The beds were lumpy and could do with new mattresses. Breakfast was ok but not the best experience. Noise from very busy road kept us awake so not a very restful stay.
The hotel was really clean and the room was huge, 4 of us stayed in a family room for a night out and was really good value for money :)
The staff were very friendly and helpful, the place was clean and comfortable, the breakfast was plentiful and of a good quality.
- personnel was great - free wifi - very close to Anfield Road stadium - close to city center (not in the city center)
- very noisy rooms as it is right next to highay - rooms were chilly and heating was not enough to heat the room
Staff were friendly. Accomodation was excellent
Very friendly staff
Staff was very friendly. Full english breakfast was tasty and generous. Location was convenient for football fan. Walking distance for both Everton and Liverpool stadiums.
WiFi was not working
Stayed here for 2 nights for my boyfriends birthday. Staff were extremely pleasant and very knowledgeable about about sights etc. Breakfast was outstanding, worth staying for that alone! Kevin has a lovely place, we will return again!!
The room was a bit too warm for our liking but we just opened the window, it wasn't a problem.
This hotel is lovely staff are so friendly but it's very old fashioned and check out and breakfast are so early..
Check out and breakfast to early And wifi didn't work
Although a little dated, the hotel was clean and comfortable. Staff were excellent when we had a problem with our taxi on the last morning - even driving us themselves to our meeting!
Bedroom very clean and comfortable. Reception very helpful. Breakfast quite good.
Location a bit run down. Heavy smell of cigarette smoke. Adjoining pub - there was at least one elderly person actually smoking!
Breakfast good and staff very polite. Good size room.
Parking. The bar wasn't good. No crisps, not a very good selection of beer.
I chose this hotel because of the reviews on Trip Advisor and I was not disappointed. The owner and staff were very friendly, kind, helpful and reassuring. The room was very clean and the beds were very comfortable. Safe parking was available at the side of the hotel and Great Homer Street market is a 5/10 minute walk away. WE didn't have breakfast so I can't comment on that.
My only problem with the hotel was the very loud noise from the plumbing when the person in, what sounded like the next room, either showered or flushed the toilet. When I spoke to the owner about it the next morning he explained to me that it was a new system but had had to be a particular type to accommodate the listed building. Also, the hotel is in a very run down area but the people were friendly and my daughter and I felt safe.
Top staff! Salt of the earth people! Went to liverpool to meet up with friends for a night out. Missed breakfast and woke up with a massive hangover....and a bacon butty on my table, bonus! The lovely lady behind the bar ensured i did not miss my lift. Would definately recommend The Throstle for a cheap and cheerful stay close to the city centre
The staff were very welcoming, friendly and helpful. Our room and bathroom were very spacious and clean. It was great value for money.
The room was a little cold and it was too far away from the centre to walk however only a short taxi ride.
Everone was really friendly and helped me with all kinds of questions, including very good tipps for sight-seeing in Liverpool. Wi-Fi was very easy to use and very fast. Breakfast was good value for money. Going to the city centre is easy - it's about a 5-10 minutes' ride from a bus stop very close by.
My single room had a separate bathroom across the floor. Furthermore, the heating seemed not to work in my room.
Location of the hotel Breakfast quality
1. There was smoking smell all over my room and contacting the reception I understood that this was not smoking allowed hotel however it continued till 1-2 am 2. Room was not good as compared to modern hotels but basic facilities could have been good like toilet flush was not working, room was very small as compared to Radisson Blu where I was paying 15£ less per day and getting double large room 3. I almost burnt myself when the shower handle got turned due to very small moving space there 4. No escalators, elevators 5. Hot water equipment was ages old and had rusting marks inside
I'm sorry but there was nothing I liked, we can't comment on breakfast as we didn't stay for it.
Hard to find with Sat Nav. No car park/secure parking. Parking is on the street, we had our car written on. Pillows and bedspread smelled, damp and musty. Our room was over the bar downstairs, loud music until 10.30 mixed with the noise of the toilet/shower pump and noise of the traffic drove me crazy. I did ask if we could be moved but hotel was full.
The hotel staff was excellent, out of the charts. We met different people working at the hotel during the weekend and all of them were super helpful and friendly. They know everything you'll need for your visit in Liverpool and they will help you as much as they can. Besides the breakfast is really good and the filter coffee is outstanding!
The hotel is difficult to find as it is on the outskirts of Liverpool and there is literally nothing around the hotel apart from a very beautiful church next to it. Although the bus links are good because there's a bus stop right next to the hotel and the taxi will only cost £5, if you want to walk it takes a good 15 minutes from the centre.
There were a group of 6 of us that stayed here for the Bellew 's Cleverley fight. Kevin, the manager, was one of the friendliest and helpful members of staff we've ever come across in any hotel. He told us where to park out cars (next to the hotel, free and safe) and gave us a map with information about the kind of places we'd enjoy going to after the boxing. The room was really clean and the beds were in good condition and very comfortable all of us got a good sleep. Although not in the centre of the city it was less than a 15 minute drive to Albert Docks and the Echo arena
The room was lovely, clean and warm. The staff were very friendly and helpful with abundant knowledge and stories of the area. Breakfast was very nice with plenty of options. We went to watch the football and the hotel was equal distant to city center and the ground, about 1/2 hour walk each way. Would definitely stay here again
They told us where to go, where the market was, recommended the Beatles taxi which was fantastic and very cheap
I've had a Stroke and I can't use my right arm but there was only one handrail on the right so I struggled to get up the stairs, also they didn't say that they had given us a room without a toilet and shower which was down the corridor
Was walking distance of anfield and short drive to city center. Was clean, comfortable, staff were very friendly and helpful. I've no complaints about my stay
Very helpful staff room really comfy and great breakfast
