Sara. The food, the bar, the room, all of it.
That I had to leave.
Beautiful, small hotel. Very pleasant staff and great location. Incredible bathroom and comfortable clean rooms.
It was fabulous!! Everything from the staff to the room itself! Will definitely return
The staff were so very welcoming and sorted out all matters quickly and efficiently. Location is excellent, so central for exploring the city. Food and drink also excellent. The evenings had a lively buzz, and good atmosphere.
The bass line from the club music at night/early morning, although it wasn't loud enough to keep me awake.
Great location, staff was super helpful and accommodating as I had just arrived from the airport on an early morning flight. The rooms were beautiful, very spacious and cleanly. Definitely recommend :)
All staffmembers were very friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed our stay!
The food was excellent and the bed very comfy.
We were in room 4. This was a luxury room booked for my partners 40th birthday. It was on the first floor. We had loud music coming from the bar directly beneath us until after 1.30am. Considering the amount of money we paid for this room there should have been a warning that the music is very load and disruptive. We went to the restaurant for a booking at 8.45pm. We were sat a the busiest part of the restaurant with no acknowledgement at all that we were guests of the hotel. We were sat next to a hen night and very close to the bar. The music was so load we had to shout at each other to make conversation - I thought this was a very poor way to treat guests. After 20 mins the waitress kindly found us a better table. The DJ was playing very good music which we enjoyed but you can't advertise that you have a good restaurant when you can't even make conversation with the person sitting next to you. We went to our room at midnight and we could hear every song booming up the walls. The day before I had also called ahead to explain that it was my partners 40th birthday and asked if there was anyway his desert could be embellished with something to mark the occasion - this was clearly forgotten about as nothing ever appeared on either plate. Additionally I had also called ahead to check if an early check in was still possible having requested one on line. I called on the morning to double check and was told this should be fine. I was at a conference during the day and had to leave at lunch time to meet by partner at the hotel - the room was not ready but I felt there could have been some forewarning to let us know as it ruined our plans during the day as I had to leave my partner to check in his own to the room which i had booked as a surprise birthday gift - this was very disappointing as i had to leave and there was no apology.
The location is central, but quiet. The staff are excellent. The restaurant is lovely.
The bathroom did not seem to have a fan, so it got very steamed up. 3 pm check in was rather inconvenient.
Great hotel , we were upgraded to a suite on arrival.
Lighting in suite a bit dim, but not a huge problem
This might not be the cheapest hotel, but it oozes comfort and class. Nothing was too much bother for the staff and the place is tastefully fitted out with style and comfort in mind. Breakfast was first class - choice and quality
I would have to nit pick to find any faults
Location to Edinburgh Castle, staff friendliness, food quality, taste, lovely hotel.
Vibrant hotel with good food and a wide range of attractive drinks. Friendly and helpful staff and an excellent breakfast service. Modern room with tasteful decor and a well-stocked minibar!
There was nothing to not like!
Friendliness and politeness of staff. Stylish spacious rooms. Excellent bar and cocktails. Room facilities and equipment all top draw.
Venue, staff, surroundings and especially late breakfast were awsome...
Lovely room, beautifully set out. Nice service and great location.
The rooms/doors need to be sound proofed as I could hear the neighboring room's terrible house music and late night antics at 4am!
Food was nice. Room was spacious. Bar and restaurant good.
Check in 3.00pm. Arrived 3.10 wet and cold. Room not ready. Asked to wait in bar. 4.30 came and went so I went to reception. Had forgotten about us. Took us to room having booked dinner for 6.30 as going out later to see a show at the fringe. Wanted to put fire on and couldn't. Couldn't get half the lights to work. Spent half an hour trying to work the complicated lighting system. Phoned reception who sent someone up. Turns out fuse had went. Fire needed to be charged so we had an hour to get ready for dinner and then out for the evening, back into the wet and cold still suffering the effects from the previous soaking and the 2 and a half hours waiting on our room and the electrics not working. Do they not check this things before putting guests in the room? Spent close to 300 quid in the hotel for one night and having read the reviews was expecting a lot and was very disappointed. More so as I was hoping my girlfriend would enjoy a wee break as she works really hard. Both of us came home exhausted and feeling lousy with the experience. No apology either for the room wait. Probably just unlucky experience but the simple things like not forgetting your customers are sitting cold and wet waiting on their room is poor
We were upgraded on arrival to a Jnr suite!! Everything was luxury!! Food and cocktails were amazing, staff were great, best hotel we've stayed in!!
Nothing Tigerlily can't be faulted!!
It was my gfreinds birthday and upgraded us for that
Good location with a very clean room. Delicious breakfasts & friendly staff
We arrived before check in time at 2pm. I have stayed at other hotels that despite being early gave a room without having to wait til check in time
Beautiful small boutique hotel. Awesome bar and restaurant down below. In an area where many good bar and food options.
Bar area was good and friendly very clean
Room was not worth 195 pounds wallpaper was hanging off wall cobwebs in corners of the room spotlights in toilet was hanging down not up to standard for the money. When we checked out in the morning i was not asked anything about my stay i love edinburgh but i was let down with the room especially as it was my wifes birthday.
Complimentary cocktail vouchers were provided to compensate for the delay in being able to check into our room. Being able to accommodate a vegetarian with multiple food intolerances. It was much appreciated that they could provide soya milk when ordering porridge or muesli for breakfast.
Check in time was stated to be 14:00 however our room wasn't ready until approximately 15:30.
Staff were extremely pleasant and helpful. Room was luxurious ..best sleep in ages! Food was fab!
Check in was 2pm and never got into room until 3.30pm!
Location, room and bar. Staff recognised complaint made regarding the noise by e-mail in the middle of the night and were attentive about it in the morning but to be honest it was a bit too casual.
It was rather noisy on level one which albeit understandable to a point just was a bit too much - room 4 not the best clearly. Noise down at 1.15 am but still too much going on with doors in hall banging open and closed throughout the night and early morning.
Very trendy, cosy, il an elegant location full of restaurantes & bar.
