A wonderful mansion in 15 acres of parkland with four-poster rooms, award-winning cuisine, fine wines and an elegant decor.

A perfect country retreat in north Northumberland within the unspoilt Scottish Borders and close to the river Tweed and Coldstream.

I liked that the hotel had the feel of a much larger hotel ie you didn't feel that you were living in someone else's house which you can do in hotels with so few bedrooms

The locations of the walks on the estate were not obvious

friendly staff

Moth in bathroom and three flies in the room, even on the top floor. Food was not as good as we thought i.e AA standard.

The Hotel was simply fantastic. The whole experience was a joy.

The wi-fi network was not available...but this was not enough to drop the score from 'excellent'.
