Score from 483 reviews Very good
+ Facilities (indoor pool, jacuzzi & steam room were clean & most pleasant) + Spacious room + The fact that I could open the window as little/as much as I wanted :) Most hotels I've stayed in have all sorts of systems preventing you from opening windows so it was refreshing to let the fresh air in when I felt like it!
- Old-looking bathroom with mediocre water pressure and a dirty plug - My queen sized bed looked much larger until I realised it was 2 single beds squeezed into 1... About 6 springs on 1 mattress had gone, creating lumps in the mattress...
Staff in resturaunt were very good and friendly especially Izabella
Pool spa food
Rooms in desperate need of update
All staff were very friendly and helpful. Great facilities and really good food with a comprehensive menu choice.
Car parking was a little "hit & miss" for spaces
Pool was really stunning, staff were very attentive
Big complex not particularly well signposted, food in the restaurant was a little poor and the decor wasn't good
Location of Hotel, Variety of food at evening meal. Plenty of space although hotel was quite full. Plenty of parking
Although Adults week children aged 8 at the Adult entertainment. Could have a time allocated for Adults only swim period. Fire warning sounded but no staff on end to tell people where to assemble. Once outside still people playing in the Aztec Games Room
Being part of a complex. Being away from the main town with nearby walks. Food
Noisy groups in restaurant
location staff food
rattling windows when windy boiler room outside window
Peaceful. View from window. Availability to wander between hotels. Good breakfast, plenty of choice.
Toilet was blocked on arrival - should have been noticed by house keeping. We have been there before and felt that everything seemed a bit run down at the Toorak. Seems like money has been invested in the other hotels. We were there on a B & B and were disappointed in the food available in the complex.
The hotel has been re vamped since we last stayed there ,it looks super ,I like the decor, the staff were very friendly and helpfull, the hotel has lots to do and the entertainment was good. but still has a bit more to do on finishing the hotel.
Food good and plentiful. Had to requests decaf fixated drinks .
Standard of cleanliness poor bath mat mouldy skirting boards in bathroom dusty. We had to ask for a heater as no heat from radiator. Hotel 'decor 'tired'. Would suggest rooms checked for cleanliness.
Size of bedroom Breakfast The waitress who served us in the restaurant, a young polish lady, was the happiest person I've ever met.
Dated bathroom Tables very close together in restaurant, wouldn't have liked it had the restaurant been busy. Parking was a nightmare, overflow car parks were full. Luckily there was a large public one nearby even though it wasn't free.
The hotel is very well located - right in the centre of torquay within walking distance from the centre.
Doors slamming all night - leading to poor sleep quality. The hotel is very old fashioned and would benefit from a complete refurbishment. Breakfast was really disgusting with poor service.
The Toorak was well with in walking distance from shops and the harbour we parked up and didnt use our car all weekend hotel was friendly and all staff very helpful pool was great will be returning asap
Hotel room spacious. Quite bedroom. Breakfast. Spa
Strange smell in wardrobe. Insufficient car park.
Liked the staff and breakfast was really good and the location was not far from the town and the facilities were good.
I think having a room on the ground floor by reception is not very private, and people were outside our room talking , which could be quite noisy , especially in the mornings .
well situated for the town. good leisure facilities.
smelt musty, being an old hotel it needs updating.
I originally booked as a solo traveller, then two relatives decided to join me. As we had booked separately I emailed the hotel to ask if we could sit together for our meals and received a very pleasant reply to say it had been noted. On checking in we discovered that we had also been given rooms next door to one another which was not expected. The rooms and the restaurant had been refurbished recently. The food is excellent and the location is convenient for both the sea front and the town.
Restaurant staff were excellent, smiling, polite etc
Decor was dated, bedding was poor, was full of coaches with old people in them!!!
quiet and relaxing, friendly, good 3 Star standard throughout. food good. We had a creaky bed which we mentioned at Recep. and it was replaced instantly !
needed updating, passenger lift antiquated
Restaurant quite smart and breakfast OK. View from room quite good
Extreme noise from main function room on Saturday night with no prior warning from the Hotel. Rooms too hot and windows difficult to open. Rooms and corridors need re-furbishing.
Location-can walk easily into Torquay. Very helpful and friendly staff. A first class restaurant serving fine dinners at a reasonable price. Management dealt swiftly and sensibly with our complaints re disco/drunks noise.
Double bed made from 2 single-with uncomfortable joint in middle of bed! One seriously disturbed night due to unexpected disco on one night with very loud music almost under our window..no sleep at all until gone 2am. Rubbish pizza in Bistro!!!
The array of food at breakfast was excellent. The hotel facilities including spa and pools were excellent. The location led you into Torre Abbey which was a stunning building and made for a very interesting day out.
I had to ask for toilet rolls for the room and when the room had been cleaned on one occasion we were left with dirty cups and tea spoons! We were charged for wine which we never consumed, although the hotel realized and we weren't charged!
Plenty to do in the area and good evening entertainment for my 4yr old daughter. Good breakfast and evening meal. I will stay there again and next time a little longer too.
The bedrooms were a good size and clean but could do with modernisation. The colour scheme, furniture and carpet are many years old.
