Ferryside grew from the now non-operational Ferry crossing on the river Tywi, on the ancient pilgrims' route to St David's Cathedral.
Kidwelly, with its Norman castle, industrial heritage museum, Pembrey Country Park and Motorsport centre, Airfield and proposed horse racing course, lies within approximately 10 minutes travelling time.
The National Botanical Gardens, Laugharne (famous for Dylan Thomas's Boathouse) and many Pembrokeshire attractions are about a half hour drive.
By Car:
From the north:
- From the main Carmarthen roundabout, head south on the A484 towards Kidwelly/Burryport.
- Pass over 2 minor roundabouts.
- Continue for four miles.
- Tunr right at the signpost for Three Rivers Hotel and Spa.
- Pass through the village until you come to a sharp left-hand bend; turn right into the hotel car park.
