I found the staff extremely helpful from the doorman to reception to the bar staff. When I was checking out there was a woman who was clearly upset in the foyer, the staff were so kind and sympathetic to her. I would have no problem recommending your hotel.
The swimming pool was amazing. I really liked the furniture and lighting in the hotel. The rooms were quirky but clean and functional.
The room was huge, the gym was brand new and the pool was lovely. All the decor was super cool and kooky, had alot of character. The location was conveniently located very close to Bethnal Green tube station from where it is easy to access central London.
The wardrobe was so tiny you couldn't even hang a coat in it. Our room on the whole didn't have much storage space so we were living in a bit of a mess, but we did go for the most basic room and I saw the rooms the next level up had much better storage and kitchen facilities. I am more used to staying in the West and was plesantly surprised how much the East is becoming hip and happening these days, but there still is a bit of the old East London hanging around, maybe didn't feel as safe walking around the area.
It's a great building with great character. The area has a great variety of architecture, restaurants people and scenery. We always walk down to Tower Bridge (if it's not raining), it's accessible. The staff are what make or break a hotel and this one has very helpful and friendly people.
Room G24. Hanging space in the wardrobe too short to even hang a shirt! This means creases. Dresses just have to be folded. Nowhere to hang a wet raincoat. This needs to be addressed
It was a different style of hotel which was so refreshing. The separate bedroom to living room was fantastic for us. Kitchen facilities just perfect. Staff where exceptional and would do anything for us. Loved the pool. All round a top hotel.
The abrupt finish of the breakfast.
loved the building the room the service loved the food loved the restaurant
only negative I can mention is that I prepared the laundry to hand it over in reception and after writing the form and brining it to reception they told me it does not work on Sundays. but it doesn't mention that on the room information
The layout of the apartment The modern facilities The pool
Everything made with taste and style.
General ambience, politeness of staff, quietness
Condition of furniture in the room, quirky layout, small bed, exorbitant cost.
Friendly and accommodating staff and we had a 2 bedroom suit and were not charged for checking out a bit late which was very much appreciated.
1 bedroom accommodation was perfect for our Young family. Kitchen facilities great, bathroom great and overall very happy with stay. Pool was fantastic !
Shower in change room is set at way too hot and not easily being able to open a window was an issue
i loved the space in the room and the modern design. Also loved the pool as I was the only one in it!
a scalding shower in changing rooms that did not respond to any controls. Nobody around to ask for help. Had to return with shampoo in hair to room to shower.
We were in an open-plan suite with facilities. Lovely modern design which complemented the classical room proportions and antique ceiling plasterwork perfectly. The location in E2 was perfect for our needs. Tube station very close and easy to get into centre of city and West End. Front desk and concierge very helpful - stored our luggage and arranged taxis for us - always spot on time. Breakfast was really good, both buffet and freshly prepared hot choices. We didn't make use of the Michelin starred restaurant in the evening, but the menu looked interesting. Great pool and gym in basement. All our party (ourselves and three younger couples) thought the hotel was great.
A very minor point. And by no means a criticism - just a suggestion. The lighting in the room was quite bright, and controlled from switches at three different locations. This was good when you were up and about and needed bright lighting for practical tasks, but it might be good if the lighting in the immediate area of the bed could be turned down and made 'romantic' by using the switches right alongside the bed. Could a dimmer switch be fitted? Although we were not a honeymoon couple, we were told that we had been allocated one of the 'bridal suites'.
Clean and very elegant yet simple with quiet despite being in the midst of the city.
I loved the style, the stillness, the cleaning.
Breakfast à bit too expencive but it was nice. Could have been closer to the city.
The converted Town Hall exceeded all expectations with the facilities and the apartment that we had to stay in being modern but the rest of the hotel interior kept its original and retro style. 11 out of 10
Impressive building and stylishly designed rooms.
Some staff seemed seriously to lack training and any real customer focus (with one exception). Check-in was quite lengthy due to rooms having to be switched to get baths/showers in the correct configuration. The rooms are all different and even some larger rooms have small double beds. Our wardrobe was barely adequate even for a one night stay and one fellow guest had no full length wardrobe at all. The so called hotel bar is not adequate. It doubles as a local bar and we were asked if we had reservations to sit and have a drink. It is not suitable for older guests due to the noise level and age profile of the other drinkers. The bar staff were not particularly welcoming and it seemed not to matter that one was an hotel guest. The restaurant menu seems too complicated for what it is and portions are quite small. When we were there, the breakfast coffee and tea water was tepid on both days and the table was not replenished adequately so that there was not a full choice available right up to the end of service. The worst sin is that bills all come with a service charge already added and the payment/signing slip has a line for gratuities as if there were no service charge being made. I personally hate this.
suite staff interior pool location
I liked the architecture, the interior design, the kindness of the staff and the particular location. 'll definitely come back! See my blog about Town Hall Hotel: http://paulchaosandperception.blogspot.com
Size of apartment Well-lit bathtub Modern gym
Location Wear and tear Room service
For Bethnal Green, this is a nice Hotel. Splendid design etc. Lovely Pool! Superb Breakfast
Noise in the room: from the Hallway, from people (staff?) standing outside the window smoking cigarettes, from the Breakfast room right above room G23...
I did not get the room that was shown in the promised room category photographs. Baby crib has never arrived. It never felt like either hotel or apartment much like an office building. Room rate was excessive compared to conventional hotels.
Food was exceptionally poor and cost over GBP100 for 2 small plates
if you accept to stay little away from the cenre , Town Hall is excelent choice, spacious comfortable, clean rooms, very good service, delicious foot in booth restaurants (must try !) Unique in London !
