Good clean comfortable room. Rooms quiet at night. I didn't like the fact that the Hotel was full of men who were allowed to monopolise the bar in the evenings and to continually use foul language, totally unchallenged. We were forced to leave the bar. Even after complaining to reception we were invited to sit in the foyer and have our drink, there was no suggestion of having a word with the men using foul language, and asking them to stop so that ordinary people could sit in the bar and have a drink. I thought it was disgusting.

The staff at Tillington Hall were great, nothing was too much trouble and considering there were over 200 people for our conference there, they were quick at responding to our needs. Food was good and the main reception/ conference/ dining areas were comfy, well spaced and well catered for. I would recommend Tillington hall but purely because of the staff there. The bedrooms were very "budget" the beds were rock hard and the room was not the cleanest I have stayed in, there was damp in the bathroom and broken glass in the window and the lampshades were all twisted, plus the sheets and quilt covers in our room had holes in them. The corridors to the bedrooms were dated and there was wallpaper peeling from the walls and the corridor for the room 200 to 220 had quite a damp smell to them.

Friendly and helpful staff. Good breakfast. Comfortable bed. The hotel is very tired and could do with some urgent updating and decorating. The rooms were not at their best and there was mould in the bathroom. Also the bathroom was falling apart with trim coming off the sink and the loo seat was chipped.

Only caters for people on business...not suitable for families...Only marginly better than a travel lodge....So it should be a lot cheaper...Staff pleasant ...But not particularly friendly.....Bar and lounge.....a little bleak.....Not suitable for families....Was happy with previous visits when it had swimming facilities etc......would not book again......unless at a lot cheaper price....location was very convenient to visit family.....But still would not stay again......unless it was cheaper...

Very easy to get to and pleasantly quiet. Room a little dated but fine. No hot water in the morning meant an envigorating shower, the like of which I last had camping! Call me fusy but I do like a good old fashioned fried egg for breakfast - only scrambled egg available! Price at top end of bracket but value ok.

Its location for a university visit Decor is slightly dated, in our case there was mould in a corner of the bathroom, the sink plug was'nt secured, and the toilet paper was very poor quality. Doulble glazing would be a benefit and curtains that do not cover the radiator would ensure that the heat goes into the room and not to the window. All were minor problems and would not stop us returning.

Friendliness and helpfulness of all staff. Good location and good food. We were disappointed to find it necessary to have to ask for the heating to be switched on one cold evening at 1900 hrs. Our request was acted upon immediately, thanks.
