Very friendly and helpful staff, and an excellent breakfast .
Excellent breakfast and very good location. Everything was convenient.
I stayed here on a visit with my daughter who has just started at Exeter uni and still feeling a bit homesick so the friendly atmosphere and homely feel to the place was just right for us
For an overnight stay, arriving to Exeter by plane and leaving by train, this location worked perfectly for me. The airport bus stops on the corner, about 50 metres away, and the train station is a couple of minutes walk downhill. Friendly staff, clean and comfortable room and breakfast well worth getting up for. No problems to leave my luggage for a few hours after check-out whilst I popped into the city. The location is more central than it first appears on the map. There's a short-cut through St Davids churchyard which leads to Queen Street and the High Street is a couple of minutes further.
Member of staff immediately offered to carry my case to top floor room. Lovely decor. Liked the way real wood had been used to make desk area. Bath robe provided; alas too small for my portly figure. Breakfast selection wonderful with fresh fruit and homemade preserves.Quality ingredients for cooked breakfast. On street parking available outside/nearby - a boon in Exeter.
For heavens sake sort out access! Having rung the door bell a number of times and used the heavy door knocker too - loud enough to alert the whole street, I eventually spotted someone in the front ground floor room. Having waved and called out the person eventually let me in. It turned out he was a fellow guest who felt uncomfortable about letting me in and had also had exactly the same problem a short while earlier. The member of staff apologised but seemed surprised by the fact she had not heard me. As this was not the first time this had happened that day the hotel need to address the issue. Can I suggest an extension bell to the back/staff area of the hotel? Not only did I feel frustrated but also rather unwelcome.
Cosy, comfortable, lovely breakfast with great choices, up fussy, friendly and welcoming.
Noise from street on the Friday night was disruptive in the early hours. Closing window made the. Room rather warm.
A comfortable room with wood floors perfect for our short stay with two small dogs. Staff were courteous and friendly. Breakfast had a good selection including fresh fruit. Cooked breakfast was freshly cooked not kept warm as is often the case in larger hotels. Location is good for access to the centre and the many restaurants. Would definitely stay again next time we are in Exeter.
Handy for stations, room was a great size and absolutely spotless, a very friendly welcome, very good value for money, nice to have use of a garden
Some of the décor is a little tired
Generous supplies of tea and coffee in the room, plus bottle of water and nice toiletries
Quiet calm atmosphere. Highly recommend this Town House. Staff were very good Cheerful and polite
Windows could do with a clean in Miss Money Penny
Very comfortable and excellent breakfast choice. My bed , a twin was very comfortable. Nice little touches. Not uptight or precious like so many b and bs
Immaculate rooms, each named after a literary figure. Excellent breakfast, 10 mins walk from Exeter centre.

A very friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Great staff....great location
Town House turned to be a perfect choice for our Exeter visit. Arriving late was not a problem - we got helpful instructions on how to get in, beds were comfortable, breakfast was plentiful, staff attentive and helpful, wifi functioning without problems.
excellent location,friendly welcome,excellent breakfast
Bed not very comfortable, ensuite on the small side
The room was very quaint and clean. The breakfast was delicious! The staff was helpful.
There was a slight smell in the bathroom.
Excellent choice for breakfast. Friendly welcoming and helpful staff.
Absence of sufficient shelving and wardrobe space.
Staff Breakfast Location Comfortable beds Clean Spacious family room
Have stayed in this hotel twice and both times was amazed by the service and how clean and neat rooms were. Each room is decorated differently and has it's own name.
Emergency laundry Excellent breakfast Walking distance to center of Exeter
Parking a bit tricky with a guest permit, but not really a problem
I have stayed here twice now - the first time I was given an unexpected upgrade, the second time I was in the room that I booked, and both times I loved the rooms. Both nicely decorated, clean and comfortable, with fresh coffee in the room. Breakfast was also very enjoyable, with a nice selection of fresh fruit to choose from in addition to the cereals, continental and full English. Easy walking distance to the cathedral and other attractions - would definitely stay here again!
Watch out for the parking outside - it is a mix of residents' parking and two-hour bays, and not always clear which is which!
A great place, very comfortable, beautiful and great value for money. Thank you!
