From the start it was clear that O'tooles was a very quaint and cosy venue! After a brief but jolly meet with the staff we were kindly escorted to our room, we were delighted with a pleasant view of the rich green fields of grass overlooking the Mersey river, this was rather a delightful surprise as other reviews suggested otherwise! Me and my friends had a marvellous time and all this at a very reasonable price, my friend Arthur mentioned this was the highlight of our Liverpool stay and I specifically remember he said he would recommend this to his friends at TetFord. Thank you O'tooles for a lovely venue, previous reviews of your establishment were of no justice! Happy 2015
very comfortable beds and shower and toilet in bedroom so didn't have to go out of room.
a bit to far away from anything and a lot of stairs to climb
Stayed or three nights good value for money near to everywhere we wanted to go.
The stairs we were at the top.
Quiet location.only a few minutes from central Liverpool. Overlooking the historical Dock Road. Plenty of parking. Central heating.
Horrible receptionist Damp musty smell Location
Rooms were clean and comfortable The manager was very helpful.
Don't know if booking.com had told the proprietor of our arrival as both our rooms were not ready..
We only stayed one night !!
It was a one star at best. No reception , no customer service , no ambience , no bar , no B and B , no nothing really except a hard bed and a leaky roof, worth a comment was the kettle which smelt like some one enjoyed piss flavoured tea ?!! Disgusting !!!!! Not recommended unless a boys weekend and may I suggest you trash the place , should take about 5 secs since mostly already done !!! Avoid
The price - only 29 pounds for a double room, shower and bed were OK
Breakfast was optional for extra 10 pounds per person, stairway was really steep and narrow, which can be a problem for elderly people
located close to City and Docks area.Basic but "does the job"!!
Lack of general store or café or Public House nearby. There was a café fairly close but closed after lunchtime and also no public transport nearby.
Helpful staff, good location to the ferries
-the watercooker (though it was a little dirty) -the view, amazing! -Freeview TV -street in front of the hotel was quiet by night, busy by day -nice bed -private entrance
-Short blankets -The window leaked -The drains didn't work properly -The shower was really slow to heat up -No shelve in the bathroom -door moved and made noise when the wind blew -the early check-out time -pay for towels -no fancy soaps in the hotelroom -only one mug per person and only one bag of tea per person
we were very happy with this b&b and would recomend it
Nothing at all, far too expensive for what we got. The whole building needs a lot of work on it, as it looked as if it was falling down.
Did not like anything about this B&B it was a shambles.
A surly hotel clerk, we had to rent towels, there was no toilet paper, it was a difficult, narrow, winding staircase to the third floor room, at checkout, we had to bang on the door to check out of the hotel, and then were told by the same surly (unpleasant) clerk that we should just drop the key in a box on the floor, she did not have need to speak with us. All in all, they certainly lack hospitality.
Easy walk to the city centre. Plenty of free parking (on street) nearby.
Located in a rather run-down mostly industrial area - relatively hard to find: sat nav leaves you in Dublin Street whereas O'Toole's is around the corner on the main road.
Room stunk. Staff unfriendly Don't bother
Don't listen to poor reviews, it clean and tidy for us golf visitors, rub rub
Small and cheap room, just as we expected - place to sleep comfortably. Good value for money. I liked room decorations, very girly :)
There was no shower gel or shampoo, so have in mind to take yours.
Poor location details , poor customer service , absolutely diabolical place with gaps in floorboards , lucky I don't sue
I shocked from the bad staff and how she welcome us .. The room was very poor .. The entrance scary and unsafe for families
Every thing I didn't like ,, except the room was clean only
We like the lady who gave us refund and key to another room because wall was liking in our room. It is quite cheap; hence it is not in the centre and conditions are average; Therefore I think it is good value for money.
The reception close all the time, poor WiFi without free breakfast and very high price.
I can't believe the horrendous reviews people have written about this establishment. Completely untrue! I booked the accommodation well in advance, and then the night before I checked the reviews. Needless to say, I was horrified and frightened to stay there. On arrival, I requested to see the room, as the reviews really unsettled me. To my absolute delight the room was light, airy and comfortable with a large clean ensuite. The host, Hana, could not be more helpful and made our stay welcoming. Lovely host and lovely accommodation!
No faults with the accommodation or staff what-so-ever.
It was cleaner than I thought it was going to be. It's a very cheap price so I recommend only if you're going to sleep a few hours.
I knew it wasn't going to be a hilton's so if you're happy with the value for money, there's nothing bad. it was a very low category place but with good intentions.
