Tigerlily125 George Street, New Town, EH2 4JN Edinburgh (Show map) Wonderful, Score from 60 reviews“Large room, very good bed, excellent bathroom and shower. Breakfast and service was excellent. Location just off Rose St precinct was excellent. Much better overall experience at Tigerlilly than a 5 star hotel we stayed at later in our visit to Edinburgh.”

Amazingly comfortable bed, really fun design elements in room, large wet room. We arrived late and it wasn't immediately clear what kind of room service might be available - in the end we didn't bother to order any. Breakfast was served in lovely surroundings but I thought that the eggs Benedict could have been hotter, more spinach, less creamy sauce: I'd have given them only a 5/10.

The hotel is truly luxurious and perfectly placed to explore the City of Edinburgh, and is set in a more quiet part of the City. The bar and restaurant were excellent and the decor sumptuous.

Liked the Ambience. Friendliness of staff. Did not like being charged £10.00 for the use of a candle. Also charged £3.00 for the use of a small dental kit. I did not realise at the time, that they ere chargeable under the heading of 'Mini Bar'. Shocking especially after paying £230.00 for room for night. I would have to think very carefully before returning to this hotel. There is much better value for money out there.

We liked the atmosphere, warm and welcoming. The decor is of a high standard both in the hotel areas and the rooms. We had a great experience and would defiantly stay there again. Overall everything was good, however our room wasn't ready when we arrived.Little extra touches like being offered a complimentary drink while we waited would have been a nice touch rather than having to buy our own.

I liked the decor and styling throughout I liked the hotel staff being polite, yet friendly I liked the large shower and design of the bedroom and bathroom I liked the room facilities It was very difficult to work out how to use the lights in our room I thought the man reminding us about the checkout time (we were 20 mins delayed) could have been friendlier Service could have been better in the restaurant - we waited a long time to be seated, and waited a long time to be served etc as there was only one girl waiting on. The stains all over the lounge and restaurant furnishings downstairs was quite off putting. The newspaper was supposed to be free according to booking.com but it wasnt (£1.70)

If one likes fancy new design and trendy people very comfortable rooms So fashionable that it becomes completely anonymous and impersonal, far too expensive and crowded

The staff aand ambiance were wonderful. The attention to detail was very impressive. Ghd straighteners in the room, Fresh lime and knife beside the mini bar. Food in the retaurant was exquisite and we were given a complimentary glass of champagne as it was my fiance's birthday.

It is a very chic hotel, full of people having fun and the staff are on the whole faultless. I was in Edinburgh with my wife for my birthday and although the hotel restaurant was fully booked, the reception staff went out of their way, without being asked, to find and book a table for us at another restaurant, at an extremely busy time (last weekend before Christmas). Love this hotel!

Great restaurant - best morning porridge ever, and u don't have to pay for full buffet, instead u can choose what u want. Also, great location and friendly staff. The "glam design", though, is a matter of taste ;) There is a nightclub downstairs - so take earplugs with u.

The location at the end of George Street was lovely; close to quality shopping and restaurants, within walking distance of the main rail station and the main tourist attractions. Although staff were very friendly and very helpful, we had to ask more than once for things; we asked 3x for express check-out but never got it, asked early one morning (9:20) for an electrical plug which they said they would send someone out for right away and would be brought to the room - at 4:00 P.M. it wasn't there and no one had any record of the request. At the second request it was provided. That kind of thing.

The amazing location of the hotel and the friendliness of the hotel staff The hotel was built and provided with the topshelve furniture and equipments but unfortunately for someone who cares about the very little details I found that the proper maintenance for a such luxoriose hotel is quite bellow the expectation.

Much better overall experience at Tigerlilly than a 5 star hotel we stayed at later in our visit to Edinburgh. There is no parking at the hotel - its all on street metered parking that you feed yourself. Overnight from 1830 to 0830 is unmetered however.

The bed ....it's really comfy we had stayed before and the reason we stayed on this trip to edinburgh rather than choosing Hotel Du Vin as last year (annual vacation to scotland) as it's closer to shopping and all the Historical stuff Maybe I was just lucky the first time round but this time it was all a little "frayed around the edges" ....still solid amenities like ghd straightners in the rooms, amazingly comfy beds, gas fire... Ok room service. But two fire alarms in one night and no reference or apology on behalf of probably the usual guest who set it off, looked at and then ignored by bartenders on entry for breakfast "as obviously not their job to seat the guest" freezing cold restaurant (some other guests had their coats on) a waiter who forgot the toast, butter, coffee..... Maybe he was woken by the fire alarm also.... Not sure would stay again based on this experience....shame. But maybe we were just unlucky.

The staff were absolutely top class! I took ill on my journey to Edinburgh and they were outstandingly helpful during my stay. The room was spacious and very comfortable In the evening the bar was very busy and noisy and there didnt seem to be a way into the hotel except through the bar (the door was locked). But saying that you couldnt hear a peep once in the room. Also the floor in the bathroom was incredibly slippy which proved a problem since the shower was a wet room
