I liked the room, I liked the location, the staff were friendly and it could be a really top notch hotel with small improvements.
It's not a case of didn't like but there are areas that could do with improvement. For example, the breakfast service was very slow. The coffee was appalling. The toilet in the Bagshaw room is very slow to fill. The bath towels are small.
Beautiful hotel - the architecture is wonderful. The room was extremely comfortable, quiet and well appointed. The food was very good. Reasonably close to the Harwich Cruise Terminal via taxi.
Friendly staff, good food and above all very clean. The bar man was chatty as was the breakfast staff.
Window cleaners looking in during breakfast, not a great start to the day.
Leaving the following morning.
Let's not be silly they no what the problems are. Just need to sort them.
We liked the old building with lovely interior decoration, bedroom was very nicely decorated. The breakfast was very good value for money. The Night Porter was a very friendly and informative chap.
We arrived from Heathrow at midnight and staff were very friendly & obliging. Made us sandwiches & tea, since we'd had no dinner. Beautiful old hotel with lots of character. Beautiful grounds & gardens.
Spacious room, new bathroom and large comfortable bed, all was spotless in a beautiful building.
This is a small port town with limited hotel options close to the port, so we were extremely happy to find this beautiful little inn. There was a fountain and garden area right outside our window. The room was sparking clean, including the bathroom (very important!). The decorations were perfect for the setting, and the grounds were well kept. If we ever cruise out of Harwich Port again, we will definitely stay at the Tower Hotel.
Internet would not connect in our room.
Guest house feel.
The Mandela room that we had needs to be updated.
We loved everything about the Tower Hotel.. very nice, very comfortable, staff were lovely too, very relaxing stay, would go back and would recommend the Tower Hotel to others.
We have nothing to put here.
The way the bar manager asked Michael for the .45p after he was paying her a bar bill in excess of £1200 ?.l'm a publican myself and was in the company of two men and they are publicans to say that they were astonished by the request would be an under statement.
Location, rooms, service
Clean, comfortable, kind staff
No wifi in our room (bad reception), had to wait long for someone to come to the receptiondesk
Hot room - no A/C, Access door next to room frequently slamming shut from 75 minutes before breakfast started, Rang bell 3 times for attention when checking in. Internet patchy.
Wonderful comfortable bed. Pleasant staff. Nice village very walkable.Need taxi to get to Harwich port but it is relatively close by. Food is tasty. Tried the Bolgenese pasta for dinner, along with fish and chips. Breakfast was great crumpets. Along with a full English breakfast. Would stay here again no question.
We had two rooms. One did not have a fan. When we asked for a fan for that room they told us it had been stolen. It was a lovely hotel and the food was good and the staff was pleasant but none of us slept.
Staff were so friendly and welcoming . The suite we stayed in was clean and so comfortable. Because of the warm weather I had asked for a fan. A good sized fan was ready in our room on arrival. Food excellent all real value for money.
The extractor fan did not appear to work in the bathroom. Other than that all excellent.
Bar Gardens Parking Staircase and public area
It's a very charming hotel. The owners love The Beatles and they have memorabilia in every corner. We had a great room with a jacuzzi.
The breakfast is simpel and in the morning it was a bit noisy because of the road.
The pr0ximity to the town and the port of Harwich.
I would have thought for the price it would have included breakfast,
The décor in the Hotel was fantastic with superb ceiling sculptured mouldings
Ambience, comfort, beauty of hotel, staff, everything was perfect!
No negatives whatsoever.
I loved everything. The room was very comfortable. Nice washroom. The dining room was a work of art, it was so lovely. Nice garden area with lots of roses. close to the train station. We walked with our suitcases from Dovercourt station to the hotel. 3 minutes train ride to the port of Harwich for our cruise.l We had a great dinner on both nights at the restaurant. Very good. Close to the nice boardwalk along the ocean. Easy walk to Harwichtown.
There is no elevator but only 2 floors high. For us , it was not a big problem.
