Friendly staff, high standard of cleanliness
friendly staff. clean comfortable rooms
our t.v was not very good
The room itself was clean and comfortable. Ideally situated as we have friends that live 1 mile away. The receptionist was friendly.
The hotel could probably do with a refurb as is slightly shabby.
I liked the atmosphere there
Not sure i found something i did not like.
Clean and comfortable. Quiet
Hotel entrance not obvious from direction i arrived late at night. First apparent entrance is into indian restaurant.
Generally good but the heated towel rail didn't work so having showered on arrival before going to a family party the towels were still damp when we got up and showered before leaving the following morning. The beds were fairly comfortable but there was only one pillow each which was not really adequate. We were surprised on arrival to be told breakfast was between 8 and 10 but that we had to decide then what time we would want breakfast the next morning, we didn't know but said we would think about 9 it would depend what time we came home that evening we were then given a timed ticket for breakfast!. In the end our guess was about right but I wonder what would have happened if we had gone to the restaurant, with our timed ticket earlier or later. However the main thing I found odd was when we asked for extra milk and tea bags when we came in that evening, there were 4 of each when we arrived but we had had used these after check in and before going out in the evening. We were told very abruptly by the night porter that top ups were not Hotel policy and not available, (obviously 2 cups of tea each in 3 hours in the afternoon was excessive). I checked this with the very pleasant day receptionist on check out the next morning who said that the night receptionist was new and that extra tea etc was available but there would have been a charge which with the room at £55 a night I think to charge extra for a couple of tea bags and milk sachets is very petty. Because of the convenience of this hotel to Desborough we would book again, remembering to pack tea bags and milk, but think this small pleasant hotel is spoilt by this small minded attitude and that they could learn from Travel Lodge and Premier Inn ( whose prices are compatible) about Customer service . I admit this clouded our experience and if there was another hotel in Desborough we would try staying there next time, but as there is not they obviously rely on having a captive clientele.
pettiness and atitude of night staff
Room very comfortable and clean, not squashed. Covered area leading to dining room. Lovely breakfast area and dining room. Plenty of parking space.
Difficult to find at first - the hotel is not actually in Desborough, but on the road into Desborough - about a mile/half mile away.
It was a comfortable room nothing special but clean and warm.
I had to get up very early 4.00am to leave for a special event and there was no hot water to have a shower so was very disappointed considering the price of the room which was very standard.
The car Park was good
Room. One of the children's beds would only accommodate a 5 year old not a 10 year old
People are very friendly, and accommodating to your needs. We thought the restaurant next door was really nice, food very good and breakfast was great.
No bath plug, however I was advise on the reason why. Still feel that you should have the option! You could invest in better quality of duvet and pillows. The sofa throw was not very pleasant. And TCMF facilities were satisfactory (1 biscuit on arrival) when two people in room for 3 nights, it not very good.
Friendly staf, good value restaurant with deliciousness indian food, good breakfast.
Indian Restaurant and Bar right next door
Cleanliness, room size
No separate bar.
TV only tuned to BBC1, even second night after Informing manager
Staff were very helpful & refunded the price of our breakfast as there were problems in the restaurant attached to it!
The garden rooms overlook the road and unfortunately we could not sleep with window open due to road noise
Good location friendly reception clean well equipped room restaurant next door, superb food at very reasonable cost
Clean, comfortable and spacious.
Couldn't't log onto internet as would not load.
Clean good facilities in room
Couldn't get internet access at all despite long discussion with receptionist. Therefore needed information about travelling in the area, and apparently there wasn't any available. The cooked breakfast could have been better cooked.
Easy location Comfortable clean room Basic but perfect for a one night stop
Confusion over how to order breakfast which resulted in no breakfast
Cleanliness of room and ensuite
No lift to first floor - not so convenient for "mature" couple. No cereal included with full breakfast. Quality of cooked food rather poor.
A full English breakfast should include cornflakes etc. Very poor insurance for items left in room.
I think the Indian restaurant could have a more varied menu for people who do not like curries, as it is so convenient to hotel that you would not need to go out and search for a meal. It makes sense to have it inhouse.
very clean , and the location was great,
price [QUITE DEAR ] and the staff at breakfast ,there was an asian guy who was very good very helpfull and another guy who just did not want to be there,we had to ask for some items for the continental breakfast ,would you kindly send me the menu for the continental breakfast please as i intend to take this a little further, kind regards mr j holloway.. after all we had booked 3 rooms and to be told that we couldnt sit at the table after eating our breakfast came as a bit of a suprise.
the room was a comfortable side and the wifi was good.
police turning up the night I was there due to someone being drunk and disorderly. Noise constantly down the corridors as they have wooden flooring. People slamming doors at all hours.
Staff attitude was very good indeed, friendly and efficient. The hotel was clean and the room was large. The restaurant attached is excellent and good value for money. I will stay again anytime.
Slightly off the beaten track, so a car is a must.
