Score from 18 reviews Wonderful
quality of the service friendliness of the staff the décor/ interior design of the hotel. quality of food / meals location overall ambiance
The bed and pillows I found bit firm therefore uncomfortable but that is purely down to the individual , as others may find them just right for themselves.
Location Staff attitude Great view from veranda
Small room for a double, small window limited air, room warm Breakfast, no fresh fruit Bathroom small,
The hotel was in a beautiful location with lovely views from the bedroom and restaurant
The narrow walk down the woodland path to the village, especially the bottom part where the was no rail to hold
Staff friendliness and willingness to please and help. Cannot compliment them enough. Comfotable room and wonderful views.
Background music in restaurant and bar. Anything without base would be preferable.
Friendly welcome, and nothing was too much trouble. Every effort was made to make us feel at home. The Decor is unusual/quirky as we had expected. We needed to ask a few questions before we arrived, and telephoned the hotel to check if late booking in would be possible and if some food could be available for us when we got there - we were very pleased to get a prompt return call and for every request to be met with a 'no problem' reply considerably more helpful than other establishments in the area. one of the main positives was sitting watching the view across the bay and of the town as we dined - a truly restful experience. Another big plus is a parking place for each room.
The room was comfortable, but we didn't have a sea view (we had read in another review that every room had a sea view although the hotel had not made that claim). The tv had only 4 channels, and they were not in any order on the telly. It would have been nice to have free wifi throughout the hotel - especially in the rooms. Whilst the food was prepared beautifully, the menu was very limited for non meat eaters. For example, the Sunday Roast was beef - no alternatives.
Beautiful location, Hotel full of character, great staff
As on business would like an earlier start time for breakfast (08:30 is a bit late) and would like Wifi in rooms if possible
Superb in every respect
Staff, quirky nature, food.
Swimming pool closed.
No lift available
Loved the view from our window over Lynmouth - second to none. Liked the quirkiness of the hotel. Breakfast was good. Nice to be able to leave the car and walk in and out of Lynmouth
Odd entrance and a bit far to drag the luggage to the door - seemed to access the hotel through the dining room! Asked for ice bucket and was given a pint glass of ice!
In the restaurant one had to take the whole menu, which was too much to eat.
This hotel has an excellent location and the new revamped terrace area is wonderful, especially if you get good weather as we did.
We have been visiting this hotel for 20 years and the bedrooms have not changed much during that time. They are looking a little tired we did not feel that they represented good value for money. I understand that they will be refurbished over the winter so hopefully this matter will be resolved. Some of the staff were excellent, but others were less than helpful.
Excellent location, great decor and extremely friendly staff.
