Excellent food and service with beautiful grounds
Creaking floor boards in rooms above every time someone walked around.
the staff were friendly and helpful
I felt the food was very mediocre and poor for the price
Lovely hotel nice setting Clean room
Food served in Atrium Bar in evening was microwaved! Dont expect this in a 4* hotel. Thought breakfast would be better. Dinning room was dark and dingy and quality of breakfast food was poor. Buffet area messy. Food bland. More choice is 3* hotels than here.
Beautiful building, lovely food at the restaurant and the spa was brilliant.
Everything was fantastic with one exception.
Absolutely stunning hotel in beautiful grounds.Impressive decor throughout. Very comfortable, clean and quiet room.Good pool and spa facilities.Ate in restuarant for evening meal which was in the old library and very atmospheric. Delicious 3 course meal, exceptional desserts all served by friendly efficient staff. Great breakfast in the morning. Highly recommend this hotel.
Wonderful setting with fabulous garden and arboretum. Grand building with large rooms and impressive reception area. Lovely swimming pool.
Style of paintings up main staircase not in keeping with the building. Darkness of dining area.
Beautiful hotel in a very scenic setting
Comfortable rooms. Good breakfast. Very helpful staff. Lovely grounds. History of property well documented and presented.
We were woken late at night by female guests talking very loudly and sometimes shouting to another just outside the front entrance. We initially thought it would be smokers and they would have gone inside again after 10 minutes or so. They did not. The noise went on for more than half an hour. It was disappointing that staff made no attempt to move the unruly guests on or to ask them to keep the noise down.
room was fine, bed was fine
Orangery GONE High Tea in Orangery......gone Cocktails and reading in Tower...GONE 10000 chauffeurs with vehicles and drunken wedding parties fully present Dinner menu average
The building, the staff very good. The cost of drinks in the bar. Good location Advance request granted with a nice touch
The spa pretty basic and slightly over priced but ok.
The hotel was set in mature grounds with a relaxed but vibrant gardens. Staff very helpful and the rooms all very nicely fitted out. Lots of pipping hot water and no noise from neighbouring rooms / corridoors as all rooms on 1st floor up individual staircases.
Nothing. Had a great stay and will be back, with our friends next time.
The half board deal, good value. Good standard size of room and a power shower.
The distance of the room to reception. Check in desk was a little slow especially in the morning check out - there is the express check out but not if you require VAT reciept.
Excellent spa and pool, good buffet breakfast and helpful staff.
Limited wifi in rooms a long way from reception
The hotel is very picturesque and a great approach and venue. Stayed here before for a business conference / function.
Only downside - every hotel room is such a long walk from reception and the facilities. The corridors are like a rabbit warren.
Impressive place, beautiful grounds, helpful friendly staff, good food, pity we were only there one night!
After our second stay at Tortworth we will definately return. Great attentive staff, excellent food and good facilities.
The building was amazing and set in beautiful grounds. Trees planted in 1860! There was a glorious outdoor area for relaxation and wandering around the estate.
Our bedroom was in a rabbit warren with fifteen stairs. The noisy toilet cistern took 10 minutes to fill. There was very little value for money.
Location was good, the garden is very pretty, nice pool.
Breakfast is too basic, restraunt is not that good, the staff is not very accommodating. Pillows are not good quality, bathrooms are somewhat outdated.
The setting and the room.
Room was really nice and room service was brilliant
Bar closed a little early and I could purchase any drinks as they wanted my bank details
Friendly staff and lovely facilities. Enjoyed the spa treatments.
Disappointed the bars were not able to make a cocktail in the evening.
loved the building, gardens, friendliness of staff and had a lovely meal in atrium
we found the spa facilities (pool, jacuzzi, hammam) to be rather dated and under par with the standard of rest of hotel
the ambiance of the hotel and the friendly staff
