1. Good wifi 2. Bed was comfy 3. Good heating facilities and the room was very big
1. The guy in the reception can do better 2. The checkin time was 2pm but the checkout time is 10am which is annoying. 3. Location is ok
Location staff comfort and price
We liked the location, we could walk straight into the centre of edinburgh. The street it was on was very multicultural and we found some great food along the way.
The rooms were freezing, I went to bed fully dressed in the first night and the beds were extremely uncomfortable. Breakfast was average and the staff barely spoke to is during our stay.
Location good. Rooms spacious
Bed was so uncomfortable!
New bathroom Car park to rear of property Ease of getting into the central area of the city
Full Scottish breakfast was missing pork products
The hotel is close or within walking distance to the city center and buses that can take you anywhere in the city if needed, Phillip the receptionist was extremely helpful and very nice as were the other staff, I felty very comfortable, I was very impressed with my room considering the price I paid I wasn't expecting something that nice, it suited me really well and would definitely stay there again next time
Shower was cold on the first and last day of my stay but that was easily sorted out as soon as I spoke to one of the staff...even though it was winter I couldn't open the windows when I needed fresh air (was almost sure they are glued shut) however I didn't ask the staff about this, they would have been helpful am sure as they had been my entire stay
The young man in the reception was really friendly and helpfull. Also the lady who to care of the breakfast. We left early in the morning to catch our plane and they put a bag with breakfast on our door! That was awesome!
The bed was awfull. The first two nights we slept in this room and i woke up with a broken body. After complaining we got another room which was better.
Staff, worth of money
Brakfast could be improved
The location is ideal for visiting the city centre, within walking distance
Location was fine for sightseeing in the city center, breakfast was ok and people working there were nice
Bed was to hard for me but for my partner it was fine.
The huge room and the decoration
A bit cold in early morning or late night cause of the central heating
The reception in the hotel is open until 10pm. In my case, when the plane was late I had to pay 5 pounds for each half hour after 10 pm.
Phillip at front desk took time c it to help us plan our itinerary and went ahead and even searched for customized tours for us. Had a lovely stay and would love to visit again.
the location, breakfast and parking.
drab and depressing decor in our room. could do with a brighter colour not brown and taupe. nice comfy double bed.
Nice room and shower. Very close to Arthur's seat.
There was a 2% surcharge if you paid credit or debit instead of cash. This should be better advertised.
Friendly helpful staff, arranged an early breakfast for me which was good.
The bar and restaurant, werent open which was a shame, but went next door to the Minto hotel which did good food.
Great for the price and continental breakfast was good a lot of choice.
Quite noisy first night of stay lasted about 40mins 11pm-11.40pm. But otherwise good.
Very large bedrooms new bathroom helpful staff free carpark free internet on major bus route walkable into centre
The staff were pleasant and helpful. Its location on five bus routes makes it easy to get into and out of town. The room was clean. There was a comfortable reading chair. My request for a ground floor room was granted.
The bath room had no towel racks. There is a lounge, but it is not one in which you would want to sit and read for a while. The Danish pastries were cold.
Location is good, facilities, acceptable, breakfast is ok but limited and the receptionist was helpfull.
Carpets needs to be vacuumed, no cummunucation with the reception, breakfast need to be improved, cleansing the room needs to be improved without asking for new towels toilet paper.
location, helpful staff, served my purpose of staying close to University Accommodation (Pollock Halls)
tiny - unusable sink in the ensuite and an impractical shower, doors slamming can create some noise.
Staff were helpful and polite, and breakfast was quick to arrive.
Several issues with the booking (which meant I had to move on to a separate B&B after one night), and the shower was not very strong and irritating heat variance. Breakfast okay, but staff stretched. Overall a bit basic.
The help was very helpful and friendly.
Policy of no eggs with breakfast unless you ask the night before and pay $5. Policy of no heat unless you ask for an electric space heater-- I was cold the first night. Drab room decoration.
Spacious family room and really big and nice bathroom. On cold and rainy days (in august!) the rooms were heated.
Receptionist insisted on paying upon arrival and 2% more for paying by card (there was no such information on Booking.com).
pleasant staff nice grounds
hotel a bit basic, would have expected bar facilities or at least a lounge. cooked breakfast should have been included, not 'extra'. The decor was tired and needs upgrading.
