We got to the hotel and were sold the wrong room, we paid for a ground floor room at back of house with red and gold decorations, and a shower...we were given a top floor room at front of house with green decorations with a bath.
We went to complain, the member of staff blamed booking.com and showed us an alternative room on the middle floor as the one we paid for was taken.
In our room we discovered cushions on the floor, hairs in the shower, dust all over furnishings and a room overlooking the roadside that came with noisy people that continued to keep us awake into the early hours of the morning.
The next day we also discovered that booking.com and the hotel both took payment for our stay and so we called our bank provider and rectified this by ourselves.
On check out we explained our inconvenience in being charged twice and the woman at the desk was not the slightest bit surprised nor pretended to be empathetic at all.
She then showed her concern that we had possibly cancelled her payment and they may end up short changed, also denying that it could be possible for two payments to be taken, insisting we had made a mistake.
Overall a terrible nights stay, very glad we didn't stay longer and would not recommend unless you wish to be spoken to like an idiot just because you are a young couple. We went there for a relaxing days rest and instead was taken advantage of, given wrong room, kept up at night, charged double the rate and insulted.
£80 we will never get back.

We liked the idea of the room that Booking.com sold us however when we got there it was already occupied and the staff there were not very apologetic for this.
