We all had a full English breakfast and they catered for a gluten free breakfast as well. They asked if we would like any more toast and drinks and were very attentive.

A lovely seaside town. Lots of restaurants, bars cafes. If you like walking there are coastal paths to follow. Great for surfers. Attractive wharf which has a pub, cafes and a bistro called The Olive tree which does really good food. For a really good Sunday lunch The Preston Gate Inn is a must. They have a large family adventure centre with an outdoor adventure playground. There is also a castle which is free to visit it has a cafe with stunning sea views. There are a number of beaches to visit. Varied shops consisting of a mix of both independent traders and well known stores. A great place to stay and north Devon is not far away if you wish to explore.

There is a great beach Summerleaze, which is really near the hotel where you can go on in summer or winter and have a great walk along the coast, or a paddle. There were lots of surfers out there.
There are plenty of cafes/restaurants to visit even in autumn/winter
Bude is a great central place to stay and easily visit other attractions in Cornwall and Devon - Eden project, Tintagel Castle, Lost Gardens of Heligan - just be aware that the satnav tends to send you down all those very narrow 1 track roads!
Only regret was that we didn’t manage to fit in a cream tea

I've been travelling to Bude for the last 42yrs, always try to get there at least once a year. Love this part of the country and the only place I feel totally relaxed and peaceful. Great sandy beaches, the great Bude sea pool, good food to be found in many places.
The sea lock leading to the Bude canal offers great walks, leading to nature trails, including bird hides looking over the marshes.
Great surfing and also great links golf course.

Breakfasts lovely, great choice, the rooms are lovely and comfortable and location is great for accessing everything Bude has to offer. We paid for parking at the Pay and Stay Car Park across the road which was £7 a day, as the restricted park outside the hotel was a little busy. John and Anita were great hosts and nothing was too much trouble for them. John even gave my son a little surfing advice and pointed him in the right direction with regards to board hire.
Will hopefully return in the near future. Thank you for taking care of us.
This is such a beautifully renovated property to stay at and exceptional quirky details in the fixtures and fittings. All appliances and furniture were high end and quality too, all well equipment to cook and prep food which made the stay nice. Great location with Bude just a couple of miles away and Widemouth Bay and the Beach House our fav restaurant just round the corner too and walking distance. Great to explore further into Cornwall too. The owners were so lovely and welcoming too, we will be back!
🌅 Friendly people, i was made very welcome. Very clean rooms. All amenities you would need. Beautiful comfy pillows! Hot showers ! Lovely food and coffee.Good selection of teas to choose from in the room with six little cartons of milk for that extra cuppa.Tele with lots of channels that i actually wanted to watch, unlike the usual hotels/b&bs. Full length mirror.
Good clean furniture.
I will definitely book here every time i visit Bude !
😊
Was a little unsure when the host wrote that this was in his back garden, the entrance is via a rear alley but when you get in what a gem of a place. This is better than any hotel room. (Unless you want to sit in a hotel room and look at the beach). It's lovely and quite and only a few minutes walk to the nearest beach and 10 minds to the town and another beach. When we return this will definitely be the first place to try and stay.
- Staff were brilliant, very professional, helpful and friendly.
- We had room 102. It was a reasonable size with a decent shower and very clean.
- Continental breakfast was very good.
- Location is fab. Walking distance of the beach, town centre, etc.
- Free parking at front and back of hotel.
Great location and great room with our own private terrace and sea view. Loved the Nespresso machine!!
Staff were wonderful at both the hotel and restaurant and couldn't do enough for us
Good choice of breakfast and staff more than happy to accommodate bespoke requests where possible
The location was perfect. Close to Bude, Widemouth, Tintagel and Boscastle. The accommodation was so lovely. Very warm welcome from the hosts when we arrived and the cottage was warm and very clean. We had such a lovely stay and would look forward to staying again.
I travelled around 50 countries and stayed in plenty of accomodations in different flavours and sizes. The Edgcumbe Hotel is one of the best I stayed because of staff, location and service. I highly recommend this place for holistic experience in Cornwall.
great little hotel. we got a free upgrade from Classic to Deluxe with sea view. The room was amazing with beautiful bathroom , very comfy bed and great views.
The staff is very friendly and offer great service.
I really recommend.
This is the perfect place for families and couples to enjoy the gateway to Cornwall. A beautiful and very homely feeling caravan with a luxury style. Everything was perfect and couldn't fault a thing!
So many extra ‘home comforts’ added. The owner really made it so cosy and all thought of everything for a comfortable stay. Really close to Bude too which was nice to walk in.
staff were great, breakfast was superb and the bed very comfortable. location was very close to the SW Costal Path and it was an easy walk back from Bude after dinner.
