On behalf of the person I booked for: "It was very good, and the service was impeccable."
The owners were super friendly, the breakfast had everything you might want and the room was very clean and comfortable.
I would not usually think of a B&B but from the outset this looked good. I was prepared to make allowances, but no need. As good as many hotels and better than some I've known. Quality, experience and attention to detail. Fiercely proud of their standards. Good for you.
If I had to suggest something then it might be the walls. I found those between rooms a little thin with consequential noise from my neighbour. Not a major problem, but…...
great place to stay, made feel welcome, staff very helpful.
the wifi was a bit up and down, but that's the same in any place I've stayed.
Angela & Alan were so hospitable; breakfast was amazing; they really go the extra mile. Would definitely stay again.
An excellent find near Colchester... almost a home from home(!), with some brilliant touches that bring it up from 'great' to 'fantastic'. Great location, lovely room, and fantastic breakfast. Just perfect ... !!
The hosts, perfect both of them truly perfect
Still thinking! Cant find anything
The landlord is nice and ehthusiasm, this is a very comfortable place to live in. There area lot of options for the breakfast. I would recommend Timber to my others friends!
Attention to detail e.g complimentary fruit and sherry in room, fresh tea and home made cake on arrival. Good choice on breakfast menu, beautifully cooked and presented good quality food.
Made welcome at the front door, arrived at our room just before a pot of tea was delivered. That set the standard for the rest of our stay. the food was superb. The room was beautifully furnished with a view onto immaculate lawns and garden. Nothing was too much trouble for the proprietors Allan and Angela.
Nothing not to like.
Delicious breakfast. Lovely room. Extra touches such as, fruit, sherry, home made biscuits in room.
Everything was superb. Attention to detail with a few little extras stands 'Timbers' out from the crowd. Best breakfast going !!
Nothing to dislike all is good.
Can´t complain about a thing. Room was top class with attention to detail and comfort, breakfast menu was mouth watering and staff very attentive. The same standards and comfort we´re used to at home.
Wifi wasn´t offered but we didn´t remember to ask either.
Very accommodating hosts. Excellent breakfast. Immaculate accommodations. Quiet location.
Squeaky shower door hinge! (I'm a perfectionist and had to find something to dislike.)
Angela and Alan are friendly and welcoming hosts with a beautiful and well appointed home. The tea and cake on arrival was lovely, and nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast was superb, and ordering it the night before meant that breakfast was a relaxing experience with everything cooked to order.
We found the Colchester ring road, and lack of signage a nightmare, and roadworks and a diversion didn't help locate Timbers easily. Although superbly comfortable we thought that it was a bit pricey for a b and b
The owners were very friendly and very helpful.Breakfast was amazing.
Not used to being in the same house with owners. In saying that we are used to being in b&b's where you see the owner at Breakfast or when you ring because you need something but they were not intrusive at all.
It is hard to know where to start. We asked if we could arrive earlier than the 4pm check in which was no problem. Our room was very good, clean and everything matched, chairs, bed linen etc. Sherry in room and fruit and homemade shortbread where all a nice touch, extra tea bags as we mentioned my husband does like his tea (Thank-you). Breakfast was very good too, enjoyed the fresh fruit and locally produced jam. We went to see friends and i am sure we will stay there again when we visit them next. Thank-you Angela & Alan for a lovely stay.
Accommodation, atmosphere, cleanliness, excellent breakfast but most of all the warm welcome and personal touches by both Angela & Allan made this a great place to return to in the future.
Really friendly welcome, superb property, fantastic room with everything provided to make our stay a real pleasure. We would definitely use this B&B again and highly recommend it to everyone.Certainly lived up to the 9.6 rating.Thank you.
Well appointed accomodationin a quiet and secluded location. A warm welcome from the owners who were most attentive and helpful.Excellent breakfast.
Both Alan and Angela were excellent hosts, we felt so much at home. They are both interesting and interested. The accommodation was excellent in every way right down to the cold milk in the fridge to homemade shortbread in the room. We had an enormous terrific breakfast all cooked to order by Alan.
Could not find anything we didn't like!
really great bed and breakfast. Alan and Angela did everything to make us feel welcome in their beautiful home. Homemade shortbread and cake awaited us in our room on arrival (delicious!) Top restaurant recommendation, which Alan himself drove us to. Lovely and very generous breakfast. We couldn't find a single negative with this charming bed and breakfast. Thank you so much for making our stay so perfect. Much love from Chris and Hannah! :)
Tea and homemade cake in the garden on arrival. Hospitality tray included homemade shortbread. As well as a bottle of water there was also a small carafe of sherry and a couple of apples. Hosts very friendly and breakfast excellent.
