (And tasty.) A full English breakfast is enough food for a week or so. The city can be reached quickly and conveniently.

The corridors are getting shabby, but the room was very clean.

Excellent value for money and very pet-friendly. Bar meal menu was far more extensive than we expected and was very reasonably priced. Owners and all staff very friendly and accommodating.

Room was a bit dated but still great for the price paid.

The owners, Martin and Sara, are wonderful, friendly, accommodating people. The Inn is a very homey, cozy place, and breakfast is everything we could ask for in a good start to the day! Overall, we had an excellent stay.

It was clean but the decor was "tired".

The staff where very friendly. The room was quite a good size and very clean. The breakfast was exceptional.

If I have a problem it is the check out at 10am but I am sure that if we had required extra time it would have been available.

The staff we're all friendly and helpful, both on check-in and during breakfast (which was really nice) in the morning. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. There was plenty of parking and was only a 10 minute drive into the city centre.

The room was by an A road, so it was quite noisy at night and every time a car drove past the room lit up. The bathroom was quite dated and the plumbing made a lot of noise.

The owners were very friendly and helpful, very welcoming to us, our teenage family and our dog. The meals were enormous and very tasty. All home cooked food, large portions and the restaurant /bar had a very relaxed atmosphere. The rooms were comfortable and spacious.
