Top staff! Salt of the earth people! Went to liverpool to meet up with friends for a night out. Missed breakfast and woke up with a massive hangover....and a bacon butty on my table, bonus! The lovely lady behind the bar ensured i did not miss my lift. Would definately recommend The Throstle for a cheap and cheerful stay close to the city centre
The staff were very welcoming, friendly and helpful. Our room and bathroom were very spacious and clean. It was great value for money.
The room was a little cold and it was too far away from the centre to walk however only a short taxi ride.
Everone was really friendly and helped me with all kinds of questions, including very good tipps for sight-seeing in Liverpool. Wi-Fi was very easy to use and very fast. Breakfast was good value for money. Going to the city centre is easy - it's about a 5-10 minutes' ride from a bus stop very close by.
My single room had a separate bathroom across the floor. Furthermore, the heating seemed not to work in my room.
Location of the hotel Breakfast quality
1. There was smoking smell all over my room and contacting the reception I understood that this was not smoking allowed hotel however it continued till 1-2 am 2. Room was not good as compared to modern hotels but basic facilities could have been good like toilet flush was not working, room was very small as compared to Radisson Blu where I was paying 15£ less per day and getting double large room 3. I almost burnt myself when the shower handle got turned due to very small moving space there 4. No escalators, elevators 5. Hot water equipment was ages old and had rusting marks inside
I'm sorry but there was nothing I liked, we can't comment on breakfast as we didn't stay for it.
Hard to find with Sat Nav. No car park/secure parking. Parking is on the street, we had our car written on. Pillows and bedspread smelled, damp and musty. Our room was over the bar downstairs, loud music until 10.30 mixed with the noise of the toilet/shower pump and noise of the traffic drove me crazy. I did ask if we could be moved but hotel was full.
The hotel staff was excellent, out of the charts. We met different people working at the hotel during the weekend and all of them were super helpful and friendly. They know everything you'll need for your visit in Liverpool and they will help you as much as they can. Besides the breakfast is really good and the filter coffee is outstanding!
The hotel is difficult to find as it is on the outskirts of Liverpool and there is literally nothing around the hotel apart from a very beautiful church next to it. Although the bus links are good because there's a bus stop right next to the hotel and the taxi will only cost £5, if you want to walk it takes a good 15 minutes from the centre.
There were a group of 6 of us that stayed here for the Bellew 's Cleverley fight. Kevin, the manager, was one of the friendliest and helpful members of staff we've ever come across in any hotel. He told us where to park out cars (next to the hotel, free and safe) and gave us a map with information about the kind of places we'd enjoy going to after the boxing. The room was really clean and the beds were in good condition and very comfortable all of us got a good sleep. Although not in the centre of the city it was less than a 15 minute drive to Albert Docks and the Echo arena
The room was lovely, clean and warm. The staff were very friendly and helpful with abundant knowledge and stories of the area. Breakfast was very nice with plenty of options. We went to watch the football and the hotel was equal distant to city center and the ground, about 1/2 hour walk each way. Would definitely stay here again
They told us where to go, where the market was, recommended the Beatles taxi which was fantastic and very cheap
I've had a Stroke and I can't use my right arm but there was only one handrail on the right so I struggled to get up the stairs, also they didn't say that they had given us a room without a toilet and shower which was down the corridor
Was walking distance of anfield and short drive to city center. Was clean, comfortable, staff were very friendly and helpful. I've no complaints about my stay
Very helpful staff room really comfy and great breakfast
Good value for money Friendly staff
Poor Wifi signal (non existent in our room)
Within walking distance to Anfield. Still a 25 min walk. Breakfast was quite excellent.
Shared bathroom for our room not stated clearly on booking.com
Not having en suite facilities should have been told when booked
Everything! And if you are an Everton fan its 15 mins away from the stadium!
Wi-fi was okay but not great.
Very friendly, helpful staff Huge room and bathroom Good Breakfast
Excellent location. Staff very helpful. Good breakfast
Friendly, helpful staff Good sized room for 3 people Breakfast - nice and lots of variety
Location - it's a 15-20 minute walk along a main road
Location 15 min by walk to Anfield and 10 min by public bus to city center, very helpful staff, good and plentiful breakfast, clean
Area around hotel will be regenerated in the next months so a lot of building going on at the moment but thankfully no noise inside hotel. As hotel is an 18th century building be prepared for some rattling of the windows during bad weather and wind coming in through windows as they are single glased and not shutting tight. In the morning the smell of breakfast comes in from the kitchens downstairs because of that...
Excellent breakfast - plenty of choice!
Could do with a larger shower cubicle, was a little on the small side.
Easy to find, good location. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Good breakfast selection.
Single-glazed room didn't block out noise form main road. Directly upstairs from pub meaning loud music until late at night. Room was unbearably warm at times despite provision of a fan.
A warm welcome from friendly, accommodating staff, lovely room, very comfortable and clean. Nothing to complain about other than the location was a little unfriendly on arrival but the use of Delta taxi's to and from the hotel was excellent value for money with friendly and informative drivers. We would definately return to Throstles Nest.
We didn't like the area on arrival but once we entered the hotel reception we were happy and this didn't affect our weekend in any way, great taxi service.
Good location for the football. Wifi very slow!!! Breakfast lovely!
breakfast was really good. staff very helpful.
very noisy as they still have single pane windows and is next to a busy dual carriageway, really needs updating.
