Good genuine pub with character. Friendly, helpful staff. Reasonable prices, just what a local pub should be.

Bar staff petting a customers dog, then serving customers without washing their hands. Behind the headboard of my bed was full of webs and dirt..

For the money the room was clean & functionable with neutral decor & new looking carpets. The bedding was clean & there were ample coat hangers in the wardrobe.

It was a surprise to find the 2 showers & 3 toilets were down the hall & communal. It would have been preferable to have had them specified by gender. Also the heaters in the toilets were at ankle level & were scalding hot. Unfortunately there was also no window or air conditioning in our room which made it a bit hot as it was summer, although others did have windows & there was an air conditioning unit placed in the corridor. An active contact number for staff on duty would have been helpful for our stay.

Excellent value for a great location - £25 for a large single room amazing value. Shared shower/bath facilities very adequate and all kept clean and tidy. Room very quiet.

Very minor points. Kitchen/kettle drinks facilities poor - no cups for tea/coffee. Ventilation/heat - obviously an issue as hallway fan set to maximum coolness as very warm in room.

No parking outside but public parking very close by which is free after 6pm. Rooms are good and clean. The place is excellent value for money and while you can hear the pub below it is not an issue nor a disturbance. Would recommend for a cheap overnight stay.

Hand soap outside the toilets would be a nice addition.

Staff were very friendly made me welcome and had a very large room to stay in. Highly recommended

The toilets weren't ensuite so you were greeted with some unfamiliar faces in the morning but for the money excellent value.

Spotless - very clean. Excellent staff, very efficient. Shared bathroom facilities were good. We didn't realise that it was shared facilities. We thought we booked en-suite (so read the details carefully, we should have checked). However facilities were very clean and easily available.

Room too hot, no need for bedding (it was a very cold wet day outside). There was no window in our room - windowless so we couldn't cool it down.

The room was clean and comfortable. The mattress was comfortable and the tv was a good size. There were two showers, which had plenty of changing room and were hot and plentiful. You can hear the general noise from the pub downstairs but not too bad - I slept through it. Just be aware that the pub is open till midnight on Fri / Sat. Although breakfast is not included, there were cereals available as well as tea and coffee (supply your own milk). You are also allowed to bring in drinks from the pub downstairs, or even your own as long as you are clean and tidy with it. For the price you couldn't ask for much more.

My only real complaint was the toilets. There are three, and they aren't designated Male / Female. The first one I tried had no paper. The second the seat was up and there was urine all round the top of the toilet and over the floor and it stank. Someone woke everyone up in the middle of the night banging on the main accommodation door, can't blame the owners for that but it went on for a long time without being stopped - the danger of staying in pub accommodation. No window in the room - might be a bonus for keeping the noise down though!
