Very friendly and helpful staff. Good location for walking/cycling. It is near the sea, though there is a caravan park and a railway in between that limits the view. Breakfast was limited, as was the dinner menu. Bedroom was spacious but at the back of the hotel with an extraction fan nearby that ran all night. There is a caravan park on the site, and the hotel/spa is open to the public, so the guest areas feel quite public. Expensive for a limited service hotel unless you intend to make full use of the facilities.

The staff were really friendly and helpful, the pool and spa were great, the room was brilliant with a jaquizzi bath and 4 poster bed, the evening meal was gourmet standard and the breakfast was plentiful and tasty only stayed one night!! Should have stayed 2 to have time to look around the area.

Very dog friendly hotel with lovely staff who were very helpful. Very close to the beach and the upgraded room was most welcome as the sea view was lovely. The bed, despite being large was sadly very firm and too uncomfortable for a good night's sleep.

Staff were very engaging, pleasant and keen to help. My room was large and comfortable. It was a good base for a three-day business trip, travelling daily into Carmarthen, but getting out to a restful place for the evening. The restaurant food was perfectly adequate and wholesome, but disappointing. My first evening I had locally caught sea-trout. The meal was fine, but the fish and the vegetables were over-done. It was adequate pub grub, but it was not fine dining.

Quiet location, reasonable sized rooms, pleasant staff. Range of the menu was fairly unexciting and the standard of cooking was only ok. Breakfast was fine but the evening meals were rather standard fare.

We went for the cycle route 4 which was breathtaking. The food was excellent and varied. The staff were very prompt and helpful at all times giving information when required. The room was spacious, beautiful and very clean. The hotel was situated right by the sea with a sea view as well. Plenty of parking and a castle close by. They will also go out of their way to accommodate families and have an area for bikes if necessary. We will definitely be going again but will take the children as well so that they can share the wonderful experience which we have enjoyed.

The staff are fab. Caroline greeted us with a smile and was so so helpful. Rob in the evening was a pleasure to meet and nothing was too much trouble for either of them. The room was very spacious and very comfortable. The views were breathtaking. We used the spa facilities and yet again were 1st class. We will stay here again and have already reconmended it to our friends. We did not have the time to stay longer. There was nothing we did not like at all.

Was very quiet and pretty easy to find. Was using it to travel to Carmarthen every day, which was easy. All very clean in the room. Swimming pool good to have. Some reviewers have said no mobile signal - that's not strictly true. Orange was ok for voice and text, although my phone could not get the internet (my laptop said was a "fair" free wi-fi signal in room - did not use it). Parking great. Have stayed in hotels in centre of Carmarthen and although this is maybe less convenient, it is definitely better quality. It's a bit out of the way and I could have lived without overlooking a caravan park, but not a serious problem and nice view of Llanstephan Castle beyond it. Staff at dinner could perhaps have been a bit quicker (not run off their feet!) but you wouldn't say it was bad service. The hotel looks a bit tired from the outside, but that was not representative of the room.

Stunning location with beautiful views over the beach, estuary and castle. Extremely helpful staff (particularly Caroline on Reception) who was always on hand to offer help and advice. Meals in restaurant were very good but be prepared to go on a diet when you leave - portions were enormous! I can honestly say this was my best hotel experience as a female solo traveller.

Lovely location, very quiet. Spa facilities excellent. Attention to detail would enhance the hotel immensely. Decor a bit tired looking and in places very cobwebby! Not enough staff perhaps?

Excellent Fish served in the restaurant. Good breakfast. Huge room and bathroom! massive bed, nice having the balcony. This was the noisiest hotel I have ever stayed in. Walls so thin you can hear conversations (and bathroom habits) in next room. Caravan park thoughtlessly noisey until very late at night. Terrible liver served in the retaurant.

I thought the hotel was maintained and decorated to a high standard. Everywhere was very clean.the pool ans s pa facilities are great. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. I will definitely use this hotel again and would recommend it. The only thing that I would have a small complaint about would be that the bed (room 26) was very hard. I could not honestly fault the hotel on anything else.

the building had lots of character and quaint, homemade touches. the bathroom was lovely with a big corner bath and seperate shower. the balcony on our room was spacious, table & chairs to enjoy the beautiful views. the staff were friendly, relaxed and helpful facilities were good, sauna and steam rooms at good temperatures and clean inside, pool was warm and the jacuzzi worked well. the potted plants were lovely however the watering system was a little erratic.....sudden bursts of water from the balcony above and next to the outdoor seating area...perhaps there could be warnings or watering times provided. the spa area looked a little grubby in places, the changing room lockers were very small and the floors slippery...bear in mind it had been very busy the night before with a wedding party which may have been the reason for some of this.
